I would buy the introvert book. I am an introvert and I am American. I am happily married but still an introvert.
It would take some time before the book is being released. Thanks for your interest. wink

I prefer "The Life and Diary of an Introvert". Adopt the American style because Nigerians rarely buy books from Amazon.

Goodluck.
Thanks!

.

I personally feel a title such as "The Journal of an Introvert" or "The Diary of an Introvert" without the "life" should do the trick. It feels like the diary of someone speaks volume about their life anyway. Just an opinion and not a direct response to your question.

"American Style." You will reach a wider audience that way, including the local one the alternative targets.
Thanks for this, seconded indeed!

Yea, I know about writersincharge, run by Bamidele (I think). Somehow, I find the guy's posts hard to believe which is why I stopped visiting the site. Dunno, was hoping to get Nigerian sites.

The only one I know of is infoguidenigeria and the pay is terrible; N500 for 1000 words. However, as far as I know, the site is genuine and the pay comes when due.
I also know of infoguide site and the cost of payment. It's somewhat not appealing and so I couldn't write for them.

I was thinking of writing for Linda Ikeji, Bella Naija and the likes, but I'm not prepared for that now.

Why don't you give it a try?

LiteratureRe: Are you a Freelance Writer - Increase your Earnings with these 6 tips by HiddenManna(m): 6:55pm On Sep 28, 2017
BiafranBushBoy:
Thanks. I hope we can have a wider view to pass the message across. I keep receiving questions about how to improve earnings as a freelancer, that was why I decided to come up with this.

lalasticlala should help this post.
And you know what?

Working as a freelancer is not just working as one! As we know most freelancers work for different organisations, it's not just good or better, but best that, we as freelance writers should not tend to focus on one category or niche alone. I mean, it's best we expand our horizon!

For instance, I mainly write articles, which I really love doing, but I'd like to learn more like copywriting, academic writing, creative writing, essay writing, writing stories, and so much more that pertains to writing. Learning to do all of this things is expanding your horizon.

Since writing is not just a personal career for me or what I'll just call a *sub-career* , I just have a big picture of initiating a writing firm/company by which it will be well known in the writing industry.

Well, just expand your horizon in this writing field and don't stick to one niche alone. Take an adventure!

wink

Hey guys, I feel we should share information here. There are too many scam websites out there and it's no fun spending a lot of time researching and writing articles only to have them rejected, or worse, taken for free.

So I feel we should come together to share a list of genuine Nigeria websites one can write for.

Hmmm. . . Godmother, sites/blogs are not the only platforms one can write for and get paid or not even paid for the work, but there are physical and digital magazines(especially international magazines) and other sources that pertains to writing that one can actually write and get paid for.

That's why I'll refer you to this website: writersincharge.com, and there, you'll find a lot of sites and magazines you'll like to write for, based on various niches. Is it travelling, sport, faith-based or just name it!

The owner of that blog is an inspiration to writers.

Maybe you can check that out.

NoWorries7:
When I taught all links to the demonic world are broken. She crowned me... since two months now, I saw myself backsliding... The joy that was there, when I became a born-again, was gone. I can't play more than five minutes again. Unknown to me, I had been crowned by a siren, in the demonic world. Who has six demonic kids for me. She hid herself undetected for years, only to surface when I gave my life to Christ. If I'm walking, some people will be looking at me strangely. An older man will be greeting me with sir.
And when I started playing against the demonic powers( 10 rings, one staff and a crown)
She came and made her abode in my room.
If I start praying... she will leave and come back when I'm asleep. The main problem, is her presence in my room, is causing me strange sicknesses...
Yesterday night I saw myself barbing my head in SPIRIT. which means the powers are gone.
Only to see my self flying, and being chased by many birds. And a voice saying " They want you as their king"
I managed to kill two birds, before waking up.
When I slept. I saw myself again, in another school with unknown faces again.
Please, you're a born again! Always declare God's word in your life and in every encounter and situations. Words like "it is well" , "No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper and any mouth that stands against you shall be condemned" , "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me" , "I shall not die but live to declare the works of the Lord" etc.

May God see you through and It is well with your soul. Amen.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: I Got A Job Via Nairaland.com. Don't Give Up. by HiddenManna(m): 11:23am On Sep 27, 2017
Pardon, but you all are childish and ignorant with your insults that will do you no good and neither will it secure you good and reliable jobs.

I've said it once on nairaland that it's difficult for some kind of people to get a job. Why? When a job posting is being created, that's when we find people calling it's GNLD or whatsoever. Because of this, many people here on nairaland find it hard to acquire a job for themselves. How ludicrous is that? To those people, no job posting on nairaland are real. Let them sit back and keep on complaining and then getting disappointed.

If I posted a real job for a salary of N2.5 million, who would believe? Because of the huge amount of many, many would call it their usual name; GLND when the job might definitely be authentic.

More so, we still have to be careful on this platform undecided

Hmmm, this job takes my interest. However, what of those living in lagos, but lives a little bit far from the locations you've mentioned?

One would have to consider transportation fee and the likes when it comes to salary.

Hi all! I'm writing a book titled: © The Life and Diary of an Introvert

Actually I was thinking of making it *journal* instead of the word *diary*

What do you all say about this?

Also, do you think it can make much sales? Because [some] people have nothing to do with introverts or being an introvert.

What do you say?

In addition, I'm also thinking of writing it in american style or the native nigerian style.
I tend to write in american style because I want to sell it as an ebook on Amazon. Most americans who by from Amazon never prefer reading books by africans talk less of nigerians.

What do you say about this too?

*Yes, you have to write what Americans want to read. You can make it faster if you write non fiction than if you want to concentrate on fiction.

Canva.com is free. I still used it to make the cover of this my short story yesterday night. Yes, they have stock images that are for sale that you can pick and use, but i don't use any of the paid images. They have a lot of free images. Also, i search google for free images, save them, and upload them on canva for deaign. I have never paid for any images, or for any services on canva.com and i have used the site to make at least 50 book covers.
Wow! That's great.

*Generally, amazon market is 90% american, and Americans don't like buying books with African authors on the cover...well, except you are Chinua Achebe or Chimamanda Adiche.

*Marketing can help tho, but that cost a lot of money on Amazon.
Lol. ok. seems like one has to be writing what Americans like and even their genre. One then has to be familiar with the American culture and way of life.

I just went to canva.com and it's not totally free. Do you personally make payments to get your actual design?

*I don't write poems. I write strictly romance stories...short stories and novelettes.

*I use a website called Canva.com. All my covers are very simple. Nothing complex. You can do it yourself on canva.com.

*To be honest with you, sales are very poor, but i just keep writing and publishing, and knowing that when i build a fanbase, i will start selling. Right now, i sell maybe 2-3 copies of my books total in a month on Amazon. But on Apple's iBooks store, i sell more...like 5-7 copies of my books a month.
Thanks for referring me to that website!

That's pretty challenging. How come your books sell as low as that? (I like to learn from people)

Could it could be poor marketing/advertising?

Lol! Nope. I am not the author of the said book, and I am sure I am not the author of the books used by primary school students. I have not been writing that long.

Yes, i design most (90%) of my book covers myself. And yes, i have books published on kindle.
Oh, ok then.

Maybe you write poems too?

How do you design them, I'll be needing your help in some times to come or in the coming months or so...

Also, how well have you been selling on amazon?

Wow, that's very nice and even your link-to-the-post is thought-provoking.

Nevertheless, I can offer you advice and even tell you that I'm a precocious youth.

As per your post [I mean the link you gave], Instead of waiting to get people to partner with you, because it would take time, candid and concise explanation, and effort to find someone or persons to partner with you, why don't you get a loan from somewhere, such likes; bank, family or friends, money lenders etc.

This might help, but the cons is the time and how to start refunding/paying back.

Morever, I would love to partner with someone too but not at this moment as my plan is to get a loan from the likes I had afore-mentioned.

P.S. I have a big dream and picture of my enterprise as I am making plans to achieve and excel even in a competitive space.

Hello,

I'm thinking of initiating my enterprise, that is; a publishing company. Mainly on book publishing.

I'm doing a lot of research and I need further and detailed information from individuals and fellow members of nairaland:. . .

. Is it a lucrative business?

. What minimum and/or maximum capital is required for starting?

. What are the essential and required materials needed for the business? etc.

If you're an author, you may also have information and answers about this, and so, you could kindly provide detailed information about this business, the publishers ditto.

So, please, I need your help on this. . .
