NdPelé, the Brazilian king of soccer who won a record three World Cups and became one of the most commanding sports figures of the last century, died in Sao Paulo on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022. He was 82.

The standard-bearer of “the beautiful game” had undergone treatment for colon cancer since 2021. The medical center where he had been hospitalized for the last month said he died of multiple organ failure as a result of the cancer.

“Pelé changed everything. He transformed football into art, entertainment,” Neymar, a fellow Brazilian soccer player, said on Instagram. “Football and Brazil elevated their standing thanks to the King! He is gone, but his magic will endure. Pelé is eternal!”

Widely regarded as one of soccer’s greatest players, Pelé spent nearly two decades enchanting fans and dazzling opponents as the game’s most prolific scorer with Brazilian club Santos and the Brazil national team.

His grace, athleticism and mesmerizing moves transfixed players and fans. He orchestrated a fast, fluid style that revolutionized the sport — a samba-like flair that personified his country’s elegance on the field.

He carried Brazil to soccer’s heights and became a global ambassador for his sport in a journey that began on the streets of Sao Paulo state, where he would kick a sock stuffed with newspapers or rags.

In the conversation about soccer’s greatest players, only the late Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are mentioned alongside Pelé.

Different sources, counting different sets of games, list Pelé’s goal totals anywhere between 650 (league matches) and 1,281 (all senior matches, some against low-level competition.)

The player who would be dubbed “The King” was introduced to the world at 17 at the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, the youngest player ever at the tournament. He was carried off the field on teammates’ shoulders after scoring two goals in Brazil’s 5-2 victory over the host country in the final.

Injury limited him to just two games when Brazil retained the world title in 1962, but Pelé was the emblem of his country’s World Cup triumph of 1970 in Mexico. He scored in the final and set up Carlos Alberto with a nonchalant pass for the last goal in a 4-1 victory over fans everywhere. As does his trademark goal celebration -- a leap with a right fist thrust high above his head.

Pelé’s fame was such that in 1967 factions of a civil war in Nigeria agreed to a brief cease-fire so he could play an exhibition match in the country. He was knighted by Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II in 1997. When he visited Washington to help popularize the game in North America, it was the U.S. president who stuck out his hand first.

“My name is Ronald Reagan, I’m the president of the United States of America,” the host said to his visitor. “But you don’t need to introduce yourself because everyone knows who Pelé is.”

Pelé was Brazil’s first modern Black national hero but rarely spoke about racism in a country where the rich and powerful tend to hail from the white minority.

Opposing fans taunted Pelé with monkey chants at home and all over the world.

“He said that he would never play if he had to stop every time he heard those chants,” said Angelica Basthi, one of Pelé’s biographers. “He is key for Black people’s pride in Brazil, but never wanted to be a flagbearer.”

Pelé’s life after soccer took many forms. He was a politician -- Brazil’s Extraordinary Minister for Sport -- a wealthy businessman, and an ambassador for UNESCO and the United Nations.

He had roles in movies, soap operas and even composed songs and recorded CDs of popular Brazilian music.

As his health deteriorated, his travels and appearances became less frequent. He was often seen in a wheelchair during his final years and did not attend a ceremony to unveil a statue of him representing Brazil’s 1970 World Cup team. Pelé spent his 80th birthday isolated with a few family members at a beach home.

Born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, in the small city of Tres Coracoes in the interior of Minas Gerais state on Oct. 23, 1940, Pelé grew up shining shoes to buy his modest soccer gear.

Pelé’s talent drew attention when he was 11, and a local professional player brought him to Santos’ youth squads. It didn’t take long for him to make it to the senior squad.

Despite his youth and 5-foot-8 frame, he scored against grown men with the same ease he displayed against friends back home. He debuted with the Brazilian club at 16 in 1956, and the club quickly gained worldwide recognition.

The name Pelé came from him mispronouncing the name of a player called Bilé.

He went to the 1958 World Cup as a reserve but became a key player for his country’s championship team. His first goal, in which he flicked the ball over the head of a defender and raced around him to volley it home, was voted as one of the best in World Cup history.

The 1966 World Cup in England -- won by the hosts -- was a bitter one for Pelé, by then already considered the world’s top player. Brazil was knocked out in the group stage and Pelé, angry at the rough treatment, swore it was his last World Cup.

He changed his mind and was rejuvenated in the 1970 World Cup. In a game against England, he struck a header for a certain score, but the great goalkeeper Gordon Banks flipped the ball over the bar in an astonishing move. Pelé likened the save — one of the best in World Cup history — to a “salmon climbing up a waterfall.” Later, he scored the opening goal in the final against Italy, his last World Cup match.

In all, Pelé played 114 matches with Brazil, scoring a record 95 goals, including 77 in official matches.

His run with Santos stretched over three decades until he went into semi-retirement after the 1972 season. Wealthy European clubs tried to sign him, but the Brazilian government intervened to keep him from being sold, declaring him a national treasure.

On the field, Pelé’s energy, vision and imagination drove a gifted Brazilian national team with a fast, fluid style of play that exemplified “O Jogo Bonito” -- Portuguese for “The Beautiful Game.” His 1977 autobiography, “My Life and the Beautiful Game,” made the phrase part of soccer’s lexicon.

In 1975, he joined the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League. Although 34 and past his prime, Pelé gave soccer a higher profile in North America. He led the Cosmos to the 1977 league title and scored 64 goals in three seasons.

Pelé ended his career on Oct. 1, 1977, in an exhibition between the Cosmos and Santos before a crowd in New Jersey of some 77,000. He played half the game with each club. Among the dignitaries on hand was perhaps the only other athlete whose renown spanned the globe — Muhammad Ali.

Pelé would endure difficult times in his personal life, especially when his son Edinho was arrested on drug-related charges. Pelé had two daughters out of wedlock and five children from his first two marriages, to Rosemeri dos Reis Cholbi and Assiria Seixas Lemos. He later married businesswoman Marcia Cibele Aoki.

A young man who reportedly contracted HIV after tattooing popular crossdresser Bobrisky, is dead.

The sad news was announced on the young man’s Instagram account.

According to the public disclosure made on his IG accounti, the man identified as Ayodeji Adejowa Mufutah had died on the 24th of December 2022.

This comes months after the fan took to social media to call on his idol, Bobrisky to help out after he allegedly got infected with HIV when he tattooed the socialite on his arm.

Bobrisky had however declined helping him as he spilled how ungrateful and thriftless he had been with the money he had previously given him while adding that he never forced him to ink his face on his body.

The fan identified simply as Lordcasted had sadly passed on barely three months after the online drama.

I have just returned from a trip to Yul Edochie 's page , I realised the following;

*I realised that Nigerian women's anger with Judy has nothing to do with May or loving May, No they are angry with Judy for bursting their patterns,
Let me tell you how Nigerian Side chicks dating a successful or wealthy man behave, they low key pray to be the man's wife but unlike Judy they tactfully take the first wife out of the picture first so that way there might not be any backlash, let me give you most recent examples,

1) Rose Meurer; she was dating Churchill na aru Tonto Akpuruka, she successfully worked Tonto out of her home, today she is "happily" the first and only wife yet to Churchill and Nigerian women recently celebrated them yet they are bashing Judy who didn't ask her husband to leave his first wife!

2) Rita Dominic; She had been dating Fide while Fide was still married, she was playing the perfect side chick, she would even borrow Fide money if he needs while he was still married, Subtly making him see she could be more valuable. She loved Fide too much but the fear of Backlash from public if she becomes Fife's Fourth wife wouldn't let her. So she waited in prayers , Fide would divorce the last wife and Would later get married to RiRi in a fairly tale London marriage and Nigerian women did Awwwww.... Yet these women are angry with Judy!!!

3) Ifeoma Rudeboy Okoye; My preliminary investigations show that Ifeoma and Paul Okoye have been dating as far back as early 2020 when he did "REASON WITH ME" and was still married and living with his wife , Paul fell deeper in love with her and it was apparently affecting his family because he became almost absent as he rented a house for Ifeoma around his estate and spent more time with her, subtly frustrated the other wife and made arrangements for them to move to USA and subsequently Divorce and he is living happily with Ifeoma and might get married! Yet you are angry with Judy for not playing her cards well by not working on Yul to divorce May, then he waits a little few months marries JUDY and Nigerians will awww awww the Union!

4) (EDIT) MERCY JOHNSON OKOJIE; She was dating Prince while Prince was stil married to his first Wife
Ruth, noticing Prince is not Bad Afterall, he took him to herself and wedded in the Nigerian Christ Embassy Church, Ruth cried and wrote to Church etc , Today Ruth is history and Nigerian women are using Mercy Johnson as a point of Contact in marriage, yet they are bashing Judy for not stealing totally to herself!!
Their anger with Judy is that she didn't do it their way! They are angry with her that she broke the "Sidechicks Code" .

If you awwwedd any of the above unions you have no reason attacking Judy ! Yes you don't !

NB; Judy and Yul dated for 6 good years before marriage, she never allowed that affect Yul's first family, she had every opportunity to "Work" on Yul to begin to hate his first wife and eventually divorce but she never did any of these, she happily accepted to be numbered without wrecking his first home !

I am beginning to think that Judy is a good girl after all apart from leaving her first husband though, I think she has small Fear of God! She encourages Yul to show up for his family always , She recognises and respects May !

Women naturally love food that’s a verifiable fact. That’s why you’ll hear so many women say “my love language is food” or you’ll hear some say “anyone who brings me food gets my attention” and i thinks that’s so true about them, so i so no reason why they won’t be more interested in the food than the actual date when they go on a date.

Ideally a date is supposed to be a time to bond and communicate not necessarily about the food, and I’m not saying the food being part of it isn’t a good thing but the most important aspect of a date is the part where the two people on a date get to bond and know each other better, that’s in a case where they recently just met.

But i think African women and women from Nigeria especially see dates as an opportunity to eat to their fill and also eat the type of food they have never eaten before.

I came across a tweet about a guy who was on a date with a certain lady who told him that she goes on at least four dates every week, wow, that’s enough food for her to eat.

If i decide to list all the reasons why as a guy you should run away from high maintainance ladies the list will be endless, for me i think high maintainance ladies are gluttons, greedy, wicked and other wrong thing you can use to describe a person who doesn’t care about you, that’s exactly what high maintainance ladies are.

Now the funny part of high maintainance ladies is they are mostly jobless, they don’t have their own steady source of income but they want to be highly maintained by someone elses income how selfish can one be, i think that’s the height of selfishness.

Another annoying aspect of these set of people is that they actually don’t want to work, and to be frank with you we have more of this kind of individuals in Africa and Nigeria to be very precise. These people do not care even a little about you, all the care about is your money and the many ways you’re gonna spend it on them. Once the money is gone, they are also gone in a blink of an eye and are onto the next guy who has the money to keep up with their maintainance.

The attributes of a high maintainance lady is just the same as the attributes of a lady who is after your money, just like i listed in my previous article, so there will be no need need doing another listing.

Let me tell you what women really want in one word, “comfort”. When a woman finds comfort that is where she parks her bus like the special one (Jose Mourinho). Women love comfort there’s no argument about that I’ve seen women endure abuse with a man just because of comfort. They don’t want to let go of it, no matter what they have to endure, they prefer to endure it that to lose a comfort they already have. They are not quick to let go of the expensive shoppings, expensive dinner dates, a comfortable house and every other thing you can think of even if it means enduring abuse from the provider of this comfort.

I can say this because of recent i read about a lady who endured serious abuse from her boyfriend to the extent that she was placed in the intensive care unit at one time because of the physical abuse she received from her boyfriend. On three occasions she he apologized, and guess what! She forgave him.

She never told us why she forgave him tho but i believe you can add one plus one together and it’s gonna give you two. There’s a part of the story that talks about how he lavishes her with expensive things, and so you can see for your self why she kept on forgiving him.

The story would have taken a different turn if the guy in question was broke and couldn’t afford her the comfort she wanted, trust me she would have gotten him arrested on the first abuse.

With all this said all i was trying to drive at is the fact that what women need primarily is comfort.
