VC Flees As Workers Protest Over Unpaid
Allowances
Rampaging Staff Call for Asuzu, Bursar’s
Removal

Miffed by non-payment of allowances and
non-remittance of tax deducted from salaries
to the statutory quarters, the staff of the
Federal University, Oye Ekiti Thursday
protested against the Vice Chancellor, Prof
Isaac Asuzu over what they described as poor
conditions of service .
The staff , who had massed at the institution's
main gate as early as 7am, blocked the Ado-
Lokoja-Abuja federal highway and made
bonfires right in the middle of the road in
protest to vent their anger over the disparity in
salaries payable in the university compared to
other federal institutions.
They called on President Goodluck Jonathan to
immediately sack the Vice Chancellor and the
Bursar for allegedly running the institution
in secrecy and creating atmosphere of enmity
and suffering for workers.
