obitee69: Well maybe our delays are caused by what is currently happening in stanbic. The chairman Atedo peterside and MD David borha and 3 major directors have been suspended indefinitely by FRC for fraudulent practices. I guess these negative events could affect recruitment. #prayforstanbic the suspension is recent and this delay has been there siiiinnnccceeee. I also pray likewise that the negative events don't affect the process. Even the suspension of the right issue that would have availed them more funds for expansion. |

Chi59: Same issue i'm facing as well. The result for a course i wrote in 300lvl has been missing till date. I've been wondering how i'll re-write the exam, as it is one of the most bulky and one of the most complicated courses i've ever written. just imagine... Now they expect you to read that in addition to the cuRrent semester courses, do d TMAs and write d exam |

bandol: @op, Hiploko: bringing ur matter here would further complicate ur matter. Most people here don't understand noun system. They are already skeptical about d schl this will further spoil d image of the institution I understand. But most peopla have exhausted all means on complaint but to no avail. The school needs to wake up becos their image is not better than the sufferings students go through for missing results. These courses are paid for. |

Omotolu: Request for your statement of result at the Exam and Assessment Department, V.I.. The missing scores may likely not be missing. That's what I did while one of my courses was missing. You don't need to bring that minor issue to Nairaland. That is a minor issue. how minor is this minor issue? You have approached ur study center and they tell u dey dnt knw wat to do. You send mail to NOUN complaint e-mails and no response. You check your portal and you see former courses you wrote well appearing as missing TMA link. And then you remember how hard it was for you to write d exam by way of expenses, sneaking out of work etc and u say it is minor. A problem affecting majority of NOUN students isn't minor my dear |

richdaflux: If its certain that all the students in an SC got all their results missing, then, I'm afraid, the most likely cause could be a batch of scripts missing in transit. This issue isn't peculiar to just NOUN, but considering scripts movement from various SCs to a central location, its possible for such an issue to occur sparingly. My advice is to make your complaints and retake the course. Note: if a result reads "pending", it means you should wait.
As students, while you have a reason to complain and register your genuine grievance, do your own part by: 1. Registering early. Not on the day of exams. This causes issues during compilation. 2. Please write your details legibly. When your "2" starts looking like "5", there's no way missing results won't knock on your door.
Old/new students will realise that the management is taking active steps in correcting this issue. An example is the pre-printed attendance sheet, where you just look for your name and sign. It wasn't like this before. Secondly, what is done now is called conference marking, where all the scripts and markers are put in one hall. No script leaves/enters the hall. good initiatives |

richdaflux: Let's assume I speak as an authority on this issue. As someone very close to management; its a known fact that, more often than not, students do the following (remember, its a fact, not an hearsay): 1. Students deliberately write the wrong Matric Number on their scripts, as soon as they realise they'll most likely fail the course. 2. The only thing that ties your result to you, is your matriculation number, which a lot of students refuse to write legibly. There are even cases where students completely forget to fill their details on their scripts. 3. One way to prove you actually took an exam, is signing the attendance register. Some students are often in a haste to leave the exam hall without signing out. If there's no proof you sat for an exam, how do you expect the management to trace your result/script?
The above is based on facts and proofs. how would you explain that 2 courses for all the students in an MBA class got missing? They wrongly filled matric number or didn't sign the attendance sheet... |

Emmasonic4me: Am for business banker too...but the mode through which you're communicated seems odd. Anyway, so long as any invitation for your presence holds inside the bank, whether head office or branch, simply play along with them. As for their recruitment style, it really eludes and violates all known styles and explanations.

This is a plague adversly affecting the students of the National Open University of Nigeria. I am left to worry if NOUN does it intentionally or are willingly attracting litigations to themselves.
All we hear about NOUN is missing results! Missing results!! Missing results!!! The irony is that you are told the results are released in batches and when you approach your Study center for rectification, there is little or nothing they can do other than for you to take the TMAs and exams again.
When you send mails to them, you get no response. This is sheer wickedness knowing that most NOUN students are workers who often times sneak out from work to write exams or are given little time by the organization to go write the exam.
Someone I know wrote 7 courses for MBA and only 2 results were released. The MBA batch currently in their 2nd semester has 2 results seized for all the students in a SC. I also read of someone re-writing 8 courses.
This dents the image of the school, adds more stress to the students, more cost incurred and a greater risk of abandoning the program.
NUC needs to be involved in this so that this ill will be checked and corrected. Cc:Lalasticlala, ishlove |

ejibaba: Sir, any approach that can be adopted to get this guyz act right is so welcomed. NOUN rakes in hell of billions, they should invest it...They should stop using us to increase their bank statement. Any special thanks to TSA to steal has to be official but in the interest of all we must adopt any approach possible to get them to stop this. In Taraba for example the cheapest distance to the study centre if you don't stay in the capital is 1k so imagine spending such on transportation that was already spent for 8 exams. let's start by creating a thread for that. I hope all NOUN students would buzz the thread so that it makes FP and we go from there |

ejibaba: Uncle, redo is not the issue na, haba!!! It's time and money. For someone who is expecting to graduate and leave you're forced to start a new semester n pay compulsory fees for that semester. A 3 semester programme becomes 4 or more...with the person paying the compulsory fees each semester and delayed in time and resources. We all have to cry out now cos it can be your turn next. A postgraduate student is currently repeating a course for the 3rd time and another B.sc student for the 4th time. I've never experienced such but worried that if they can have missing results and deceive its students that result are released in batches it speaks volume of their integrity and leaves room for possible fear or worry of results been manipulated. Silent today is defeat tomorrow what then do we do? Can we collectively report to NUC and do a media hype about it so that they take it serious? Can we have lalasticlala and seun do us that favor of front page so that they would address this issue before it gets outta hand? |
