saw this somewhere so I decided to share, its long buh worth †ђξ read. Pls like n' share. Goodevening fellow Nigerians, I hope this is posted at least so the word spreads out to meaningful nigerians on our plight. I'm a member of the Nysc stream 2 that started registrations 1st September at the iyana ipaja camp after having our hopes dashed because there was no camping or orientation because of the Ebola scare, we found the excuse funny the Ebola virus had been contained already yet we carried it on our stride like it was nothing. .the registration process was flawed because they didn't stick to the supposed guidelines on their website, some people were lucky they finished in a day, I finished mine in 2 days, some others 1wk, we collected our initial allowance of #2500 and were all told to go to Surulere on the 15th of sept 2014 for our posting letter, we were also meant to go and open bank accounts in respective banks scattered around lagos, I stay in ogba but registered in ikoyi, days later we got an sms saying the collection was now on the 22nd of sept 14, no problem we waited till the 22nd, under d rain we made it to surulere beaming with smiles for our allowance as promised, once again hopes were dashed as no one made mention of that, we also lived with the horror of the PPAs we were posted to, anyway not everyone got a horrible place, since then its been one stage of frustration to another, from the school to the Lga, its just stressful, yet no allowie. Our DG then went on twitter saying we will be paid before September runs out, this is October 3rd and we have public holidays 6th and 7th so we have to wait indefinitely. It's been a harrowing experience for us and they all see it as nothing, we have to cope with the weather, transportation, feeding and most of the PPAs don't pay, Lagos state govt only pays 600 corpers and we are like 4000, I think the President and other nigerians think we are all right and living large because a supposed corper gave the President 10 thousand naira from his allowie, I guess that corper gets well paid in his PPA because 10 thousand naira now is a luxury most of us cant afford. I plead to every nigerian to help get word to the necessary people who can come to our aid so we can get our allowance at least because we don't understand this clarion call again. ...........A concerned corper. ikwoche: I am a bad spender. I spend money mostly in joints and mostly impulse spending. In the past few months, I came up with a strategy. I divided my spending into capital and recurrent spending. If I had all my money in my hands, it will all go for recurrent but now I collected a loan to reduce the money I have on monthly basis and I used the loan to purchase a Land. Next year, I would have finish paying back the loan and I will collect another to establish a business. For my recurrent, I have cut down on spending in the bar. maintaining my car and feeding and some few accessories *thumbs up* amazing way to tackle you over spending. |
