Many complained about Chilwell asking price of £80m but now that it is £45m, let's be a bit objective, Chilwell is 23yrs, with a contract up to four more years, none of the above have that length left in their contract

Ferland Mendy 24yrs £44m
B. Mendy 23yrs £52m
Cancelo 25yrs £59m
Wan-Bissaka 22yrs £50m

Some of them had about two years left in their contract.

Reasons why Chelsea signed Chilwell:

• Dominant Aerially
• Good Positional awareness
• Got pace to bomb forward and track back.
• Very good at pressuring opposition, and closing down players.
• Still young and not the finished article.

Apart from Chilwell adding to the home grown quarter which allows us to sign more foreign players, he is better defensively with respect to EPL than the available options. We had bought foreign LBs but nor, not even the ATM LB we bought then who Cesar still benched.

I feel it's a great signing that would help us improve, I had my doubts but Chilwell is soon a Chelsea player and hopefully be the Ashley Cole many seasons to come.

I like Chilwell, it was the initial asking price by Leicester that was the problem.
