Injury did us dirty but even at that I am really disappointed in Nkunku for not proving himself in previous games. Palmer have being off form for a while now. Fofana, Lavia and Jackson adds spine to the team, they are/were really missed.

I would say, at the minimum, he does pass the eye test on all rudimental midfield attributes. Strength, pace, technique. It remains to be seen how he translates that to tactical football. And also, if he's not just another Doctor.

To be fair, I have not seen that playing style in a very long time. He reminds me of Edgar Davids.

Defensively Nkunku is a liability so having him, Palmer and Enzo in same line up is sure way to lose games. So a solidified midfielder to pair wit Caceido is needed. Nkunku was supposed to be starting instead of Jackson.

Its a chelsea thing, we excel when we play conservatively, most times, it was good for the team but bad for most players including Kovacic. I believe that pattern of play is what this current owner want to eliminate by overhauling the team and signing ball holders in every position.
