Prayer leads to a false sense of accomplishment. That false sense of accomplishment stymies action to address real world problems.

While the main purpose of prayer may be to help others, it never demonstrably does that. Prayers benefit only those believers who say or hear them. Prayer gives them comfort. It lets them think they have some control over a situation that may be out of their hands. It’s the last resort of people who have run out of ideas, and the first resort of people who never bothered to think about how they could actually fix the problem at hand.

It is illogical, even in religious terms. If God has a plan, why try to thwart it? If God can be swayed by prayers, what kind of God would allow the horrors we see in the world? And if two devout believers pray for different things, how does God choose the winner?

In Conclusion Prayer is useless and as such does not give or make someone powerful

The write up was taught at a bible study I attended I only shared it so we all could learn from it. Also, for those in troubled marriages to be able to work at resolving their marriage problems, and to know divorce is not the answer.
Having said that, consider what Jesus said in mark 10:2-6,9, from my own understanding of these words I could say he never gave any ground for divorce he only emphasized on Moses command which he gave as a result of the pressure mounted on him by his people.
If adultery were biblical grounds for divorce consider what Jesus said in Matthew 5:27-27, from Jesus' definition of adultery most men are adulterer. This gives every wife biblical right to divorce her husband on the ground of adultery.
I respect your opinion but I think I have a contrary one.

well my brother,you have said it all,you said in your own understand ,well thats your own understanding of the text or maybe thats what you were thought at the bible study you attended ,you qouted marks account of the dialogue between jesus and the pharisees,lets look at mathews account of the same dailogue,in mt 19;9 we can see that jesus CLEARLY made it known that divorce could be allowed in the case of unfaithfulness or adultery(depending on which version you are reading from),its a whole different thing altogether if the other party in the spirit of a christian decides to forgive his or her partner.thats entirely a different issue,the question shpould be,simple put,is divorce allowed in a christian marriage? well mathew 19,9 has the answer.Having said that i still stand by what i said in my earlier comment,that i do not support divorce and i pray most especially for the brothers and sisters who are really having various challenges in their marriages,that they should know that the grace is always there for us and its enough to see us through,just for the records to be put straight.shalom.

What about all the other sins that one's spouse may commit? Does that provide a grounds for divorce? No, not according to the Lord. Jesus taught in Matthew 18:22 to forgive, 70 times 7. Divorce is the sin of hate, unforgiveness and hypocrisy.

I dont agree with you there,jesus was clear when he was teaching about marriage and divorce and he did allow room for divorce only in a case of adultery,having said that i must commend you for a well written article,its never easy especially for those who are having one challenge or the other in their marriages but the truth is that the grace of God is always there for those who believe,,shalom.

I booked a flight with Royal Air Maroc Airways from Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos to Sao Paulo Brazil with an onward confirmed ticket to Mexico through Avianca airline(i have a 6months Mexican tourist visa and was to transit within just 4 hours in Sao Paulo).
On the 23rd of March,I went to the airport to board with my ticket but to my utter dismay, I was denied boarding, Reason being that i needed a brazilian transit visa if i am to board with them(when initially I was informed I didn't need any transit visa before I paid for the ticket).As a result, I missed my flight on that 23rd March and had to pay my agent upto 400 USD for the rescheduling of the two flight tickets.
During this time, I went to the brazilian embassy to apply for the brazilian visa, but they gave me a letter with the signature of the brazilian consulate stating that I do not need a transit visa to transit through mexico even for upto 24 hours so far I am not leaving the airport.
I was happy and rescheduled my flight for this past monday (Easter monday) and went with the letter to the ALML officials who boards the air maroc flight and there again the letter from the brazilian consulate was thrown aside.And this time they showed me a message from the royal air maroc manager demanding that they should not board anyone without a brazil tourist visa, even if the person will transit through brazil for just an hour, and all these without a prior notice.
This have really caused me lots of damages and as it stands now, I swear to take them to court this coming week and will see to it they pay for the damages even I this is the last thing I did with my life

The first time i flyed with airmaroc was last december and i swore never to fly with them again,if not that you have already spent so much with them i would have adviced you fly another airline,its not as if they have a better service,i think you have a case if you finally decides to sue them,airmaroc as an airline is absolute trash.
