If you can still use your current operating system, then just use an external storage device ( like an external hard drive or a flash drive depending on the size of your files) to backup the files.

If you can no longer use your OS, then you'll take out the hard drive from your laptop, put it in an external hard drive casing(comes with a USB cable). Plug into another working laptop that has another external storage connected to it. copy your files away to that storage.

In computer village you can get one for a token (usually NGN 200 to NGN 250).

Getting the disk isn't the main issue-genuine or not.

Please, back up, BACKUP, BACKUP your files on an external storage before attempting any formatting process.
If you don't then it'd be really bad. Then you'll start looking for software to recover your files... Then it will be too late.

Of course if you don't need your files, you go ahead without backup...

This has happened so many times on this forum.
The person will be like: "Thanks so much, I've been able to format my laptop but I can't find my files".

Am like: " funke ...

Don't let this happen to you ok

We are going to be booting into safe mode. However we are not going to be doing so via those two screens.

Here's how:

power your computer, immediately begin to tap the F8 key until a list of options appears.
Select SAFE MODE.

Post the next screen that appears... That will determine our next move...

As far as you are in a poly you must learn the practical aspect or else you cant graduate, do u knw i studied psychology. but due to the subject i teach currently, i developed passion for electronics, and i have to say you can learn anything, go online seek for more knowledge on anything you failed to understand,
Register on Quora.com where u can meet experts in EE ask them any question u like and be rest assured they will make sure you understand, also visit youtube and check for EE tutorials on any aspect you want. with determination the sky is you limit.

Hey!. Try to do well in school. But don't waste your time learning any practical, there is a lot of limitation in the feild of EE in Nigeria, 95 percent of EE grads don't practice EE, most of them become IT Engineers. E.t.c My advice to you is to learn, programming on the side (not web dev) any high level programming language, python Java, whatever. Then move on after mastering that to advanced stuffs in Comp sci, e.g Machine learning, Data Visualization, Game Design e.t.c all this can be learnt on Coursera and YouTube. Armed with this skills, you will be valuable anywhere in the world, and you can even do amazing stuffs from the comfort of your home, all with little capital. You'll thank me later for this.

if u feel you cant cope then quit, but i believe that your problem have a solution, why nt make out time to visit a real life electrical workshop, it would be easier to learn frm them, the circuit connection you are talking of is it parallel and series circuit.
