TV/MoviesRe: 'African Queen' Song In Hollywood Movie 'Phat Girlz' by hipcaramel(f): 1:43pm On Feb 05, 2006
AfricanQueen:
I went to see the movie Something New (which was good by the way) and they showed a preview for Monique's new movie Phat Girlz. In the movie monique starts dating a man from Nigeria, but its so obvious the man is not really Nigerian sad. Anyways in the background African Queen was playing. It was so weird that they were playing 2 face in an american movie. I'm telling you to face is doing big things for himself. Anyways check out the preview at

http://movieweb.com/ and in the search box type in Phat Girlz
thanks girl! i just saw the trailer and i cant wait to see the movie!!! i'm so proud of TuFace!! he's really going places and you can bet that movie will take him higher cos people are gonna wanna see that movie for real. really tite. i like Monique too. CANT WAIT!!!!!!
CrimeRe: My Female Friend, A Virgin, Was Raped By Robbers by hipcaramel(f): 11:06pm On Jan 25, 2006
it's a very admirable thing that she was saving herself for marriage and very painful that what she held dear was taken from her by force and by someone (or people, even more painful) so so undeserving. it's a good thing you're her friend so u can encourage her. remind her that it was not her fault and just be there to help her through it but be extra careful when you're around her. female rape victims tend to be quite apprehensive of guys because of the trauma they've experienced. just be there for her and when she tells you she needs space, just give it to her but dont be too far away; be close enough so that when you see she needs you, you can show up for her on time.

best of all, pray for her that God will give her the grace and the strenght to get through this terrible ordeal. be strong.

Music/RadioRe: Learning How To Sing? by hipcaramel(f): 6:50pm On Jan 22, 2006
i think in learning to sing, you can start by singing along with any musician your voice feels most comfortable with. if i were learning to sing and i started by singing along to Mariah Carey's songs, i wouldnt even be able to speak at all cos my vocal chords would just be destroyed. on the other hand, if i started singing along with Brandy, i would be comfy and from there start to find my own voice. most artists, when telling their biography, start off by saying they used to listen to, say, Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, Billie Holiday or any of the other great DIVAS of old and sing along to their music but if u notice, these artists dont sound like the people they used to sing along to. they found their own voice.

the key is to look for a comfortable place and start building yourself from there. you wont hit every note on the first try but with time, dedication and discipline, you'll get there.
FamilyRe: Friendship: What Is It To You? by hipcaramel(f): 6:37pm On Jan 22, 2006
friendship is a really beautiful gift. when u've got good friends, they're a really wonderful blessing. like you rightly said, Otokx, not every1 i know is categorised as a friend. i've been blessed with good friends, really good friends, and they're so special to me. they've helped me through alot in my life and i dont know what i would have done without them. they're truly a blessing to me from God.

simply put, Friendship is a gift from God.
InvestmentRe: Retirement Plan by hipcaramel(f): 11:02pm On Jan 20, 2006
i dont seem to understand Seun's stance on this subject. you're never too young to start a retirement plan. even if u have to open an account just for that purpose and be depositing money in there little by little. thanks to Soludo's solution, our banks are now stronger. u could make it a savings account so u can gain interest on it and when u feel it has grown into something large enough, u could decide to move it into a fixed deposit account. that way u cant take anything out of it till the specified time. buying stocks/shares (be careful to invest in a good/strong company), real estate (if you've gotten to that level) is also another good way of planning for retirement; property always appreciates.

for christians that pay 10% of their earnings as tithe, u can also decide to save up another 10% for your future and live off the remaining 80%. it's easier said than done but with proper discipline, u can do it.

u can start with any amount and build from there. the best thing is to start while you're still young and even if you're not so young, it's never too late to start.

Music/RadioRe: Omarion Vs Mario by hipcaramel(f): 6:07pm On Jan 19, 2006
Omarion has got this one hands down. i mean, i knew he could dance but when i saw "touch", i was blown away. it was so so so so so so so so so so so good. brother can move any which ways. Mario is good, but Omarion is BETTER!!!! i am so feeling him. i saw him on Nick Cannon's "wild and out"; not only can he dance, he's got jokes as well.
RomanceRe: Inter-tribal Marriages: What's Your Take? by hipcaramel(f): 5:40pm On Jan 19, 2006
i'm all for inter-tribal marriages. most of the guys i know and grew up with were not from the same culture as me so i learned to appreciate other cultures. whenever i see a name like Mrs. Joke Chukwuma, for instance, i feel happy inside. it just gives me joy. yeah, there are language and cultural differences (i don't like to think of them as barriers), but that's what makes the union even more beautiful because the children have a better understanding and appreciation of the different cultures. it's a very welcome union to me.

Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Bimbo Odukoya in Sosoliso Plane Crash by hipcaramel(f): 11:46am On Dec 12, 2005
it's really tragic and sad. the Loyola students that died, those that were to make the future of Nigeria better and brighter. Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, a woman of substance that inpacted the lives of many youths and adults alike. her ministry has helped and still helping us make the right decisions in our relationships and marriages. they will all be missed especially Pastor Bimbo. what we all should do now is ensure that her ministry and teachings are not in vain. we all should adhere to her teachings on relationships and marriage.

Pastor Bimbo, even though you've gone to be in a better place devoid of pain and misfortune and all bad and evil things, you will always be missed. We love you.
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Nigeria Coming up March 2006 by hipcaramel(f): 10:46am On Dec 09, 2005
wrong timmy. everyone in the house is going to be nigerian. no other africans, strictly nigerians. that's why it's called BIG BROTHER NIGERIA. when all the housemates were south africans, it was called BIG BROTHER SOUTH AFRICA and when the housemates came from all over africa it was called BIG BROTHER AFRICA. get the difference? i really don't mind the idea; my only qualms is with the shower and dressing up scenes but personally i don't think they'll be allowed to show all those scenes, nigerians being quite conservative people and NBC would certainly have a problem with it. as for the prize money, why aint ya'll getting on the cases of all the other reality shows in nigeria (they're increasing daily). prize money is prize money whether it's $10 or $100,000. moreover, the money isnt coming from the nigerian government, it's coming from multichoice. it should be fun!!

TV/MoviesRe: Is Anyone Into Indian Movies? by hipcaramel(f): 11:03pm On Dec 02, 2005
