Give other coastal states a standard sea port and watch them dust Lagos State to the ground...
Exactly but dusting Lagos should not be ur concern but to allow other seaports to develop and be world standards in order to be competitive so as to de-congest Lagos..... .... It seems everything is concentrated in Lagos!

PoliticsRe: Restructuring: It Will Not Be Easy For The North To Give Up Its Advantages - NEF by holums(m): 8:43am On Sep 25, 2017
Restructuring is the best thing..........dialogue ìs a welcome devt by discussing how it should be re-structured., there must be balance, equity and stability to make Nigeria work . The military installations in the North must be de-centralize as they did for petroleum decentralizing some to the North, adjustments in local governments in some states, resource control, autonomy for LG, with these pace of development will speed up. The work of FG should be limited to foreign affairs, Defense, border protection etc. The implementation of 2014 confab will address the agitations. Anything short of this, Nigeria is bound to split into pieces!
PoliticsRe: Okorocha: Hausas Can Win Election Without Igbos, Hence The Hausa-Yoruba Alliance by holums(m): 10:15am On Sep 21, 2017
DaudaAbu:
good. Very good.

The earlier the igbos realise that they need another section of the country the better for them. Democracy afterall is a game of numbers.

You dont fight with all region cos' you might need them 2moro. I doubt even if SE,SS and SW combined votes can defeat NW, NE and NorthCentral.

By way the north central has enjoyed its own fair share of ruling nigeria even more than the hausa/fulani
Gowon frm plateau state (9yrs) and IBB frm Niger state (8yrs), Abdulsalam (1yr) all from north central . Total 18yrs.
It's possible or under probability whether ṢE, SS, SW can win against the North for example in 1993 we have two party system Abiola won against a northern candidate Bashir Tofa cos North can't win alone constitutionally they must win by 2/3.................another example if 2 or 3 candidates in North contested against 1 or 2 candidates in either SW, SE there is tendency that their votes will split so will have to rely on one region or the other to speed up the numbers, no geo-political zone is independent of others(no man is an island)apart from democracy is a game of numbers, strategies and mobilization tactics do win elections that is what SE is lacking. However self determination is their right not a crime but let's be frank with ourselves Nigeria is not working but stagnant the North has ruled this country than any other region, the North is even more backward, impoverished than South go to the north you will see for yourself. It high time we re-structure this country or go in to an impending revolution.

Even if they pass the bill,Nigeria has been structured in a way that it will be difficult for the youth to succeed through the rigorous compromised processes.
The present Nigeria youths are cowards and cannot do more than what they are doing now that is why you see them talking all sorts of rubbish against Nnamdi KANU because they know that through out their life time they cannot muster the kind of courage NKanu has.

Lagos is a Portuguese word my brother. Did i flog you again! Awww! Sorry.
I know you wanna say Eko is coined from Benin language for camp. But the fact that it became a popular name for Lagos back then does not mean it belongs to you guys originally. You have a browser right, just go on Wikipedia and read about Lagos. You should see how you Edo niggas got involved in Lagos affairs in the first place. Or do you want to tell me the Aworis are Edo people also?
Thank you U are on point...............the guy doesn't seems to understand that he can't separate Lagos from SouthWest been Yoruba territory................he should understand that Lagos Island(Isale Eko) is part of Lagos State...........Lagos Island is originally owned by Awori people who migrated from Ile-Ife before the arrival of Benin entourage whose prince once run the affairs of Lagos who gave Lagos Island the name Eko but it doesn't mean Lagos is owned by faraway Bini people in South-south afterall Benin was once ruled by Oranmiyan from Ile-Ife before he left for Oyo............Europeans colonized Africa for many years before they left but they did not wipe away our language and culture

PhonesRe: 9 Things You Should Never Share On Social Media, No 5 Will Shock You by holums(m): 8:35am On Nov 06, 2016
awelekiti:
I agree with you. Many are fond of this and it often affects them one way or the other. There's nothing bad in doing this but we shouldn't forget the fact that we're in a different part of the world. A lady gave birth twice and each time, she would post the picture of her baby on social media....the baby wouldn't live up to a year before passing on. The second time, same happened. I've heard a cousin's wife say she lost pregnancy a few days after she shared the good news with her family and people around her. It's a weird world here. I've been all around the globe but you will never see me show off the pictures of my kids, family or property....i will never do that here. Many marriages have crashed today and they couldn't detect the root cause. Many still don't believe that there diabolical means of attacking people in our clime. Pre wedding this, pre wedding that, bay bump this and that...I hope people would just be wise. In 2004, my cousin was issued a US visa and out of excitement, he was flashing it to every Tom, Dick and Harry. On getting to the POE at JFK, the CBP and Immigration said the picture on the passport didn't resemble what was on the visa sticker. As our people would say....like play, like play, this guy was deported and his visa was ancelled. On getting home, my sister took him to a man of God who said his visa had been cancelled from Nigeria in the spirit by one of those whom he showed it to, that he was only travelling with an empty passport unknowingly. In his own church, his pastor said the same thing as revealed by God. He was asked to pray and observe some fasting and he'd go back with a hitch free admission. He reapplied later and was granted another visa. At the the embassy, they were surprised because the cancelled visa was genuine. The day he was going back, ordinary goat didn't know. At POE, same place the CBP argued that they must have acted in error because his passport and the cancelled visa was devoid of any error...same passport. I just hope people would be wise here. We're mostly architects of our misfortunes but we don't seem to realise this.
U ar on point...........we Africans especially Nigerians we like talking too much, making noise, bragging about what we have achieved publicly on social media even fake achievements we boast about it.............U hardly see the oyinbo people talking too much or making noise they sit and think about making life easy all the time in terms of technology but here we waste a lot of our time busy gossiping, insulting people and we hardly think out of box.......social media is really influencing youths of nowadays negatively, this is a big problem!

SportsI Won't Represent Nigeria Again. by holums(op):
Even before she left the shores of Nigeria for Brazil, Mariam Usman knew that winning a medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics would be a tough call. She would not pretend to be a magician nor claim perfection where there is none. Usman believes one can only reap where one sows
The Commonwealth medallist in the +75kg in weightlifting says she has lost the urge to represent Nigeria at international events.

Mariam was the only weightlifter that represented Nigeria here in Rio. She competed in the +75 category and amassed 265 kg. She finished 8th in her group.

“It is painful to come to the Olympics and see people who are your contemporaries perform better than you; not because you lack the ability but because you were not prepared like them,” she said, while speaking to reporters at the Games Village, here in Rio.

“For me, it is not just about jumping unto the plane every four years to go to the Olympics. Every athlete you see here wants to step on the podium. If you can’t aim to climb up there, you have no business coming to the Olympics. I can only consider going to another Olympics if things change for the better. But if the status quo is maintained, I don’t think I will go to another Olympics again.”

She said training for the Rio Olympics was non-existent while her counterparts from other countries who are competing here in Brazil have been training for three to four years.

“Olympic gold medal doesn’t come cheap. It is painful that one has to suffer and when competition comes they expect you to win a medal with your blood.

“The people you have to compete with had everything they needed: training grants, competitions and are exposed to the most modern equipment. I had nothing. You don’t expect such people who have invested so much to lose to one who don’t even train adequately.”

The African champion said before the 2012 Olympics, she had better training than she did under the current dispensation.

“Yes, I feel 2012 was better. I had better training and my result was better. This time nothing was done to better one’s performance.”
