A snapdragon 820 with 4kyrocores are beasts and still beat some other phones with octacore... I gat you bro sd820 might have over 130k benchmark while kirin is not even up to 100k,thats all because of the mild GPU....the kirin is faster in cpu performance...check that screenshot,its a speed test from techradar...buh that of Helio is glaring compared to sd650...Helio uses same 2a72@ higher clocked frequency and 8a53@a higher clocked frequency also...and about efficiency the 20nm is more efficient than 28nm....and about clockspeed tell me why Qualcomm wan increase the sd820 speed by making it sd821,mi5s with sd821 scored 164k compared to the sd820 or what about apple a9x @2.1ghz in iPad pro and a9@1.8ghz in iPhone 6s,that 300hz frequency did make a great difference...maybe you should lookup some speed test at phonebuff and techradar then you can understand that real world experience of kirin compared to the likes of g5,htc10 sd820


The only sd820 phone I respect is the OnePlus 3 and that's because it has a stock like UI and 6gb ram making it the Android speed test champion till date even beating the exynos...it even came close to apple a9 in 6s...so without 6gb ram..., SD 820 is no faster than kirin o

Brother let me let you on something concerning those processors...the Helio x20 uses 2*a72@2.3ghz ,4*a53@2.0ghz and 4*a53 at 1.6ghz while the sd650 is jez a kid to this with 2*a72@1.8ghz and 4*a53@1.4ghz....so tell me comparing a decacore using a 20nm architecture wif one using 28nm and at a higher clocked speed with a lesser one....bro,even meizu mx6 with a lesser clocked x20@1.8ghz still better pass that 650 of yours with miles...both in AnTuTu and Geekbench

And moreover if not for the mild GPU capabilities in the x20/25 and kirin 955,had it been it's using maliT880mp12 like the exynos it will be on par with both exynos8890 and sd820...coz as far is speed is concerned in android Na the exynos followed by kirin wey be dey share scores with Helio dey rule...

Tecno Phantom 6 DOES not have a fingerprint scanner nor an Iris Scanner instead it spots 13mp and 5mp dual camera and an 8mp front facing camera while the Phantom 6plus has just a fingerprint scanner with only a 21mp rear camera and 8mp front facing camera...

Processor...both phone uses same processor architecture coz both are cortex a53 jez different manufacturer and clock speed...c9@1.3 while j7@1.4 and almost the same benchmarks result as regards other mtk6753 like infinix note 2

Display... The c9 has a fullHD while J7 is HD which makes the camon better

And as for camera, there is no need to deliberate on that cox the c9 is surely better

Price...the camon c9 is less compared to j7

UI...the c9 is marshmallow while J7 is lollipop buh have better chances of getting update which makes the j7 win in this area

Durability...Samsung phones are durable and have more premium feel than tecno phones....

So it's up to you but as for me I will choose the c9 and keep the remaining change for myself..#user of boom j8

CAMERA--- The camera is quite cool with outdoor pictures. As in very COOL.. But not too cool with indoor pics. Indoor pics are kinda blurred but I can pass with that cos it's not that bad and I ain't much of a selfie pic taker.

SCREEN - - - The screen seems not to respond when typing at times. It has occurred several times and it sucks. Cos it makes chatting boring to me now. But I'm trying to get used to it but personally trying to get it fixed though.



GAMES - - - The phone is s cool with games.. I've got fifa 14,15,16 MC5, UFC, candy crush, subway surfer..... That's all the fone can take cos .. You can't move apps to SD and thats affecting me badly...



BATTERY - - - - as stated it works like a 3000mah battery.... 6hrs does it for me with the battery.(watching movie, downloading, chatting n playing game) ... I'm much of a heavy user so my power bank never leaves my sight


All in all its a nice phone. The design is top notch... The only major issue is the screen and yes u can live with it. Cos I am living with it... So go grab ur copy

BustScam, I have never been a fan of the likes of Techno, Gionee and other related phones but I must confess that the Gionee Marathon M5 Mini is the best phone is the class of such phones.
I don't own one though.

Its got 4G LTE capability
Its got 2GB RAM
Its got 16GB internal memory
Its got a 4000Mah battery (the Boom J8 is 3000Mah)
Its got a 8MP camera, 5MP front camera (*coughs* we all know that the likes of Techno and Gionee camera specifications can't be compared to the likes of Samsung, HTC with same specs though)

And its price is 32K!

That price for me is what's making the phone sell out! So Techno needs to review their price, if Gionee M5 mini is going for 32K then no sane customer would pick it a Boom J8 over M5 Mini.



PS: Nsonaso, Please what phone are you using? The screengrab you posted to disprove the battery strength of the Boom J8 shows a phone with a good battery life, I wanna know which phone please. Thanks.

Abeg shut up...why u dey lie..d phone is 40k and uses mtk6580 that uses cortex a7 while the j8 uses a beta a53....better camera on the j8 also...better design...the only edge is the 4000amh.....nothing more and remember the j8 music capabilities....so pack well...gionee m5 mini is comparable to infinix hot 3 2gb ram variant and not the j8...the only competitor out there that beats j8 is infinix note 2 lte as for the price and no oda phone as far as Nigeria is concerned....tecno really tried wif these asnd don't 4get the boom headset

Nice analysis of the phone but for a 13 mp, i should honestly say i expected more, like the okada pic, i am damn sure, if we zoom in on the woman at the end of the road, the pic would get blurry and with a 13 mp, it should be very good pictures not average all round performance, i love ur analysis as you broke everything down but they seriously need to work on their camera, sorry to compare but an Iphone 5s 8 mega pixel camera would murder that okada pic, the details you get is very good, i was expecting with a 13 mp, at least something near if not better than the 5s, sorry but this is my constructive criticism, thanks man..
