Iraq Officially Approves Christmas National Holiday By Olugbenga Ige - December 25, 2018 Iraqis. AFP The Iraqi government has approved a law to mark Christmas Day, December 25, as an official holiday across the country, according to a statement released on Monday. The Iraqi Cabinet voted on an amendment to the national holidays law in the country that Christmas Day is a holiday for all Iraqis, and not only for the Christian community, as it had been for decades. “Happy Christmas to our Christian citizens, all Iraqis and to all who are celebrating around the world,” the Iraqi government said on Twitter. Before the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, there were about 1.4 million Christians in the country. However, their numbers have dwindled to roughly 300,000 after hundreds of thousands fled the country following violence and attacks by various armed groups over the years. https://www.concisenews.global/2018/12/25/iraq-officially-approves-christmas-national-holiday/amp/ |

Aside Adeboye, the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, many state governors attended the Carol. The Carol tagged “Christmas Praise Concert”, was also attended by Wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha. The first Bible reading taken from Luke 2:18 –18, was read by Mrs Victoria Gowon, wife of the former Head of State, Gowon, while the second reading taken from Isaiah 7:14–15, 9:6–7, was read by Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State. DIVINE PRIORITY. MEMORISE: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 READ: Philippians 2:5-13 5 MESSAGE: There is a big disconnect between the priorities many people set for themselves and the priorities the Almighty God has set for their lives. Unless we understand God’s priorities for our lives, we will stumble and stumble in life, and God forbid that we stumble out of His will for us in this world and in the hereafter. Our memory verse clearly tells us that seeking the kingdom of God should be the basis of all our priorities in life. We have God’s promise that when this is the case, all other things will fall in line. Today’s Bible reading reveals to us how our Lord Jesus Christ prioritized His mission of redeeming mankind through His death, so much so that He was ready to go through humbling and humiliating experiences for the purpose of fulfilling His assignment. Philippians 2:6-8 vividly describes the extent to the sacrifice Jesus made because of the priority He placed on His mission: “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” What a great sacrifice! Even when Jesus went to be baptized by John the Baptist, John did not want to baptize Him as he did not count himself worthy of even untying Jesus’ shoe lace, but Jesus insisted on being baptized because of the priority He placed on fulfilling His mission. To Him, His mission was important enough to set aside His status (Matthew 3:13-15). I pray that your mind will indeed reflect the mind of Christ in attitude, motive and priority in Jesus, Name. If you want God to take pre-eminence in your life, you need to seek His will and do it. Doing the will of God may appear foolish to the world, but unless we are ready to become foolish in the matters of this world, we will not be able to live by divine priority; rather, we will always end up putting the cart before the horse (1 Corinthians 1:18-21). Living according to divine priority entails courage. It took courage for Jesus Christ to face the Cross and die for the sins of mankind. This is why I am puzzled when I see children of God arguing with the word of God when the word is “encroaching” on their so-called right to live as they please. It is unfortunate that in the world today, a preacher becomes unpopular the moment he or she begins to preach against those things that distract from living according to divine priority, but this ought not to be so if we really want to enjoy the fullness of God in our lives. Beloved, seek first God’s interest in all your endeavors, and you will not make mistakes or be disappointed. PRAYER POINT: Father, please give me the grace to give You Your rightful position PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE (OHD, 9/12/18) |
TOPIC: CHRISTIANS AND POLITICS (PART 2) BIBLE PASSAGE: 2Samuel 23:1-4 INTRODUCTION: In our previous lesson, we highlighted some misconceptions held by some Christians in some circles. We also examined some of the reasons Christians should be involved in politics from biblical perspective. In today’s lesson, we shall attempt to guide Christians with genuine intentions on how to be practically involved in politics and avoid the pitfalls. HOW TO BE INVOLVED IN POLITICS Christians should note that it is their civic right and responsibility under the law (Titus 3:1, 1Peter 2:13-14) to vote and be voted for (Deuteronomy 1:13). Therefore, every eligible Christian should register with the relevant electoral body in order to participate during elections. In addition, it is important for Christians to be ‘card carrying’ members of any political party of preference. By so doing, Christians can contest and be voted into elective positions or influence the choice of their representatives for elective positions (Exodus 18:21). To join a political party, you need to get information. Visit the websites of the parties available in your country or the respective party secretariat within your locality. Go through their detailed profiles to know the party’s ideology and manifesto. Fill a party registration form and provide supporting documents/payments as may be required. A membership card will be issued to you as confirmation. Attend party meetings regularly and actively in order to be a voice to be reckoned with. Christians aspiring for elective leadership positions should be sure to have a leading, burden or passion to serve the people and solve problems (1Samuel 17:29,34-37; Nehemiah 2:1-5). Christians may also prayerfully join or support an advocacy group (Esther 4:8,13-14) or form a political party with people of like-minds (1Samuel 22:2, Daniel 2:49). THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR IN POLITICS Christians who are into politics, or aspiring to hold political posts, should be prayerful and watch out for pitfalls to avoid soiling their garments (1Corinthians 15:33). They should therefore: 1. Desist from any thought or act of wickedness. Politics is not a do or die affair (Proverbs 16:12). 2. Avoid prayerlessness (James 5:16b-18, Psalm 91:15, Daniel 6:10). Our adversary is not resting, be sober and vigilant (1Peter 5: .3. Shun all foolishness: get the necessary qualifications or experience (James 1:5; 1Samuel 17:34-37) and act wisely (Matthew 10:16). 4. Never dabble into politics without a godly burden or passion (Nehemiah 2:1-5). 5. Avoid compromise: stand by your godly virtues and principles (1Corinthians 10:31). Distinguish yourself and do not be hypocritical (1Corinthians 6:17; Romans 12:2). 6. Be resolute in the face of persecution and propaganda (Nehemiah 4:3,6; Nehemiah 6:5-7; Daniel 6:11-14). 7. Avoid abuse of power. Do not be tyrannical (2Chronicles 26:16-18). CONCLUSION Join a political party today and be a Christian of influence. adapted from RCCG S/Schl Dept |

bamac:Thanks. I don't have problem with backup, since the other phone with all the chats, is still with me. I am only concerned if code would be sent to the lost line if I am using a different device for the same WhatsApp line |
Nbote:Let Obigotry or "younger" Atiku step out doing this before the grand commander will appear. |
Hello here. I have a little challenge right now. I just lost my what'ssap line. I use this line for WhatsApp only. I just got a new phone and would love to transfer all the chats into the phone (from the current old one). My challenge is this: is it possible to do the above without what'ssap asking me to confirm one code to be sent to the lost line |
seunmsg:Tell them. The atikulooted brains will never reason that way. By next February ending, it would be "Biafra or nothing" signal, when Mbaise and staunch Anglican PDP candidate must have been thoroughly lashed |
