Nihilstjnr: “I’ll never forget when Conte courted me for Koulibaly, going up to €58m with Chelsea. I told him, ‘what can I do with €58m?’ Money is a means, not an end. The end is Koulibaly.”
-Aurelio De Laurentiis
This sounds like Conte had a lot more power in the transfer market than I previously thought For sure conte was 50% behind our signing last season. He likes to sign average players and turn them into world class, why? Due to his ego he can not manage world class players, except you are Italian. |

Ibime: Your eye dey there - you picked a good bunch of incoming players, but your outgoings are disagreeable.
Zouma can easily be reabsorbed in a 4 man defence. Our problem with him was he wasn't a technical fit for 3 man defence.
Jorginho is a perfect fit for Kante but with what players cost these days, transfers tend to be more financial than having eye for player. Jorginho price may prove restrictive.
Seri is also very technical. Infact you have highlighted the 2 most fitting partners for Kante on the market this summer.
My only problem with Koulibaly and Seri is I don't trust age of any African player over 25. They might cast by 27 or 28. You are somehow right about zouma, he can only stay if either one of Luiz or Cahil is leaving the club. Koulibaly was born in France so I believe he can’t falsify his birth date only seri is questionable. Drogba and Essien lasted for us though. We have drinkwater to sell to raise half of Jorginho’s money. Jorginho can not be more than 60m pounds. |

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has told the club to move for Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, reports claim. Alonso could leave the Blues if a new manager replaces Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge. And Barca, who are in search of a left-back, appear the idea destination. Don Balon claim Messi has spoken to the Barca top brass to push for a deal for Alonso. He could cost about £40m. He will be more suited in La Liga. CFC should go for Sandro. |

Ibime: Kante, MVG, RLC is a workable midfield
However I prefer to unleash Kante as a B2B midfielder. I saw how Atletico midfield could not cope with him as a B2B.
We are sleeping on a serious upside if we do not utilise him as a B2B My point too. Jorginho as sitting DM Kante as b2b while either of Loftus cheek or fab as AM |

MoR2: off the ball is when you lose the ball and keep having to recover it.
so are you saying Chelsea should keep getting players to play games on the back foot, sit back and soak up pressure
or you want to explain to me the off the ball work rate of KDB and Silva
see, simple advice forget getting jorginho. When you guys hear off the ball movement you think of defending tactics. Mou style of football don configure una mind. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by hensben(m): 1:12pm On May 25, 2018 |
MoR2: jorginho is a 26year old DM, he will wisely pick City over Chelsea.
pick another CM.
yea, you talk about load being too much for VG and RLC. In whose formation and style of play, Conte or Sarri? I mean offball those two work rate is average and the load will be too much for Kante like this concluded season. You know why we won the league last two season? Matic. He shielded the defense for kante to roam the midfield, so it is best we Jorginho a DM/CM who can shield the defense and Kante play box to box because he can run forward and recover as well. Since Sarri prefer three midfielders we can now go for either Loftus cheek as Am or weak Fab depending on the opponent. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by hensben(m): 1:06pm On May 25, 2018 |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by hensben(m): 1:05pm On May 25, 2018 |
MoR2: how!? if Sarri can get Hazard, Willian and Morata (if they stay) firing at all cylinders. Midfield is the heart of football, once it’s below par strikers will starve of the ball and defense becomes vulnerable. We need quality midfielder to pair up with Kante next season and I suggest Jorginho of Napoli. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by hensben(m): 1:02pm On May 25, 2018 |
MoR2: First off I didn't pick that midfield (Kante, Barkley and Van ginkel)
secondly Dier or Fernadinho is not a better DM than Kante.
thirdly the person that picked that midfield preferred Barkley to Fabregas(has had a poor season).
fourthly any midfield can cope against any midfield, besides before this season who knew Silva would play in midfield. if Liverpool can cope with Ox, Henderson, Can or even that other guy wind...***
at first it was even RLC I put there sef not van ginkel.
if Bakayoko can cope against Matic, pogba and herrera I don't see why players with better ball control will not Without the ball players like MVG and Loftus cheek will struggle the load will be too much for Kante. We need a quality CM in person of Jorginho of Napoli to help Kante our next season. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by hensben(m): 11:00am On May 25, 2018 |
MoR2: in terms of what you wrote above without "Sarri" spending one dime (I read he doesn't like transfer windows) his first eleven would be
TCourtios; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Cahill, Emerson; Kante; Barkley, Van Ginkel; Willian, Morata, Hazard.
bench: GK, Christensen, Zouma, Alonso, Zappacosta, Bakayoko, Fabregas, RLC, Moses, Giroud, Batshuayi Tell me how we can win the league with that first IV? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by hensben(m): 10:58am On May 25, 2018 |
MoR2: those teams have been in UCL for the past two to three seasons. their team bang in more goals than Chelsea and play an enviable style of football yet they didn't have to break the bank like city to win the league and Carabao cup or like united and still go trophyless.
money doesn't guarantee victory. if you can't establish your own players then you have a serious problem.
buying one or two "established" players doesn't change the fact that fringe (upcoming) players will be in a starting eleven.
Liverpool is in UCL finals how many "established" players did they buy or have in their eleven Liverpool are spending on players too only Tottenham spend less and we all can see they haven’t won a trophy in a decade now. |
