That Mai Mala Buni is illegally occupying the APC’s chairmanship position.

Except that Nigerian judiciary is in APC pocket, everything APC has done since Buni became chairman should be a nullity.

And that should include their upcoming convention if he supervises it, then it would amount to nudum patum because the supervisors shouldn’t have been supervisors in the first place and therefore had no locus standi to conduct whatever they conducted.

If the Supreme Court can muster the balls, APC has technically knocked itself off the 2023 race in all the states of the federation.

Buni is a wrong move by the ruling party

According to APC constitution an elected officer can't double as the Caretaker Chairman of the Party!

Surely the elections under him is a waste of time.

Former Senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, Kabir Marafa, has said appointing Mai Mala Buni as caretaker chairman of the All Progresive Congress (APC) is against the constitution of the party.


Marafa stated this in an interview with Arise Television over Buni’s proclamation that Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Bello Mohammed Matawalle is the leader of the party in the state following his defection from the People’s Democratic party (PDP).

He said Buni as the caretaker chairman of APC does not have the power to make such a pronouncement.

“It is better for APC to let the sleeping dog lie.

“Time will come we are going to challenge even his legality of him been a Chairman of APC

“When you look at APC constitution especially section 17, sub 4 it prevented him from becoming APC chairman, so we are going to ask the question when the need arises,” he said.

Marafa explained that Matawalle can never continue to be the Governor after his defection.

“Based on the ruling of the Supreme Court, APC cannot have a Governor, Members of House of Representatives or state House of Assembly.

“The judgment made by the Supreme Court says APC ought not to participate in the 2019 election in Zamfara State, that means there was no APC at all.


“So every attempt by anybody to say that he is a Governor of APC between 2019 to 2023 without reason of death or resignation is challenging the ruling of Supreme Court.

“So please APC all Zamfara people are saying be fair and just to us,” he said.

Marafa said the APC should not interfere because doing that will ignite serious problems that can spell doom for the party.

The Certified True Copies of judgment on Ondo poll are still being withheld from us

Further to our statement on Thursday last week, in which we alerted Nigerians to the fact that we are being frustrated with buck passing between officials of the Court of Appeal in Ado-Ekiti and Akure in our bid to obtain the Certified True Copies of the judgment of the Court delivered on the appeal filed by PDP and Eyitayo Jegede, SAN against Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN. We wish to state once again that we are yet to receive the copies, five days after the judgement was delivered.

Ordinarily, the Certified True Copies should have been out on Wednesday or latest by Thursday.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ondo State Chapter, is astounded by the fact that in an open show of partisanship, in clear violation of the laws of the land, and in defiance of the Supreme Court before which we have expressed intention to pursue our case to a logical conclusion, Court of Appeal is willfully holding on to the said copies in an undisguised bid to frustrate our party.


Knowing that the Supreme Court has only 60 days from the date of the judgment of the Court of Appeal, to dispose of this matter, we are, as a law-abiding political party, again alerting Nigerians and the international community to the undisguised attempt to use delay tactics and confer undue advantage on APC and its governorship candidate.


We hereby place it on record that the obvious delay tactics calculated to subvert democracy will not work in this hard-won democracy.

Our party wishes to appeal to the President of the Court of Appeal to intervene, so as not to bring the Court and the entire judiciary to public ridicule through this inexplicable delay in making the judgement public.

We also appeal to the National Judicial Council (NJC) to prevail on the Court of Appeal Registrars to perform the responsibilities of that office and accede to our request without further delay, as failing to do so will constitute a criminal infringement on our democratic rights, a slap in the face of justice, and a crude attempt to truncate democracy using dirty tricks.

Justice delayed is justice denied.
