EXPLORING THE RICHES OF THE MIND
The success or failure of a relationship or marriage is largely determined by the mind. The strength and the durability of a relationship or marriage is a function of what goes on in the mind. If we will be sincere with ourselves, every challenge we have ever had in our relationship is what we have thought of, in our minds, one way or the other. In the same vein, every happiness we have ever experienced in our relationship have been in our mind long before we experience it. What do you allow in your mind about your relationship? Do you allow the trust of your partner to grow in your mind or you allow the doubt of your partner to grow in your mind? If your mind is filled with the doubt of your partner, you sincerely have no business being in that relationship, get out of it before you begin to fill your mind with doubtful scenes(that you have seen in movies) that will blow up blood pressure and lead to early grave.
How I wish all of us can build up trust for our partners in our minds. We will not have any worries in our relationship or marriage. Even if the partner is unfaithful, he or she will eventually turn out to be faithful, due to the trust you have for him or her. Most partners trust each other, but when they have a little argument, they allow it to develop in their minds, and begin to develop "an undefined fear". When the fear takes over their minds, the outcome of it begins to manifest in their lives, which was what happen to Job~Job 3:25. That is why it is very important to end every argument with a deep warm hug, it gives a sense of confidence, thereby avoiding any negative thoughts that may result from the argument. What we allow into our minds is what our minds will think, and its what will happen to us. Therefore, we should always fill our minds with the word of GOD, with words that will enable us to grow in love and trust towards one another.

The mind has unlimited capacity to think, no one or nothing can stop the mind from thinking and achieving its thoughts. Remember, if not for the infinite wisdom of GOD, by which HE made them speak different languages, HE would not have been able to stop those people that are erecting a building that will reach heaven(Genesis 11:4-. So, there is no limit to what you can achieve, the only limit is YOU. Most of us limit what we think because we believe it does not correlate with common sense, or because we are afraid of people's opinion. Because we are afraid of people's condemnation, we refuse to give life to our ideas, letting die inside us without seeing the light of day. So, many people have allowed their great ideas to die inside them without propelling it. But, I am here to challenge you today, give life to that little idea, no matter how insensible it may look.

All the great names that have made mark on earth are self-encouraged people, they do not need people's encouragement or discouragement to give life to their ideas. They think of things that does not make sense to a sensible human being, and go ahead with it. My father(Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo) had a Volkswagen beetle when he was declaring to people that he was going to be one of the wealthiest man on earth. People tried to stop him, because it does not make sense to them for a man that is struggling with a Volkswagen beetle to say he would be one of the richest man on earth. But he knew the only one that could stop him was him, so he turned down people's opinion and he gave life to the little idea inside him. But today, it is no longer news that he is one of the richest man on earth. So, what about you? Are you going to give life to that little idea inside you? Or you are going to let it die inside you because it does not make sense to people

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR BEING FULL OF EXCUSES
Ninety-nine percent of failures come from people who have a habit of making excuses, you are never a failure until you begin to blame somebody else. Stop blaming others, you'll find that when you become good at making excuses you won't be good at anything else. Excuses are the tools a person with no purpose or vision uses to build great monuments of emptiness. You can learn from your mistakes if you don't waste your time denying and defending them, it seems to me these days that people who admit they are wrong get a lot farther than people who prove they are right.
Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do what they want to do when all they really need is one reason why they can. One of the biggest alibis is regret, don't leave any regret on the field, give your all in the game of life. The most valuable thing I have learned from life is to regret nothing! Eliminate your regret, for the truth is that a thousand regrets do not pay one debt.
Regret is an appalling waste of energy, you can't build on it, its only good for wallowing in.
When winners makes mistake, he says "I was wrong", when loser makes mistake, he says, "it wasn't my fault"
NOTE ~~ In every thing you do stay away from complaining and arguing so that no one can speak of a word of blame against you.
Remember the best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own, you don't blame them on your mother, the ecology or the president. You realise that you control your own destiny.

YOUR BEST FRIENDS ARE THOSE WHO BRING OUT THE BEST IN YOU
Tell me who your best friends are, and I will tell you who you are, if you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl, but if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to greater heights. Proverbs 27:19 ( TLB) says "A mirror reflects a man's face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses". The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate- for the good and the bad.
Think about it, almost all of our sorrows spring out of relationship with the wrong people, the less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve, any time you indulge mediocrity in others it increases your mediocrity. A Bulgarian proverb confirms, " If you find your -self taking two steps forward and one step backwards, invariably its because you have mixed associations in your life".
Remember he that walketh with the wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed
We become like those with whom we associate, we need to be careful to the kind of insulation we use in our lives, but we should never insulate ourselves from godly counsel and wisdom.
Its better to be alone than in the wrong company, a single conversation with the right person can be more valuable than years of study, when you surround your self with the right kind of people you enter into God's ordained power of agreement.
Ecc 4:9,12 ~~ Two can accomplish more than twice as much as one for the results an be much better. If one falls the other pulls him up, but if a man falls when he is alone he is in trouble ....and one standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back to back and conquer, three is even better, for Triple braidedcord is not easily broken.

By the help of the Holy Spirit, we have been able to establish the truth that to find the right partner, we must ask GOD. But may I please say this; Even if GOD show you your wife and even tell you her name as a clue, if you don't woo her, you wont have her. GOD will only show you your wife, HE won't woo her for you. Brother, it is high time you open your mouth and tell her how you feel, before watching someone else take her away. Wooing a lady is not a sin, do not be carried away by your so-called spirituality. Be friendly, be accommodating, be fun to be with, be the guy that every lady want to be with, don't be boring, no lady want to be with a boring guy. Most of our brothers are very spiritual, they are always speaking in tongues, they can even greet you in tongues~ Bishop David Abioye. Listen brothers, you cannot woo in tongues, she is not the Holy Spirit, the highest she can be is a Holy sister. When it is time to woo her, don't say; "Sister, let us pray". Its not the time pray, its time to talk~ Bishop David Abioye. You should have prayed before that time and get divine assurance. Wake up brothers!

Dear beautiful sisters, though it is absurd to woo a man, but you can show it. You can make yourself a available. It is not a sin! You can make yourself available by showing that you care. Offer him assistance. It does not mean that you are cheap, NO! Rather, it is an advert to show him the virtues you possess. Every man wants a woman that can fulfil the role of a "help-meet". You can show him you possess such qualities. Stop being "hard-to-get", it will place sign of "cant be get" on you. Don't say NO when deep down in your heart you wish to say YES. Saying YES to the man you love does not mean you are cheap, neither does it mean you are unrighteous. In truth, saying NO when you mean YES means you are telling a lie, which is unrighteous. As a young lady, be intelligent and always wear a smiling face. Don't be too rigid. Laugh to his jokes even when they are dry, cos he is trying to make you happy. Ladies, most men are afraid of wooing you because you are always carrying a scary look, you are scaring them away, yet you attend marital breakthrough service, praying that your man should come, not knowing that he is afraid of approaching you because of rigid look.

THE MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART
GOD described King David as a man after HIS own heart, not because he was running after the heart of GOD but because he had the same heart with GOD. Chris Dupre(A praise and worship minister) said; I used to think being a man after the heart of GOD means being a man that runs after GOD, until the Holy Spirit enhanced my understanding when I heard a lady addressing a boy that he took after his father, having same politeness, same look, same dressing and so on, which literally means that the boy looks exactly like his father. So, he learnt that to be a man after GOD's own heart does not mean to run after GOD, but to look like GOD, just as that little boy look like his father. So, the question is; What is it that makes King David look like GOD? Is it because he was a king? Or because he was a warrior?
King David does not look like GOD because he was a king, a warrior and so on. He looked like GOD because he had same quality as GOD(just like that little boy had same quality as his father), which is praise. Praise is one of the most essential qualities of GOD. The heart of GOD is the heart of praise, and the heart of David is full of praise. That explains why GOD described King David as a man after HIS own heart. Therefore, being a man after the heart of GOD does nor mean running after GOD like an athlete, neither does it mean being in all the service groups in your church, NO! It means having a heart that takes after GOD, which is a heart of praise. Now the question is; Are you a man(or woman) after the heart of GOD, or you are a man(or woman) running after GOD

Praise is not to be a church service activity ONLY, but it is to be our daily activity. We are to praise GOD everyday of our lives, not just during the church services. GOD wants to dwell with HIS people((you and I), HE wants to interact with us everyday. That is the reason why JESUS had to die for us to be restored back to GOD. The whole essence of redemption is because GOD wants to relate with you, which is the initial and real activity between man and GOD. But wait, GOD only dwell in praises! Praise is the only atmosphere conducive for GOD to dwell in. Which implies that GOD cannot be with you nor interact with you if you do not praise HIM, or, GOD is with you ONLY at Church services where and when you praise HIM.

The ark of the covenant represents the presence of GOD , and it had always been in the Holy of Holies, where only the high priest have access to it, to stand before GOD on behalf of everybody else. But David built a tent in the centre of city and asked that the ark of the covenant to be brought into the tent, at the centre of the city. Which means, everybody would have access to the ark of the covenant(everybody would have access to the presence of GOD). This is the intention of GOD for everybody. GOD wants everybody to have access to HIS presence. HE no longer wants your pastor to stand before HIM on your behalf. HE wants the ark of the covenant, which represents HIS presence to be in your heart, which is the centre of your life(centre of the city).

Note; DO NOT WAIT TILL CHURCH SERVICES BEFORE YOU PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD EVERYDAY. YOU ARE THE SANCTUARY OF GOD AND YOU ARE THE TABERNACLE OF PRAISE WHERE GOD WANTS TO DWELL. There is no contemporary truth, truth is neither modern nor primitive, its the same old rugged truth. The truth about finding the right partner have not changed either, it still requires asking GOD. GOD is the one that established marriage, HE discovered that Adam was alone, so HE created Eve for Adam, which became the first marriage. Therefore, HE is the one to show you your Adam or your Eve. Your Eve or your Adam is already created, all you need is to find her or him. HE said; "None shall lack her mate~Isaiah 34:16". This implies that you can never lack your mate(spouse). So your spouse is already available, just ask GOD for him or her and HE will show you. Abraham sent his servant to go and look for a wife for his son Isaac, but the servant asked GOD and GOD helped him find a wife for Isaac(Genesis 24:1-27). So, it is GOD that can help anyone find his or her spouse, just ask HIM.

The challenge most of us have is that we want GOD to say; THIS IS YOUR WIFE or THIS IS YOUR HUSBAND! It may not work that way for you, but work that way for someone else. It all depend on the level of our intimacy with GOD. For example; GOD spoke to Moses face-to-face(Exodus 33:11), HE spoke to Prophet Samuel through words which he heard(1Samuel 3:4), HE spoke to David through the heart(Acts 13:22), HE spoke to each one of them based on their level of intimacy with HIM. So, there is a way GOD speaks to each one of us, which differs, based on how close we are to HIM, but most times, we are insensitive to HIS voice. Therefore, instead of moving from one man/woman to the other, just ask GOD and be sensitive to HIS voice and HE will lead you to your ordained spouse.

NEVER STOP PRAISING GOD
The condition of your heart determines the happenings of your earth. In Psalm 67:5-7, David make us to understand that when we praise GOD, our earth shall yield increase and GOD will so much bless us in such a way that the whole earth will marvel. Praise is the seed you sow that guarantees marvelous harvest. At a local party here in Nigeria, when musicians begin to sing and mention our names in praise, we lavish our money on them, because they sing praises to us. In the same vein, when we sing praises to GOD, HE lavishes HIS blessings on us. Don't forget, we are created in HIS image and likeness, we are created like HIM. So, the same way we lavish our resources at praises, is the same way HE lavishes HIS resources at praises too.
Praise will always get us what prayers cannot get us. When we pray, GOD hears and send angels to ensure that our prayers are answered. But when we praise, GOD comes down to dwell in our praise, for HE dwells in praise~Psalm22:3. Praise is HIS natural habitat, and HE cannot praise HIMSELF. Since GOD cannot praise HIMSELF, it is wise for us to praise HIM in order to make HIM dwell with us and we will command breakthroughs in every areas of our lives. That is why we may pray amiss, but we can never praise amiss.
Note; WHEN WE STOP PRAISING GOD, WE STOP EXPERIENCING HIS PRESENCE, AND WHEN WE STOP EXPERIENCING HIS PRESENCE, WE START EXPERIENCING DEFEAT. THEREFORE, DO NOT STOP PRAISING GOD...BE WISE...!!

AVOID POLYGAMY
GOD did not create more than Eve for Adam. So the standard of GOD is one woman for a man and one man for one woman. Therefore, it is anti-covenant for a man to have more than a woman. It was after the fall of Adam to sin man began to have more than one wife. So, having more than a woman or a man came after sin had its dominance on human, not the original intention of GOD. When treating this topic in a relationship seminar; a young man asked a question, he said; "Statistics shows that women are more than men in our present world, if we marry one each, what will happen to the other women?". This is the new deception that devil places in the heart of our young men these days. Please listen, that statistics shows that women are more than men does not mean you should kick against the standard of GOD, which is one man to a woman and one woman to a man. Else, GOD would have created more than a woman for Adam, but the scriptures said; male and female HE created them(Genesis 1:27), not male and females, nor males and female.
GOD saw that Adam was alone, so HE decided to create a suitable companion for Adam~Genesis 2:18. HE saw that the animals in the garden of Eden were not suitable for Adam's companionship, so HE created a suitable companion(not many suitable companions) for Adam. So, the purpose of GOD is for man to have a suitable companion. Man do not have the capacity to have more than one woman, neither do women have the capacity to have more than one man. Check the polygamous families around, you will see that there is always turmoil, this is because the man, who is the head of the family does not have the capacity to have more than one woman. So, young men, do not be deceived into having more than a woman, and young women, do not be deceived into having more than a man. Having more than one is a deception of the devil to make you kick against the standard of GOD, irrespective of the situation. And if you are reading this little note and you already have more than a man or a woman, do not condemn yourself, GOD is gracious and merciful.
Note; GOD BLESSED ADAM AN EVE(A MAN AND A WOMAN)~Genesis 1:28, SO THE BLESSING OF GOD IS ON ONLY A MAN AND A WOMAN, NOT A MAN AND WOMEN OR A WOMAN AND MEN. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE, BUT YOU HAVE EVERYTHING TO GAIN.
GOD is a covenant keeping GOD. HE requires your step of faith before HE can take a step on your behalf, if you will not take that step of faith, HE will not move on your behalf, because it is your faith that moves GOD. Yes, HE loves you so much, but HE will not break HIS covenants to please you. You are the one in need of HIS help, so you are the one to follow HIS ways, they may not look like your ways(Isaiah 55:11) but they are to your benefits, not one of HIS ways are to HIS benefit. Whatever part you are required to play in the covenant(contract) is just to prove your faith on HIM.
In HIS covenant(contract), we have nothing to lose, rather we have everything to gain. GOD does not need and will never need what we have, it is us that need and will always need what HE has. So, whatever HIS covenant requires us to bring is not because HE needs it, it is only a test of our faith. For example; GOD does not need a son, yet HE requested for Abraham's son, just to test Abraham's faith in HIM. When Abraham obeyed, he became the father of nations. GOD does not need your money, yet HE requests for ten percent of your income, when you give it, HE pours HIS blessings on you. A young man prayed to GOD, GOD does not wear shoes, but GOD requested for his shoes. He obeyed and GOD gave him a cars, so he would no longer move about in shoes, but in cars. You have nothing to lose, but you have everything to gain, just do your part of the covenant(contract).
Note; IF GOD NEEDED A SON, HE WOULD HAVE CREATED ONE FOR HIMSELF, AFTERALL, HE IS THE ONE THAT GAVE ABRAHAM A SON, BUT HE JUST DID IT TO TEST ABRAHAM'S FAITH. IF GOD NEED MONEY, HE WILL PROVIDE FOR HIMSELF, AFTERALL, HE PROVIDED THE MONEY FOR YOU, BUT HE IS REQUESTING FOR YOUR TEN PERCENT TO TEST YOUR FAITH. DOING YOUR PART OF THE COVENANT(CONTRACT) IS A PROVE OF YOUR FAITH, WHICH MOVES GOD TO DO HIS PART. THEREFORE, DO YOUR PART OF THE COVENANT(CONTRACT)...BE WISE...!!

COVENANT KEEPING GOD.
GOD is not a promise-keeping GOD, HE is a covenant-keeping GOD. What we see as the promises of GOD are not promises, but the covenants of GOD. A covenant is a contract or an agreement between two parties. That is exactly the way GOD relates with us. HE offers us a contract in which both us and HIM have what to do and until our part is done, HIS own part will not be done. GOD is always ready to do HIS part of the deal, HE cannot disappoint, that is why HE said; HE will not break HIS covenant nor alter HIS words~Psalm89:34. But it is when we do our own part of the deal that HE gets moved to do HIS own part.
The Bible is a covenant(contract) book between both parties(You and GOD). Every word in the Bible is a covenant between you and GOD, it is a contract GOD is offering you. When every contract is well executed, payment is well-paid, so when you do your part of the covenant, you get well-paid. For example, HE said; if you will obey and serve HIM, you will spend your days in prosperity and your years in pleasures~Job36:11. So, the part you are to play in that contract is to obey HIM, then HE will play HIS part, which is to make you have prosperity and pleasure. For everything in the scriptures, there is what we must do, even salvation is a contract(covenant). For anyone to be saved and escape the horrors of this world, he must accept JESUS as his LORD and SAVIOUR, else, no salvation for him.

WIVES, KEEP YOUR HUSBANDS.

Every man love to be respected, irrespective of their status, it is a natural trait in men. They love to take the lead, so they get furious when their wives argue with them. That is why the scriptures advised that wives should be in subjection to their husband(1Peter 3:1), to be meek and have a quiet spirit(1Peter3:4), to obey them as their Lord(1Peter3:6). A woman of meek spirit will not argue with his husband, no matter how wrong the man is, instead, she will allow the man to speak and express his anger, when he is done, she politely lay down her point, and if he is adamant, she will tell GOD, who created him to help speak to him. Pastor Faith Oyedepo requested from her husband Bishop David Oyedepo that the school of the children be changed, the man said an emphatic "No". Instead of arguing with him, she went to GOD, his creator, to help her talk to him. The Bishop came to her to support that the school of the children be changed. As a wife, you can do same. His heart can be controlled by GOD(Proverbs 21:1), so instead of arguing with him, discuss it with GOD in prayers.

It is true that behind a successful man, there is a "virtuous" woman. Listen wives, you are created to be a help-meet, so you are to help your man fulfil destiny. Be the one he will run to for advice. When he is going out, ask him about his moves for the day, during the day, call him to show your support, and when he comes back, ask him how the day went. Be his home, by accommodating his mistakes, correcting it with love and encourage his good deeds. I hardly blame men that go to joints after work to drink alcohol, it is because their wives are not their home. But when a man rush home after work, it is because he finds a home in his wife. It is true(but not absolutely true) that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. So, learn several delicacies and his heart will never you, because a man will always go to where he gets delicious meals. As a wife, it is a shame for your man to eat at restaurants. Every obstacle introduces a person to himself, how we respond to obstacles is of ultimate importance.
The greatest example of the right response to an obstacle i n the Bible is in the story of the giant Goliath, who confronted and intimidated the armies of Israel, including the brothers of a young shepherd named David. David's brother chose not to do anything about the obstacle before them, but David did. What was the difference? The way each viewed the problem, the brothers looked at the obstacle and figured it was too big to miss.
The way you look at any obstacle in your life makes all the difference, let each new obstacle force you to go to the next level with God, no obstacle will ever leave you the way it found you. You will be better, or you will be worse. Keep in mind this important fact about obstacles: Every obstacle has a limited life-span. We worried about things last year that we can't even remember today, don't believe the devil when he tells you that things will not change, that they will not pass. Obstacles subdue mediocre people, but great leaders rise above them, you and I need to be like the great man who, when asked what helped him overcome the obstacles of life,responded, "the other obstacles". We should be like a kite that rises against the wind, every problem has a soft spot, there is an answer. Many people think most of their obstacle are money - related, but the correct perspective is to know that a problem that can be solved with a checkbook is not really an obstacle; its an expense.
Someone said that obstacles are what we see when we take our eyes off the goal, keep your eyes on the goal and remember that you are not alone in your struggle.

THE SECRET OF LIVING IS GIVING
One way to esteem a person is by what he says, a better way is by what he does, the best way is by what he gives, Elizerbeth Bibesco said, Blessed are those who can give without remembering and take without forgetting.
The big problem is not the haves and have-not; its the give nots, the Lord loves a cheerful giver and so does everyone else. The best generosity is that which is quick, when you give quickly, its like giving twice. When you give only after being asked you have waited too long.
What ever good happens in your life is not so that you can keep it all to yourself part of it is intended to be given to others. I agree with E. V. Hill, what ever God can get through you, He will get to you.
The book of Acts 20:36 says, "It is more blessed to give that to receive". Giving is always the thermometer of our love for others. When you cease to make a contribution, you begin to die, getters don't receive happiness, givers do.
REMEMBER THIS: Living for others is the best way to live for yourself, also note this " Make all you can, save all you can, give all you can". That's an excellent formula for a successful life.
When it comes to giving some people stop at nothing, the trouble with too many people who give until it hurts is that they are so sensitive to pain. Greed always diminishes what has been gained.

Husbands, please listen; your wife is to be treated with utmost care and be given more priorities. Before getting married, your friends can take more priorities in your life, you can even afford to hang-out overnight. But the moment you recite the marriage creed, she takes the second place in your life, next to GOD, she takes priority over your friends and takes charge of your nights(no more overnight hang-outs). The scriptures did not describe your wife as your house-maid, but as your help-meet(Genesis 2:18), which means; she is to help you do the things you are doing. For example; if you are washing, she is to help you, if you are cooking, she is to help you, even if you are sleeping, she is to help you have a better sleeping experience. She is not to be the one to do everything for you, rather to help you while you are doing what you are doing.

The scriptures said; GOD took a rib from the ribs of Adam to create Eve. And when Adam saw Eve, he exclaimed; this is the bone of my bone and the flesh of my flesh! The scriptures also said; both the husband and the wife are now one flesh(Genesis 2:21-24). So, it is a general believe that you and your wife are one flesh, so when you beat your wife, you are beating yourself(your flesh), and beating yourself can be described as insanity of the highest order. The scriptures described the woman as a weaker(or delicate) vessel(1Peter 3:7), so they are not to be mal-treated, but to be treated delicately, to be given maximum care and attention. The scriptures further advised that you should take good care of your wife, so that your prayers will not be hindered~1Peter 3:7. In other words, if you do not take care of your wife, your prayers will be hindered. Most of these wives(the virtuous ones), pray for their husbands in their secret places, because they want to be addressed as the wife of a successful man. But if they are not well treated, they will not be motivated to pray for you and your own prayers too will be hindered.

You are the one who must grow up" Gloria Swanson said, "Never say never. Never is a long, undependable thing, and life is too full of rich possibilities to have restrictions placed upon it.
To believe an idea impossible is to make it so. Consider how many fantastic projects have miscarried because of tiny thinking or have been strangled in their birth by a cowardly imagination. I like what Gabriel Victor Mirabeau said when he heard the word "Impossible" Never let me hear that foolish word again.
Pearl Buck admonishes that "All things are possible until they are proved impossible even the impossible may only be so as of now"
John Ruskin said, dream lofty dreams and as you dream so you shall become, your vision is the promise of what you shall at last unveil. Somebody is always doing what somebody else said couldn't be done. Dare to think unthinkable thoughts. Develop an infinite capacity to ignore what others think can't be done, don't just grow where you are planted. Bloom where you are planted and bear fruit, the famous saying is true that there is always room at the top.

KNOW YOUR LIMITS AND IGNORE THEM!
Again life is too short to think small, rather do as Joel Budd encourages us "March off the map". Most people could do more than they think they can, but they usually do less. You never know what you cannot do until you try. I agree with Oscar Wilde in this: Moderation is a fatal thing, nothing succeeds like excess.
Every thing is possible - never use the word " never". Charles Schwab said, " When a man has a limit on what he will do, he has put a limit on what he can do".
NOTE THIS ADVISE: Never tell a young person that some thing cannot be done. God mag have been waiting for centuries for somebody ignorant enough of the impossible to do that thing.
If you devalue your dreams, be rest assured the world won't raise the price. You will find that great leaders are rarely realistic by other people's standards. The answer to your future lies outside the confines that you have right now, if you want to see if you can really swim, don't frustrate yourself with shallow water, remember that any man who selects a goal in life which can be fully achieved has already defined his own limitations.
Instead be a history maker and a world shaker. Go where you have never gone before.
Remember that "you can only become a winner if you are willing to walk over the edge", capture Randy Loescher's perspective: " God says, 'Ask me for the mountains'. The bible says "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God" (Luke 18:27)

To succeed in life you must overcome these efforts of others to pull you down, how you choose to respond to criticism is one of the most important decisions that you make efforts. The first and great commandment of criticism is, don't let them scare you because if you limit your actions in life to things that nobody could possibly find fault with, you will not do much.
Nothing significant has ever been accomplished without controversy, without criticism, so when you allow other people's word to stop you, they will. The truth is, a critic is like a gong at a railroad crossing, clanging loudly and vainly as the train goes by. Many great ideas have been lost because people who had them couldn't stand the criticism and gave up. A critic is some one who finds fault without a search warrant, fault is absolutely one of the easiest thing to find.
Critics not only expect the worst but also make the worst of what happens, the blunt truth is this "expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are a good person is a little like expecting a bull not to attack you because you are a vegetarian.
NOTE: If criticism had any real power to harm, the skunk would have been extinct by now! Remember this about critics: A man who is always kicking seldom has a leg to stand on. Great mind discuss great ideas, good minds discuss events and small minds discuss other people.
The Bible says to multiply, but too many critics prefer to divide, don't allow yourself to become a critic. Jesus warns " Judge not, that ye be not judged" matt7:1.
You will always make a mountain out of a molehill when you throw dirt at other people. No mud can soil you except the mud you throw, the mud tosser never has his hands washed.
REMEMBER THIS: IF YOU ARE AFRAID OF CRITICISM, YOU WILL DIE DOING NOTHING, CRITICISM IS A COMPLIMENT WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS RIGHT.

NOBODY CAN TEACH LIKE JESUS CHRIST (Prt2)
Romans8:14 says " for as many as are led by the spirit of God they are the sons of God."
Who is supposed to be leading the children of God? Its the Holy spirit, the Holy Spirit is the one to be guiding, telling you where to go, where not to go, what to do and what not to do. He will tell you whom to marry, who not to marry, who to work with and who not to work with.
When I first received the Holy Spirit, anytime I was leaving my home to the church, the Holy Spirit will tell me the person who would preach, the person who will pray and the songs we would sing in the church. God is no respecter of persons, what he can do for me, he can do for you. God wants you to live a supernatural kind of life, if you have the Holy Spirit, nobody will be able to deceive you, you will know many things.
Ananias and saphirra came to Peter and lied to him about how much they sold their land, Peter was not with them in their house or with them when they sold the land. He simply said they were deceiving the Holy Spirit and this led to their deaths. It was fear that killed them.
When you have the Holy Spirit, you will succeed in your business, he will tell you what to buy and what not to buy, he will tell you things to come. The Holy Spirit is also called the Advocate, an advocate is a lawyer, lawyer is somebody who can work against you or for you. The Holy Spirit is always working hard against sinners. The Holy Spirit pleads against a dead conscience convicting a sinner of his sins but pleads for the saint with a groaning that cannot be uttered. The sinners says he wants to drink a little bit of alcohol but the Holy Spirit tells him that by tomorrow, it would be too much. The sinner says he wants to enjoy life before enjoying heaven but the Holy Spirit tells him that this life is not his own.
The Holy Spirit is always struggling with sinners, if you are not yet born again, listen to the Holy Spirit and surrender your life today for Jesus to save your soul. When you are already a child of God, the Holy Spirit begins to do a different type of advocating. He will be helping you to pray.

NOBODY CAN TEACH LIKE JESUS CHRIST
The other Comforter that Jesus Christ promised us will be another teacher and another Rabboni. He did not promise us another pope or archbishop but another Teacher, an instructor in the mysteries of God, revealing the deep meanings of the word of God. With him to instruct you, you do not need the enticing words of human wisdom. There are several passages in the Bible that are difficult to understand, your pastor may not even be able to help you, the Holy Spirit will give you the full details of any difficult passage, if you go to him.
When I was newly became born-again, I had many questions to which I needed answers, for example, I wanted to know why God planted the tree of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden when He knew that Adam and Eve would eat the fruit? When they ate the fruit, why did He get angry with them? You cannot ask a pastor this type of questions, particularly at the time I became born again. I did not bother to ask anybody, I asked the Holy Spirit and he gave the needed answers that satisfied me completely. If you want answers to those questions you have not been able to get answers to from anybody, ask the Holy Spirit and he will give you the answers.
The Holy Spirit is also called the Monitor, in a classroom its the monitor that watches over the class when the teacher is not around. The monitor guides the other students, a monitor is a sort of overseer, watching over you, leading you, guiding you and assisting you when there is need for it. If you follow the Holy Spirit, you will not go astray. Jesus Christ said in john16:12-14,
"I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it into you"
Jesus was simply saying here that the Holy Spirit will be our Monitor. He will be guiding us, he will be showing us the way, he will be leading us where ever we should go.

The worst kind of relationship anyone can ever run, is to be in a relationship with a pretender, because no matter how he or she pretends, his or her true nature will reflect, sooner or later. Relationship is not all about romantic dates, candle-light dinners or beach-walks, in as much as those things are important, we must also know that the core purpose of a relationship is to be able to build a successful marriage, which requires a lot of arguments, break-ups and make-ups. Do not be afraid of break-ups, because if you are afraid of it, it will come unto you~Job 3:25. But if you are not afraid of it, you will have the courage to pick each other up again when it comes and fix things right.

I always disagree with any relationship that the people in it does not argue, it will not last long. Listen friends, we all grow up with different mentalities in different environments before meeting each other and decided to be together, in the name of love, so we will definitely have different life-styles. The purpose of a relationship is to blend these life-styles together, which cannot be possible without arguments. So, when your lover argues with you about some things, it is not because he or she is troublesome, but because he or she loves you and want to live the rest of his or her life with you, but does not like those things, and he or she want you to stop it. A young lady counselled me by saying; "Listen, when building a house, not all blocks will fit it in, some will be cut into required shapes before fixing it in, in order to get the necessary shape of the house you want to build". This means; you must cut out some things in each other to get the necessary shape of marriage you desire.

Note; IF HE OR SHE PRETENDS IN A RELATIONSHIP, HIS OR HER TRUE PERSON WILL REFLECT IN MARRIAGE, NO ONE CAN HIDE HIS OR HER TRUE PERSON FOREVER. IF HE OR SHE AGREES WITH EVERYTHING YOU DO, WHETHER GOOD OR BAD, IT IS A SIGN THAT HE OR SHE IS PRETENDING, DO NOT LIVE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE WITH A GOAT IN SHEEP'S CLOTHINGS. HOW POWERFUL IS THE TONGUE??

(1) Pro12:18, your tongue determines your health or sickness, many have fallen sick not because of the devil was so strong but because of their mouth, when you don’t use your tongue well you’re piercing your health, but when you use your tongue well you’re calling health and vitality. The truth is most of what we feel some times are just symptoms, but until u say “I AM SICK OR I HAVE A HEAD ACHE” it doesn’t come, so your tongue determines your health. Some people even personalise d sickness they say stuffs like my head ache, my catarrh

(2) The tongue defiles or destroys the whole body, matt15:11,18  it’s not what you take in that matters, its what proceeds out of your mouth, James3:1-9,6 that was why Solomon said he that keeps his tongue keeps his life,Proverbs21:23 before any crisis what you say is what DETERMINE YOUR PORTION.

(3) The tongue determines your total outcome, proverbs12:14, the tongue determines what becomes of you, the Bible says the recompense of the works of your hands is greatly determined by how you speak, so be careful of what you say about what you’re doing proverb13:2-3………………..stop the complains and negative words on your job!! Pro18:20 so your total outcome is what you use your mouth to do, if you want to succeed in life u have to guard your mouth

HOW DO I CONTROL MY TONGUE??

1~~ (James3:1-9 a must read for every one) learn to think before you speak pro29:20ESV,  there is more hope for a fool than for someone who speaks without thinking……………1corin13:11, its only children that talk before they think, it’s not every time you talk,pro25:11……..be prudent with your words, there is always a right time to speak pro15:23 it’s not every time that you’re permitted to make comment,  there are some comments can lead you to disasters.

2~~ Learn to listen carefully before u speak pro18:13, let people finish speaking before you try to answer them that way you won’t look foolish and embarrass yourself, so listen carefully before you talk, james1:19.

Have you notice God gave us our ears and nothing is covering the ears, he gave us our nose and nothing Is covering our nose too but he gave us our eyes and there is what we call eye lid to reduce some of the things we see, then he gave us our tongue and made sure he protected it double, with the teeth and lips so its double protection, that is enough sign to caution us on how we speak

3~~ Learn to be quiet ecc3:7, 1tess4:11, pro15:28, instead of talking too much just let your works talk for u,

4~~ Learn to pray more in the holy spirit, john16:13, the holy spirit will guide you on how to speak, when you pray in the holy ghost u enjoy the regulation of your speech, luke12:12, Romans 8:26, when you pray in the holy ghost you enjoy accuracy of words

5~~ Learn the word (the word of God) the more u learn the word the more u speak like God, psalm 119:11, when your heart is good your mouth is good, matt12:34,2tim2:15-16

 HOW THEN SHOULD I SPEAK??

1~~ Speak less, don’t talk too much…………..people talk too much these days, they say so many irrelevant things like a deformed gramophone ecc5:2-3, matt12:36, every idle words that we speak shall be accounted for in heaven.

2~~ Speak as Gods oracle 1pet4:11 speak the way God would speak, eph4:29, 5:4,

3~~ Speak with grace and divine accuracy, pro22:11,

4~~ Speak life always regardless of the issue, pro13:3ecc5:6

WHEN GOD IS ALL YOU HAVE, THEN HE IS ALL YOU NEED
You can find God, but there is a condition: Seek him with all your heart, you will always get into trouble when you try to handle your life without God, 2chro 32:8~~ With us is the lord our God to help us and to fight our battles
God, the ultimate warrior, lives in you. If you are a soldier for Christ, don't worry about public opinion, only be concerned about your commander's opinion. If you fear God, there is no need to fear anything else.
I believe we should follow Mary Lyons' advice that says trust in God and do something, Satan doesn't care what we worship as long as we don't worship God.
Too many people ask the lord to guide them and then grab the steering wheel, your relationship with God will last if he is first in your life. Often people want Gods blessing, but they don't want him. When you lose God, who is lost, some people talk about finding God as if he could have lost his way. The bible says, " Draw near to God and he will draw near to you"
William law added, nothing has separated us from God, but our own will or rather our own will is our seperation from God.
The bible finds us where we are, and with our permission it will take us where we ought to go. Other books were given to us for information, but God's word was given to us for transformation. A person who merely samples the word of God never acquires much of a taste for it, instead, choose to be a wholly devoted follower of him.
NOTE: Get into the habit of dealing with God about everything, unless in the first waking moment of the day you learn to fling the door wide back and let God in you will work on a wrong level all day, but swing the door wide open and pray to your Father in secret and every public thing will be stamped with the presence of God!

HOLY SPIRIT THE ORIGINAL COMFORTER
"And I will pray the father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you" John14:16-18
ANOTHER COMFORTER IMPLIES THERE WAS AN ORIGINAL COMFORTER
In the above passage, Jesus Christ said he would pray the father to give us another Comforter that will abide with us forever. We love to talk about Jesus. He is our Saviour, he is our Healer, however when you are talking about the Holy Spirit, you are talking about Jesus Christ also. There is only one God.
Jesus said he wanted to go but that he would send us another comforter who will stay with us forever. By saying another comforter, it means that there was a Comforter before. You cannot talk of another Comforter if there was not a Comforter before, the original Comforter was Jesus Christ himself, he is the one called Consolation of Israel.
Luke2:25 says " And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel and the Holy Ghost was upon him"
There are several names given to Jesus Christ and these Names also apply to the Holy Spirit. One of the Names of Jesus Christ is, the Morning Star. He is the Sun of Righteousness , he is the One who brings light into darkness (2Pet1:19) When light comes into darkness, darkness will go while light will stay.
In Isaiah 9:2 we have something about Jesus Christ.
"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined"
Who is the light of the world? Jesus Christ was the light of the world (2 cor 4:4,6) when he got to the house of Jairus, the first thing he did was to drive out all those who were already weeping because of the death of jairus' daughter. He then gave life to the one that was dead. He said the child should be fed. Jesus Christ is the bread of life, whatever Jesus comes in, sorrow goes out, whenever Jesus comes in, death will go out, when ever Jesus comes in, hunger will disappear.
He was a comforter to a sick man, comfort can only come when he is well, comfort comes to the hungry person only when there is food eat.
NOTE: God will comfort you today, any area of your life that you are believing God for a miracle God will comfort you by attending to your needs.

Secondly can you back up your explanation with a scripture where the bible says that once you give your life to Christ the Holy Spirit depends on you, or you automatically have the Holy spirit.

THE HOLY SPIRIT
Many Christians are frustrated, defeated and fruitless, many are wallowing in spiritual poverty, unaware of the great resources of God available to them. How ever, the wonderful truth is that every christain has the potential to live supernaturally, the key is the Holy Spirit. He is the commander in chief of the army of Christ, he is the lord of the harvest, he is the supreme in revival, evangelism and every christain endeavour.
If you do not have the Holy Spirit, you are a subnormal Christain, you are a second class Christain, you are alive as if you were dead, if you have the Holy Spirit, then you are a first class christain.
The Holy Spirit is the secret of the supernatural, he is the secret behind healing miracles, he is the secret behind the word of knowledge, prophecy and the discerning of spirits, if you want to know tomorrow get the Holy Spirit, if you want miracles to happen in your ministry, get the Holy Spirit, if you want to live a successful Christain life get the Holy spirit.
Without the Holy Spirit you are useless, but with the Holy spirit you will be a wonderful person.

We are starting our series on the HOLY SPIRIT, how he works and operate, helping us understand our right in Christ etc. Its promises to be a very interesting and interactive one. Be expectant and open your heart to receive directly from the throne of grace.

"If a man stands with his right foot on a hot stove and his left foot is in a freezer, some statisticians would assert that, on the average he is comfortable" (oral hygiene). Nothing could be further from the truth, God doesn't want us to live our lives with one foot in his will and one foot in the world, he wants ALL of us.
Note: It does not take long to tell where a man's treasure is, I fifteen minutes of conversation with most men, you can tell whether their treasures are on earth or I heaven, as a young man, Billy Graham prayed, " God, let me do something - anything for you." Look at the result of that simple but heart felt prayer.
Those who can see God's hand in every thing can have everything in God's hands. You must let go so you can lay hold. When you have nothing left but God, for the first time you become aware that he is enough, when you do not keep anything from the lord, you show your love for him. "The most important thought I ever had was that of my individual responsibility to God. The world has rarely seen what the lord can do with, for, and through a man who is completely yielded to him, what and how you worship determines what you become, anything that changes your values will change your behaviour for better or for worse.
NOTE: God created the world out of nothing and as long as we are nothing, he can make some thing out of us.

It is absolutely wrong for married couples, as in husband and wife to turn their back on each other while sleeping in bed. As a matter of truth, it is the highest order of abuse on the purpose of marriage, and it is anti-covenant. No matter the differences husbands and the wife have during the day, the matrimonial bed is a place where it should be settled. Moreover the word of GOD tells us not to allow the sun go down on our anger(Ephesians 4:26), so how can you afford to sleep with anger inside you for the man or the woman you claim to love and chose to live with, for the rest of your life? It should be sorted out before sleeping, that is if there will be opportunity to sleep at all.

Home is not a place you live, home is a place you are accepted with love when you are wrong or right. But most people have made their homes unacceptable for their spouses, they pick out every offence of their spouse and magnify it above the joy of the home. A marriage counsellor once said; "the level of joy in a home is largely determined by the level of joy of the matrimonial bed". I am not always quick to dislike those that cheat on their spouse, until I know the reason why they cheat. Most times, they cheat because their homes are not conducive for them to live in happily, so they go out to look for happiness else where. Never allow your spouse to turn his or her back on you, no matter the differences you had in the day. A pastor said to me; young man, the best time to make love to your woman is when there is a bone of contention. After making making love to her, you will realise that the bone of contention have been crunched!
