I don't know what Lagos is trying to achieve by all these industrial and economic thrives. It's too intimidating. There are two countries in Nigeria Lagos and Nigeria. Congratulations to lagosians and to my developer brothers come back home please.

Some people will not have a pleasant weekend grin

You can't credit all Lagosians for this - it's a handful of people with vision and sense of value.

The majority are still touts who throw their litter in the street and drive with careless abandon. The good thing is that most of them will be kept out of environments such as this.

Large private estates are the future of Nigeria. No more street hawkers everywhere. No more police soliciting bribes. No more aboki pushing carts or clipping toe nails (and spreading HIV). No more ashawo patrolling the streets (find a bar stool and rest your feet jare). No more generators running for 10 hours a day. No more bore holes in every compound.

Eko O ni baje. (Southern) Nigeria O ni baje.

As if Johannesburg is a black man product.

it doesn't represent what the blacks have achieved for themselves!

Your answer give so much questions begging for anwers!! Are you succumbing to the fact that blacks are underachievers? Is it difficult for blacks especially Nigeria to copy the developmental model of Johannesburg? How many % of lagosians have access to clean water or electricity?

I am not saying this is not a good development for Lagos and Nigeria in general, but not enough reason for everyone to shout as if the world is coming to an end!

Give other coastal states a standard sea port and watch them dust Lagos State to the ground...
Exactly but dusting Lagos should not be ur concern but to allow other seaports to develop and be world standards in order to be competitive so as to de-congest Lagos..... .... It seems everything is concentrated in Lagos!

You are big liar. What about Rivers state?
Moreover how can that be possible for other state when one idiots just used #520 million naira to erect s statue of a criminal. Mind you the statue has no commercial value and returns

Excuse kill you there

You complained about the absence of sea port, one was given to you just like Yorubas

The host community is naturally hostile to strangers just like entire East, you picked on being disenfranchised again

Excuses after excuses are the reasons why you guys are lacking behind

The difference between Yorubas and the rest is their accommodating environment and people.

The you still remember that Lagos is no more capital of Nigeria so no ore government investment in Lagos. What abt rivers state, delta and Bayelsa , didn’t they have water. One man in the east just used #520 million to erect a statue

This is extraordinary. See Dubai for lagos

How many of the Dubai roads are in terrible shape compared to Lagos state roads?

saints2:
Ever been to Idi-Ara when the Lagos state University Teaching Hospital is situated? Then you will know that this calls for immediate and urgent call for action. LUTH is a reputed to be one of the best in the country, but this is definitely not in terms of infrastructure given the pathetic state of the access road to the hospital. From the first gate to the second gate, it is in its deplorable state. This same road is where vehicles which are bringing in emergencies will pass through. I know some will argue that this road is still good compare to other roads in the state, but what's worth doing is worth doing well. These are visuals we are able to get courtesy of YNaija Monitor!

Seriously dude? How long do you think it takes to build a city? The Dubai that you see today started as a project in 1974. And they are not done yet. They are currently working on another project called the Universe, that will take 15-20 years to build.

Don't let unnecessary hate cloud your better judgment.

So much hatred ,guy nawa 4 u ooo

I don't know if this is envy you're displaying here cos the Edo state you're talking of is a very useless state. I've lived there all my life,Government officials steal like there's no tommorow, road construction is always done during rainy season and the "construction" lasts about 3 years .something that can be done in a month Max!!

it's nobody's fault that other states are striving to be better, don't make excuses for peoples incompetence.

I'm from delta by the way,and my state is wayyy worse than Edo state.

lagos is the pointer to the fact that black are not underarchievers because it is catching up very fast to displace jboug which is a white product. We not underarchievers,we are archiving and by the race of God,Our greatness will be achieved!

Na Jealousy na hin go kill una, Na Seaport bring about this kind developement. The Lagos Governors are going around the world bringing in Investors, una own Governors sit-down there they build Statue for Corrupt individuals. Another city of such is coming soon called the Smart City Africa.

Smart city is in Dubai and they will build two in Africa, one in Lagos and the other in SA. Ambode signed that MOU last year.

Lagos used to be the capital of Nigeria. That pulled people from all other states. They invested and could not leave the investments even after the capital was moved

Moreover Lagos is the gateway to other West African countries . River State is more or less of the last bus stop of southern Nigeria , so the human traffic is minimal.

Also, with and international airport, former stock exchange building, CBN head quarter, etc people have no choice but to come to Lagos to access these institutions.
