Hehehe.

Remove Iniesta from that list. It's heresy to bring him in a discussion involving Lingard.
Kante was just named in the PFA team of the year.

Jesse Lingard is still running all over the pitch even after final whistle
They don't score goals and by your definition; they are inconsequential

Kane?.. Lol you wanna trade with Levy?.. I'd rather continue to play Rash than buy Kane for £60m[/quote]
Word! Daniel levy is the worst negotiator in history. Nigga go play you for the first two months while denying reports then the money wey him go use sell you na him him go use build new stadium.

Bros, the only reason Lingard could be said to be better than the pathetic Depay is prolly because the former shows a bit more enthusiasm and commitment : quality-wise, I can even make bold to say that Depay is better than Lingard!!!

Lingard shouldn't be anywhere near the 1st team.
As a matter of fact, I would start the equally limited Valencia on the RW in his place sef.
Baba you will agree with me that enthusiasm & commitment are important characteristics of greats. SAF won a shit ton of trophies with men like that. If you have passion & commitment for the game & the club you'd give your all for the team & if all the players are like this then we'd kill em all **cue Spartacus Lol** but seriously he won things with men like O'Shea Brown JS park cleverly even get 2BPL medals. Even welbeck who was still learning the trade whilst with us has a BPL medal to his name where men like Ozil, Sanchez Cazorla don't.

Yes.
They are inconsequential.

End product=goals+assists for a forward player. All those takings and megedefegede na wash.

Thank goodness you aren't on any judging panels because guys like kante, iniesta who prior to this week had not assisted in months no go dey rated at all. Matter of fact dem no go dey start games. Talk less of strikers like okazaki dem. grin

Why do we watch football if not for the goals?

Lingard keeps getting into goal scoring positions time after time in the same matches and sometimes struggles to hit the target.

Why bother to get goal side if you won't finish.

Jesse Lingard-united's version of Gonzalo higuain
Okay there's no point debating this with you since your arguemrnt is based on goals ALONE! I guess its safe to infer that the guys who do all the running, faking, off the ball movement, assisting are inconsequential, only the goalscorers matter yeah? Okay.

And because Lingard isn't a striker he should keep blowing clear chances he gets in front of goal?

How long do we give a 23-year old to come good?

Ronaldo wasn't a striker initially. Dude was deadly from the wings before he became a goal machine.

Martial bails us out primarily from the left and puts the piss in defenders' shorts with his deadly runs. Creating and scoring match winning goals. When will Lingard graduate to that level so we can have an extra threat offensively?

Jesse Lingard is a headless chicken
What is your arguement based on? Goals?

We don't have to look too far to see how average Lingard is.
Marcus Rashford has played far less games and has already made far more impact than Lingard.
Lingard works hard but he has no end product. I remember the Liverpool game in the Europa league where he was allowed time and space on the ball by the opposition because they knew he couldn't hurt them.
And when he does everything right, his touch most likely than not deserts him when it counts most. He then squinches his face like an albino in heat after messing things up at the vital moment. That's where Martial and Rashford tower above him, and he's supposed to be the older and more experienced player of the trio.

rashford & martial are more clinical yeah? But they are supposed to be strikers too. He & rashford are in their first seasons in the first team, age doesn't always make you better or more composed, we all know this. But like I said they are still young, their games will have ups and downs give 'em time.

we cant depend on an ageing young as an effective RWF neither can we on Lingard. I think we need a physically strong right winger who will be deputised by januzaj. the kinds of take ons martial does....if not for his physique, he would always be bullied to the grass in most cases. lacazette wouldnt be a bad idea given the non availability of proven strikers...
physique is not a prerequisite for that role, and believe you me. We have talented players in the team. Going out to pay over the odds for similar is not always the case. Between januzaj, Andreas Pereira, lingard, young, Memphis, martial you can't tell me we won't see two guys who'd click into the team all season, with the rest being on the bench.

Which Kane. Kane that cannot beat a man at crucial moments.

Kane only has more experience around the box.
my argument is not on who's a better dribbler, its who's a better ball player. Cue assists, passes and all. Look at what Kane brings to his team; its invaluable.

Rashford is a better ball player than Kane and Vardy. When Rashford goes out of the box, you would think he is an AM or even a winger.

I hope the arrival of a new CF won't stall his development.
he is not better than Kane with the ball at his feet, vardy maybe but not Kane
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Hissexcellencie(m): 9:54am On Apr 24, 2016
in the holding midfield we still keep carrick & Bastian as their experience & passing is invaluable, I'd say we move blind there at some point in the season to ease the exit of one of the ageing maestro out of the team because quite frankly they're above 31. For the other CM partner we have Morgan.S and Herrera both are good players blind/fellaini can also come in here, in case of lack of form/injury. In defence at LB we have the returning shaw, rojo, and our U21 guys north wicks jacks on & fosu mensah who we can call on if injuries come. At RB we have Darmian & Valencia, who are decent & good team players hopefully injuries don't disrupt their seasons. Then CB we have smalling, Jones, fosu-mensah, and one CB who would bring competition for a starting spot.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Hissexcellencie(m): 9:46am On Apr 24, 2016
I think our priorities should be a starting CF and CB. We have enough wingers already those who didn't perform well this season could be given another season if not up to scratch then we can now think of moving them on. A cf in the mold of lukaku (or the likes) capable of playing upfront alone, would give rashford competition and also breathing space from burnout/overhype from British media. That would mean Martial makes the LW his home, with Memphis as his deputy (hopefully he shakes off the new legue-1st season syndrome. Lingard & januzaj on the RW, with Young capable of playing both LW and RW. Rooney becomes our #10 with Mata/Fellaini deputizing for him (we can sell one of them in January if they lack form or want playing time.

we are both in agreement with the above. though Ronaldo had an FA cup medal from 2004 but it is universally agreed that the carling cup win was a turning point in both their careers.
my point is both players were near their plateau as performers by that point.it was obvious that it was only a matter of time that both would be great players down the line in time.
Ronaldo was appearing in his 3rd cup final and rooney his second by 2006. Rooney had massive experience prior with Everton.
none of the current crop of youngsters we have today have got that experience. plus when you factor in van gaal who tends to inhibit his players' creativity, it's really hard to think how that scenario will play out again.
It's just my opinion though.i would be glad if this kick starts something special but I hope you see my point.
by the way Lingard is still 3SC standard.even Giwa FC will struggle to take him.
dude lacks composure especially in key moments and doesn't want to improve his finishing.
I don't appreciate the way people slag off our players, yes, lingard is no neymar but how can he improve? Is it not by playing regularly? Ffs cut the young lads some slack, lingard has been consistent I can rate his season a 6.8/10, don't forget his contributions in the games against Chelsea & arsenal (2nd legs) if the youngsters have confidence & are getting playing time they'd only get better. We need to give em time. Not everyone is gon' be a messi or ronaldo. Cheers mate!

I thought for the little tutoring he had achieved in United I didn't think it was a bad idea going to dortmund.

In a league less stressful as the EPL he. Shud have done more
He should have..but he didn't, we are all disappointed. I hope he comes better next season tho. It would be nice to see him, Fosu-mensah, lingard, rashford, andreas Pereira click in this team and form the a strong core of home grown players along with other talented young men like martial & shaw & hopefully Memphis & Jones have better season next year.
It'll all be exciting to watch... If wishes were horses

How was going on loan to Dortmund a wrong move? Do you mean he shud have gone to a lower BPL club or even to the championship?

Is it that they hated him and did not give him game?

Or he was given games and did not perform or

His style just did not fit into the dortmund philosophy or vice versa.

Its strange that he just seemed to fade away, someone who had serious prospects.
of course he should have gone to a lower-down-the-table BPL club, at least he'd be assured of playing chances which is what he wanted in the first place. Would've done wonders for his confidence if he were starting games/playing regularly not the odd Europa league group game.

who did mourinho develop at porto fc? benni mcCarthy? deco? or who? you just come here to talk nonsense. porto fc was a team of mercenaries from their goalie to whoever. jose mourinho did not develop a single youngster at porto.

God will bless you for this, a Lotta guys don't know Fc Porto then and so they assumed it was just filled with youngsters which isn't actually true. Yes Mou did fantastically well to win the UCL with them but he didn't bring up any youngster to limelight from the academy.
