please what do you guys think about the story? |
Chapter 17 [Real Date] “I'm still mad at you." I told Jane as she got in the car. I was still confused about why she left that one night. If she liked me then why wouldn't she take the opportunity to kiss me? I was thinking about it all night but once she got in the car the anger started to fade. But I did want a better explanation. “Okay honestly Shed, " OHMYGOD SHE JUST CALLED ME SHED SHE GAVE ME A NICKNAME. “I was scared. Of what people would say or think. Remember when I told you I liked one of my friends? And I told him? he told all my friends and they all stopped talking to me. I didn't know if you were doing it because you liked me, or because you were testing me. I just didn't want the same thing to happen all over again. I wanted to be sure." she said. I understood this. I didn't want to make her feel bad for it when we can spend our time the way I've been wanting to spend it. “Does that mean we can't hold hands at school?" I asked her. “I never said that." She smiled and grabbed my hand. Goodness got into the front seat and looked back at us. She stared at us confused before she spoke. “Anything new?" She asked. “Everything is." Jane answered her. “Okay I know you have to show that Promise girl around but don't look at her. Or talk to her. Or touch her." Jane said to me almost laughing. “Are you seriously going to be one of those girlfriends?" "No I'm just kidding." She laughed. “But seriously don't touch her." We started walking towards the parking lot so we could find my mom to take us home. “Do you want to go on a date?" “Shedrack. I. Am. Still. Grounded." As she said that I felt someone wrap their arm around my neck. “Did I hear something about you guys going on a date?" Mercy, Jane's babysitter, asked coming out of nowhere. “Um well-" Jane started. “I'm going on a date tonight! Let's make it a double date, you guys can come along. Don't worry I won't tell your parents Jane." “Well... then I guess we're going on a date." Jane turned to me and kissed my cheek. My cheeks turned a bright red and at this point in my life, I really didn't care who saw. I put on a white top with a casual blue trouser and a black jacket. I didn't really know where we were going yet, therefore I didn't know how to dress. I took a deep breathe and rang Jane's doorbell. Mercy answered. “You look great! Jane is almost ready." “Where are we going?" “A drive in movie." Before I could answer I saw Jane come down the stairs. She was wearing her usual converse with high waisted shorts, a crop top, and a big black jacket. “Did I hear something about you guys going on a date?" Mercy, Jane's babysitter, asked coming out of nowhere. “Um well-" Jame started. “I'm going on a date tonight! Let's make it a double date, you guys can come along. Don't worry I won't tell your parents Jane." “Well... then I guess we're going on a date." Jane turned to me and kissed my cheek. She was wearing her usual converse with high waisted shorts, a crop top, and a big black jacket. It gets really cold at night okay, hence the jackets. “Hi." Jane said to me. Maybe i should give her a nickname too. Jani works. “Hi." I smiled to her. She grabbed my hand and we all went outside. A blue truck stopped in front of the house and waved to us. “Get in!" The boy driving called out. Mercy went in the front and Jane and I sat in the very small version of backseats. “This is God'stime." God'stime smiled and said hi. Once we got to the drive in we all jumped into the back of the truck and sat down. God'stime handed Jane and I a blanket to share. She held my hand and laid her head on my shoulder. Instant butterflies flew around in my stomach. But this time the butterflies felt happy, instead of anxious. TBC |

Dr. Sid might not be supremely active in the entertainment scene but he is still one of the more recognizable faces of Nigerian music, so you can imagine how surprising it was when he was reportedly stopped by officials of SARS and harassed. According to eyewitness reports, the singer was driving in Lekki when he was stopped by SARS officers who asked him to park and then proceeded to search his phone. He was presumed to be a Yahoo boy and when his phone produced no evidence, they decided to seize it. The basis for their suspicion? He was on dreads. It took the intervention of fellow label mate, Reekado Banks and comedian Basketmouth who happened to be driving by at the time before he was released by the law enforcement agents. According to Ogunleye Olaide, an eyewitness, he said the following; In *Lasisi Elena’s voice * something just happened now . Sars operatives stopped a random vehicle on freedom way ,Lekki Phase 1,thinking the driver was a yahoo boy, after routine check , they found nothing implicating , and resorted to seizing the phone of the driver. Little did they they know , that this person is Dr Sid , I mean Dr Sid of Mavin Dynasty . They insulted and attempted to assault him physically . Thanks to and K-Solo , who were there … Before who was driving by saw them and stopped to know what was wrong . Then ,it dawned on the SARS operatives that these guys were not their “yahoo boy customer ” Ise baje “That’s how Dr Sid vex too and started to call. Just imagine that it was an “ordinary ” civilian that was harassed today, baba for don dey cell now.” He was insulted and things might have gotten physical if not for the intervention of his fellow celebrities. Dr. Sid is yet to say anything about the incident.

A 24-year-old woman is set to become former president Jacob Zuma’s seventh wife. Nonkanyiso Conco confirmed to the Times Live that she and Zuma are getting married. “Yes‚ we are getting married‚ but that is all I can say. I need to consult before I give any interviews‚” she said. News24 reports that the woman gave birth to a baby last week at the Busamed Hillcrest Private Hospital last Thursday - Zuma's birthday. Conco is a director of the Pietermaritzburg-based Nomkhubulwane Culture and Youth Development Organisation‚ aimed at protecting the cultural practices of Zulu maidens. Conco reportedly resides in the plush Ballito Estate Hilltop‚ home to some of the city’s most well-heeled residents. She would be Zuma’s youngest bride‚ at 52 years his junior. Zuma‚ who has always been a proponent of polygamy‚ is currently married to Gertrude Sizakele Khumalo‚ Thobeka Madiba-Zuma and Bongi Ngema-Zuma. He is divorced from Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and separated from Nompumelelo MaNtuli Zuma. In total, ZumaTimesLive ered 22 known children from at least 11 women. Three independent sources confirmed to News24 that Zuma came to visit his baby under strict security on Thursday night. "They had to clear the maternity ward for other patients. Hospital staff made it clear that this was strictly confidential," a source with direct knowledge of the birth told News24. Ray Zuma, who is related to the former president, confirmed to News24 that Zuma was going to wed a woman named Nonkanyiso Chonco. When asked if Chonco was the same woman who had given birth to a baby earlier this month, Ray Zuma responded by saying: "So?" "I can't see why you are interested. When he was still the president, you [the media] were terrorising him, and now you are all of a sudden interested in him." When asked about the details of the wedding, he said he was not privy to the details. "No date has been set yet. Both families must come together to decide on the date. We are still in the pre-nuptial phases of the process." When News24 visited the hospital earlier in the week, an employee confirmed that Zuma had visited the facility. "Yes he was here last week. I saw him with his security. I do not know why he came through." But other sources confirmed the baby was Zuma's. Hospital staff were briefed to keep it a closely guarded secret and only told "this is JZ's child" and a "VIP delivery". Hillcrest Private Hospital management declined to comment saying they would not divulge details of any patient. Sources: News24, TimesLive

Chapter 16 [Anger and forgiveness] “You can't just come in here and say you're sorry and expect me to automatically welcome you back!" I yelled at Jane. “I don't know why I left that night shedrack! I don't know why! I was just completely shocked! I'm sorry." She yelled back at me almost crying. “And have you been in a state of shock for the past week? No! You could've called me or came over or literally done anything else but avoid me!" “I said I was sorry." “And why haven't you been at school!" “I couldn't go." “Why." I asked “I didn't know what to say." “How about saying 'oh I'm sorry I don't feel the same.'" “But I do." “You do what?" “Feel the same." She said calmly. “But you didn't do the dare." I spoke quiet too. Jane leaned down to where our faces were an inch apart. She closed her eyes and put her lips on mine. Her hands moved to my back and pulled me even closer to her. My heart was racing so fast once I realized what was happening. I couldn't breathe. She pulled away and stared at me. “I did it now." “I can tell." I tried not to smile. “Was that okay?" “It was more than okay." I put my arm around her back and kissed her again. Adrenaline ran through my body as she kissed back. My front door opened and nearly slammed into both of us, breaking the kiss. "Well... this is new. I'm going to go." My mom said as she walked inside. Janr and I laughed. “I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have walked away. Or avoided you. I just didn't want to lose you." “So you figured to avoid me because you didn't want to lose me?" I stared at her for a moment before we broke into laughter again. “Are we good now?" She smiled. “That depends on what we are." “Maybe this will answer your question." She pushed me up against the wall and began to kiss me again. “Um love birds I made food!" My mom called from the kitchen. Jane leaned back and smiled. “Coming mom!" I grabbed her hand and lead her to the table. “Do you like spaghetti Jane?" My mom asked her. “Yes, thank you." She smiled at my mom. My mom placed a plate of spaghetti in front of both of us. “Thanks mom." “So is this," she pointed at the two of us, "something you want to talk about?" “Well as it turns out, you were right about it not being over." She smirked. “She can't come over when I'm not home and no closed doors!" “Mommmm." “Well isn't that what parents say when their kids start dating?" I tried not to laugh. “She didn't say we couldn't go to your house." I whispered into Jane's ear. "I have a babysitter remember?" She whispered to me. “mercy knows about everything". I whispered back. "How do you know that?" “She was trying to help me... with you.." “Why am I not apart of this conversation? Am I not cool enough?" My mom interrupted us and smiled. “So sorry mom." I said sarcastically and we all laughed. Jane was still holding my hand. TBC |

Chapter 15 [New girl] My mom forced me to go to school today. It was definitely a fight to get out of bed this morning. But she's right, I can't miss more school. Jane got some other ride today I guess, and Goodness and I didn't really talk the whole ride. The moment I got out of the car, I ditched Goodness and went to sit under a tree so I wouldn't have to look at Jane. All I thought about during 1st period history was whether or not I should skip 2nd period math. It took all of my dignity not to skip. The moment I sat down in math, Ms. Awana called me to her desk. “Yes?" I asked her. “You have been called to the office." Um. Okay? Am I in trouble? I grabbed my bag and walked out the door, bumping into Jane. We looked at each other for a moment and then proceeded walking separate ways. “Hello, come sit." My guidance counselor told me when I walked in her office. There was a girl in the seat next to mine. Strange, I've never seen her before. She had golden hair like Jane. “This is Promise." My guidance counselor, Ms. Charity, said. “Hi." Promise said shyly to me. “She's new here and you guys have the same schedule. I was hoping you'd show her to her classes and around the school." Ms. Charity said excitedly. “Oh um okay." I said. “Great! Alright goodbye ." We both got up and promise grabbed my arm. “So um I'll take you to your class, which would be mine too. And at lunch I'll show you around school." “Okay thanks." She smiled at me. "I didn't catch your name?" “Shedrack but am used to being called Shedii." “That's a pretty name." “Thanks." I smiled back at her. I opened the door to class and told Ms. Awana about Promise. She said she could have the empty seat next to me. As we sat down I instantly felt Jane's eyes on me. I turned and saw her glaring at me. Once our eyes met we turned back to the front of class. Excuse me, but why are you glaring at me? I asked in my mind. Lol. Every time I saw Jane today while showing Promise around, she just looked mad and upset. Is she mad because of the dare? Or is it because I'm hanging out with someone else? It's not like I'm going to be around her right now. She doesn't have a right to be jealous. When I got home I put on a big t-shirt and comfy shorts. I made ice cream and wrapped myself in my blanket. I started a new tv series this weekend and put that on and laid down. My doorbell rang throughout the whole house and I ran downstairs to open the door. Jane was standing outside. “Shedii, I need to talk to you." TBC |
