Ournolly:

Nvme is much faster than sata but like twice the price.
Also, why do you need external ssd?
Isn't it better to add it as the second drive inside your pc?
It's far batter to have a second ssd drive then then you hdd as a movable storage.

Yes I have reconsidered this too.
SSD offer more value internally than as an external drive.

What capacity do you need?
You prefer sata ssd or nvme?

I don't really mind if you explain the difference between them.

I just need something to backup my stuff

Thanks

What I wanted to ask is would it also affect all levels of earners in private sector ie those with 200k upwards monthly etc?

Nazgul:

Excel is elementary. Download power BI and learn how to visualize clean and your data with it.

Then download SQL and it's database (adventure works and adventure works data management) this will help you work with sample data.

Finally, learn python. Data analysts with knowledge in Python are priced higher world wide in terms of payment than an ordinary data analyst with knowledge in just Excel and Power BI.

Good luck on your journey.

I beg to differ but Excel isn't elementary.

There are a lot of businesses that rely ton excel and without it. So much would be lost. I use the triad of data analytics tools and excel by far is the most important in my organisation.

Worthy to mention that this particular job didn't push me to the limits as I initially envisaged. I was stagnant but I acknowledged my situation with solutions to remedy it.

Not to deter my ambition, I worked harder, skilled up, build projects and networked(very important as when opportunity meets preparation, success ensues). I was able to get an analyst role in a bank this year which is currently ideal for my career.

It was never easy to be honest, the journey is fraught with perseverance, frustration, depression too. But never relent.

Many of us are really really good at what we do. Opportunity is what lacks, the demand is skewed especially in the junior roles where supply is less than demand. The story changes as you ascend to the upper echelons. But getting in is the biggest challenge most newbies face.

Hinokami:

Didn't get any formal interviews. Was recommended for a job unrelated to Data but the need for a data analyst arose and since they already knew from the previous interview for the initial position that I dabbled in Data analysis, they set up another interview for the Data analyst position. Passed and got the job.

Mostly advanced excel stuff (formulas, v-lookup, data entry, tweaking customized excel templates).

For my own sake I optimized so many processes(collection, cleaning, analysis, presentation) to make my job easier, could have used python but I was weak in excel and decided to actually master excel, later on I shifted my workload to Power BI because of Power query but I could still use excel to do what I needed.

NOTE: They don't actually care what software or tech stack you use. Just get them the data they need when they request.

I hope my little experience helps. Anyone is free to ask questions.

It is well, they should just make a decision fastidiously so that those affected would know their fate and finally move on or stay.

The psychological torment is beyond breaking point.

That place has frustrated those new staff employed last year to no end.

No news and it seems their APLs will never be acknowledged. Although some parties are making efforts to get recognition and be reinstated as staff.

Please is it advisable to be shuttling Ikorodu to CMS Marina thrice a week.

I am new in lagos and rent prices are irritating me. The only succor I've found so far is ikorodu as the houses are spacious and cheaper.

Note I am not mobile yet. So I plan on using public transport.

This is sad because she would have gone far if she entered early. Someone whom we follow topics on this thread together got a bank job and the offer made him say he would never consider any FG job again. Now na only me dey scoll this thread grin grin

ParamilitaryII:
Yes, may God help us. My younger cousin was discouraged from applying to banks after graduating with a 2.1 at a young age, despite her academic excellence. After getting married, she eventually ended up in a local microfinance paying below 50k. When I was home this festive period, I asked her if she now works in a bank, and she responded, "Na bank I dey work now." It's truly disheartening to witness a young person's potential hampered due to a lack of proper information.

I wish I saw this response earlier, anyways I do not think it would hinder my chances of getting the offer, i believe i did what is right.

Dogshow:
Op, I've got this best advice for you.

Kindly tell them that, "Due to the confidentiality agreement signed at my current employer which mandates me to keep my renumeration between myself and my employer, I am bound by oath not to share this information."

OR

They should let you know if this response of yours would be a blocker in processing with this process as they may need to write to your employer to waive this NDA.

Best regards.

Provide the exact payslip you have and don't alter it. Wherever they ask that this not what you told them, reply by telling them the other allowancs are not captured in the payslip.

Done so already. Thank you

My advice, don't forge any document and don't give it to them.

Tell them that you are not allowed to discuss your pay while still in the service of the company. Providing the document will contravene such.

Ensure your response are professional and straight to the point.

I hope that during the interview you only gave them a ballpark figure not an exact figure?

No.. I gave them an exact figure.. They have standard rate of pay for their staff.. I just hope they want to only use it to confirm my place of work.

I sent them the real pay slip, allowances excluded.

What is the purpose of the payslip request? Is it to 'price down' the applicant or to ascertain that the applicant was employed in the role disclosed?

I know a case where an applicant provided the requested payslips but sensitive information (salary redacted) redacted as this would have been in breach of the Non Disclosure Agreement signed with the former company. The candidate was successful with the application.

I think sharing bank statements is too much information to give.
They actually called me that if I don't have the slip I should provide my bank statement.. That's too much information to give out so I sent the slips

My advice to you is that you should talk to someone in your current company's accounting department, someone who won't cast you. Those accountants are the ones that can help you out. Potentially you have gotten a new job. Act fast bro, good luck to you.

I have no plans to continue with the charade.. I've sent the real pay slip already.
