Music/Radio / NBC Slams Not To Be Broadcast Warning On Olamide's Science Student by hnworisa(m): 1:45am On Jan 28, 2018
National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has placed a Not To Be Broadcast (NTBB) warning on street rap king Olamide’s latest hit track ”Science Student”.

Virtually all radio and television stations across the country during the week got the notification proscribing the song from being broadcast.

According to Saturday Tribune, NBC Head of Public Affairs, Hajia Maimuna Jimada on Wednesday confirmed NBC’s take on the song which has already garnered thousands of views on Youtube. The statement says:
“NBC does not ban music. Our mandate is on what goes on Radio and TV. Olamide’s ‘Science Student’ has been declared ‘Unfit for broadcast,’” she said.

Jimada further gave a hint on why the song should not be broadcast as: Profligate mention and the subtle promotion of illegal drugs. While also issuing standing warning to all broadcasting corporations within its jurisdiction.

Although Olamide came out to clear the air on the true meaning of ”Science Student”, NBC sure has a different opinion about the street jamz.

Music/Radio / See Five Websites To Upload Your Music, Podcasts And Mixes To For Free by hnworisa(m): 3:54pm On Dec 01, 2017
Source: https://teceploaded..com/2017/11/top-websites-to-upload-your-songs-for.html
Every upcoming and even established artistes out there wants a way to upload their songs for free, well who doesn't. Before I start to divert let me go straight to the point here are five (5) top sites to upload your music for free.
Note: This list is in no particular order.

Soundcloud
Well this is probably the most popular of them all. With Soundcloud you get three hours of free upload. Meaning you can upload as many songs or podcasts as you can so as long as their total lengths do not surpass three hours. Once you exceed this limit you will be required to upgrade to a pro (6 hours) or pro unlimited (unlimited hours) account to have more hours. Soundcloud also integrates social features like re-posts, followings, likes e.t.c.

Mixcloud

Mixcloud logo

Mixcloud is probably the best alternative to Soundcloud as this gives you unlimited uploads and streaming. The only possible downside to this site is the lack of a download feature. Tracks you upload can only be streamed and not downloaded. Mixcloud recently increased the max size per track to 100 MB.

MyNotjustok

This is a Nigerian option though not limited to only Nigeria. It can be used and accessed worldwide. MyNotjustok is a solution created by notjustok.com Nigeria's biggest music website as a way to allow artistes promote their music for free. Notjustok integrates some social featured like followings and re-posts. MyNotJustOk UI was recently revamped to feature an orange and black color scheme.

Reverbnation

Reverbnation is a music promotion tool used by millions of upcoming and established artistes worldwide.

LaspoVibes

This is a new entry into the Nigerian market created by the same team bringing you Tecep's Blog. It's still in it's inception and has stopped receiving entries as the developers strive to make a more automated solution like that of the others above.

AMAKA’S OTHER SIDE (CHAPTER THREE)
‘Is she still bringing the goods?’
‘Mrs. Eze she says she is going to bring the girl, don’t worry’, said Eugene.
‘Let her bring her quickly because I have to see another set of goods by 10:00am’, Mrs. Eze replied.
‘Okay ma’.
‘But ma, why don’t you come back tomorrow because the way the supplier sounded it looks like the girl might arrive a little later than expected’.
‘Okay, what time tomorrow?’
‘Around 8:00am’.
‘No I have a meeting then. Let’s meet by 10:00 am sharp, please don’t disappoint’.
‘No problem ma I won’t’.
As soon as Mrs. Eze had left the hotel room Mr. Eugene picked up his phone and called Mrs. Anastasia.
‘Hello’
‘I have talked to my client the meeting has being postponed to tomorrow by 10:00am. Don’t disappoint me because it wouldn’t be funny’.
‘Okay I will be there’.
‘Better’.
***
‘Amaka do fast na my friend say she won commot’.
‘Okay, I am coming’
She turned to Uloma:
‘What did you want to say?’
‘I wanted to wish you safe journey’.
‘Okay, thank you. Let me meet my mother before she starts shouting again. Goodbye’.
Uloma hugged her:
‘Wait, I am sorry for everything that happened I don’t still know what came over me I should never have kissed him. Am I forgiven?’
‘Yes’, a teary Amaka replies.
‘Don’t forget to bring back city bread’.
They both laughed:
‘Don’t worry I will’.
‘Goodbye my friend till I see you again’.
‘Goodbye. I am just staying a week o’.
‘Okay then’.

Amaka, her mother, father and a few siblings had just arrived at the Tecep’s Transport bus park in Owerri. Luxury buses coming from various parts of the country were arriving similarly buses going to various parts of the country were either leaving or loading up.
‘You people should stay here let me go and buy Amaka bus tickets’, said Papa Amaka.
‘Ok sir’, they all echoed in unison.
Amaka and her remaining family stood rooted at the spot looking around. As they were there a fight ensued between a passenger and a bus conductor. People started jeering at them and in the normal Nigerian style brought out their phones to start videoing the fight. The fight or should I say beating lasted a good three minutes before a sensible young man had stopped the fight as the conductor had sustained several injuries and was bleeding profusely while the passenger clothes were only stained with dirt. Amaka’s father reunited with his family and they

Amaka's Other Side (Chapter two)
She felt a cold hand cover her mouth from behind and another over her almost large breasts. She tried to scream but the hand over her mouth subdued her scream, the hand over her bare breasts slowly released its hold and turned her around.
‘Hello beautiful’, said a young man a little bit older than her and he released his hold on her mouth.
‘Ah you scared me’, she said.
‘Are you not going to hug me’?
Amaka then hugged him:
‘It’s been long baby’, he said.
‘Yeah’ I have been busy, Amaka replied.
‘I heard you’re going to the city’.
‘Yes, my mother wants me to go visit one of her friends’.
‘Why does she want to separate us?’
‘She doesn’t have any bad intentions but I will be back I promise’.
‘Are you sure?’
‘Yes am sure’.
He looked at her with profound sadness in his eyes:
‘Chai, obim (my heart), nwoke oma (good man) ’, she praised him.
This made him smile a little:
‘Let me be on my way before your father sees me here standing with his half naked daughter’.
'Ha ha ha', laughed Amaka.
‘Chike’
‘Yes dear’.
‘Don’t cheat on me when I am gone’.
‘I swear on my mother’s grave I won’t’.
‘That’s why I love you’, she said.
‘Oya start going’.
She kissed him lightly and he smiled and started going back to his house. As she watched him go she suddenly felt a strong urge to defecate but she ignored the feeling and proceeded to have her bath. After her bath she tied her towel around her like a wrapper and started to go towards her room.
She finally got to her room, on her bamboo bed her mother had neatly laid out a dark-blue gown, a gown which Amaka only wore on Sunday’s when she was going to church or going out to visit her parent’s friends, her mother had also packed Amaka’s belongings into a Ghana must go bag. This surprised Amaka as she thought she was only going to visit for a few days but here was her mother packing all her clothes.
‘Amaka, wetin you still dey do inside’, shouted her mother, interrupting Amaka’s thought.
‘I am coming’, Amaka replied.
After about three minutes Amaka’s came out of the room with her bag. Amaka was dressed in the special dark-blue gown and her only pair of shoes, which are pretty worn out. Amaka was about to go into her mother’s room before

Celebrities / Davido Might Be Parting Away With N20mil As He Is Accused Of Breach Of Contract by hnworisa(m): 2:10pm On Jun 19, 2017
Davido has been hit with a fresh scandal. The ace singer has been accused of breaching a contract signed between him & 001 Entertainment, the organizers of “The Nigerian Queen” who have now written him to demand N20.5million in damages within 7 days or be dragged to court.

001 Entertainment, through its manager, Churchill Eneh, said it contacted the musician’s management company, The Plug Ng and after an agreement with the manager, Asa Asika, N5million was agreed which was fully paid for Davido to perform alongside other guest acts like Funke Akindele Bello and Styl Plus at the 9th edition of The Nigerian Queen which held on Saturday, June 10th in Port-Harcourt.

Davido allegedly confirmed his appearance and also instructed the organizer to pay return flight tickets for 6 persons for his 8:45am trip to Port-Harcourt on 10/06/17. At an extra cost, the flight was again re-booked for 4:50pm of the same date. .

TNQ Manager, Churchill Eneh was shocked when about 2:30pm he received a call from Davido’s agent that he (Davido) had withdrawn from the event without any reason. Consequent to this, TNQ organization were forced, at an extra and exorbitant cost of N2.5million, to hurriedly arranged for another artiste, Adekunle Gold to save their face.

This would surely shake his 30 billion claim grin

Computers / How To Spot Fake News On Facebook : Facebook Ten Commandments by hnworisa(m): 7:45pm On May 21, 2017
Source http://www.tecepsblog.com.ng/2017/05/facebook-ten-commandments-for-spotting.html
Facebook has taken a few steps to identify and flag fake news so far, but now it’s aiming to actually educate people on how to avoid it.
The company is adding an alert to the top of your News Feed dubbed “Tips for spotting false news,” which will apparently show up several times over the next few days. Click on it, and you’ll be taken to a support page with some common sense, but useful advice:

Be skeptical of headlines. False news stories often have catchy headlines in all caps with exclamation points. If shocking claims in the headline sound unbelievable, they probably are.
Look closely at the URL. A phony or look-alike URL may be a warning sign of false news. Many false news sites mimic authentic news sources by making small changes to the URL. You can go to the site and compare the URL to established sources.
Investigate the source. Ensure that the story is written by a source that you trust with a reputation for accuracy. If the story comes from an unfamiliar organization, check their “About” section to learn more.
Watch for unusual formatting. Many false news sites have misspellings or awkward layouts. Read carefully if you see these signs.
Consider the photos. False news stories often contain manipulated images or videos. Sometimes the photo may be authentic, but taken out of context. You can search for the photo or image to verify where it came from.
Inspect the dates. False news stories may contain timelines that make no sense, or event dates that have been altered.
Check the evidence. Check the author’s sources to confirm that they are accurate. Lack of evidence or reliance on unnamed experts may indicate a false news story.
Look at other reports. If no other news source is reporting the same story, it may indicate that the story is false. If the story is reported by multiple sources you trust, it’s more likely to be true.
Is the story a joke? Sometimes false news stories can be hard to distinguish from humor or satire. Check whether the source is known for parody, and whether the story’s details and tone suggest it may be just for fun.
Some stories are intentionally false. Think critically about the stories you read, and only share news that you know to be credible.

It’s worth noting that – as pointed out by TechCrunch – Facebook uses the term ‘false’ instead of ‘fake’ because ‘fake news’ has taken on its own distorted meaning often referring to stories people believe aren’t worth reporting on instead of actual apocryphal stories.
It’s a simple but welcome addition. As much as the tips in the list seem obvious, I can’t tell you how many times a day week I see people sharing satire stories they think are real, only to be called out on it later.
There’s no way a simple list like this is going to stop people from sharing fake stories – that’s why Facebook is trying to address the epidemic in other other ways – but hey, at least it’s something.
Webmasters / Don't Have Google Adsense Don't Worry. Here Are 7 Alternatives by hnworisa(m): 9:36pm On May 14, 2017
Source - http://www.tecepsblog.com.ng/2017/05/dont-have-google-adsense-dont-worry-use.html

Don't Have Google Adsense? Don't Worry Use These Alternatives
Tecep's Blog - Technology

Google Adsense is by far the best ad network out there but they are far to strict and many bloggers and webmasters including myself has experienced how hard it is to get an Adsense application accepted. So i researched and came up with a list of good but not comparable alternatives to Adsense.

1. Sulvo

This is probably the best Adsense alternative. Established in 2013 Sulvo is the best option if you are tired of low Adsense earnings even with good traffic. Sulvo even claims to give you $500 if you don't see an increase in your revenue that's if you haven't being banned by the ad network and have a whole of traffic. Sulvo is basically a CPM based ad network which pays for the ad impression. Although they have now started showing click metrics in stats (CTR), the ad impression is the primary thing they consider.

Advantages
- Sulvo offers different Ad sizes including responsive ads
- You get a high eCPM no matter the country your traffic comes from.
- They pay just like how all other ad networks pay once you have reached your threshold.

Disadvantages
- Only sites with high traffic get approved.

2. Chitika

Chitika is also a good Google Adsense alternative and you can also use it together with Adsense. It pays in time and the payout is $10 which can be received by PayPal. Chitika is also CPM based. I have personally used Chitika and I can say it's awesome.

Advantages
- Low minimum payout so the minimum payout is easy to reach.
- Timely payout

Disadvantages
- Focuses more on traffic from USA and Canada.

3. Propeller Ads

Propeller Ads is good alternative as their boast to have the highest CPM for all countries and they approve sites with the littlest traffic.

Advantages
- Approving almost all the sites even with small traffic volume
- The highest CPMs for all countries
- Real-time online reporting of your activity and earnings

Disadvantages
- Minimum payout is too high : minimum payout is $100 for Payoneer payments and $500 for wire transfers.

4. Media.net

Media.net is a contextual Ad network tied up with the Yahoo! Bing Network to enable publishers to increase advertising revenue. I personally would advise anybody to use Media.net as its an effective Google Adsense alternative. . Yahoo!, Forbes, New York Times, Elle, Reuters, Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping are among sites running Media.net ads.

Advantages
- Ads comply with SSL certificate
- Large ad options
- Dedicated customer service representative
Disadvantages
- Many ads are a 2-click revenue model
- Revenue reporting is not in real-time

5. UC Union

UC Union established in 2007 is another amazing Google Adsense alternative. By working directly with long-term advertisers such as Alibaba and worldwide companies, UC Union offers numerous & updating campaigns to publishers with up to 100% fill rate. UC Union is able to provide efficient and professional one-to-one service any time. UC Union works strategically with various parterns like Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Tencent e.t.c. UC Union supports multiple payment modes such as bank transfer(US Dollars and Indian Rupees), Webmoney and Payoneer. Paypal payments as at the time of writing this article has being suspended. UC Union allows you to host their ads in exchange for traffic from real users from UC Browser, 9apps e.t.c
Advantages
- Multiple modes of payment.
- On-time payment
- Low minimum payout - $10, for Payoneer, Webmoney & Paypal.
- Multiple cooperation modes
- Free traffic exchange
- Partnered with Yahoo, Flipkart and many more.
- One-to-one support guaranteed

Disadvantages
- Minimum payout for US Dollars bank transfer is high - $100.

6. Infolinks

It offers 4 types of ads – InFold, InText, InTag and InFrame. You can opt for any type of ads you want to display in your website. Minimum payment threshold is $50 for Paypal payment. One cool thing about Infolinks is that, it can be used with Google AdSense. Getting approved is a very easy task and setting up ads on your blog is more easier. Infolinks serves ad in eCPM technique which is formed with combination of CPC and CPM. Infolinks also have an Android app and iOS app, you can use it to monitor the performance of your account from your mobile phone.

Advantages
- Numerous Ad types
- Android and iOS app for viewing stats like Adsense

7. Kontera

It was founded in 2003 an is leading in-text advertising network. It servers ads on the text for your blog. It means, some of the text on your website wil be turned into links. When a user hover these links, it will show ads. These kind of ads may be distracting but works well. It can also be used along with Google Adsense or other ad programs.
The minimum payout is $50 which can be received on a PayPal account or via Standard Cheque.

Advantages
- Since ads are text-based it doesn't take up space.

These alternatives listed out here are good but none is as good as Google Adsense. They are best used together with Google Adsense rather than as an alternative.

More Alternatives include
- Ourbanners
- Bidvertiser
- BuzzCity
- InMobi
- Adiquity
