I was walking through the dusty path of my street one Sunday afternoon when I noticed this tall and fruitful palm tree. The whole body of the tree was marked with scars, indicating the positions of its leaves which had fallen or chopped off.

SCARS- Signs of Committed Addiction to Real Success
The above illustration is a perfect picture of what some of us are passing through right now. Scars all over our body. Scars of life challenges, Scars of unpleasant circumstances, self sacrifices without positive results, stress, just to mention a few. Some might have even said; "But why me? Do I really have to go through all these?".
The truth is, life challenges are actually a requisite to greatness. They are important curriculum in the school of Greatness, where you and I had enrol as students. Life challenges, trial times, hard times, are required to bring the best out of us and kill the mediocrity in us.

Les Brown, a renowned Motivational speaker once said; DO WHAT IS HARD AND YOUR LIFE WILL BE SIMPLE. DO WHAT IS SIMPLE AND YOUR LIFE WILL BE HARD ". There is always a price to for extraordinary accomplishment. There is always a process to greatness. There is always a training before every promotion, and the intense the training the greater the end result.

Keep Hope Alive...
The training might actually seem painful now, just keep your head up. Let the hope of the end result be your focus.
Life challenges are not meant to tear you apart. Of course, they can't. They are there to mold you into who you are meant to be; A Victor not a Victim. A woman full of strength and virtues.
You are being changed from the inside out, each time you stand up against life challenges for the hope of a greater tomorrow.

Do not forget, the battle gets more fierce when you are closer to victory. It is at this time you need to muster more strength. Let hope come alive within you. Speak words of hope to yourself. Words are really powerful. They have creative powers. Speak what you want, until you see what you have spoken. I speak these words of hope to myself often. You can also do the same. Now, say to yourself:

"I may not be where I should be now, But am not where I used to be. God is working every circumstances for my good. I may not know how or the way He will do it, but I trust which ever way He does it."
Keep saying these words.

Trial Times are Training Times, not Forever...

Life challenges are more, particularly in the area you are meant to impact lives. Nature had designed it in such a way that when you make an head way through these challenges, you would have a success story to tell to those going through similar life challenges and by this, you would inspire and motivate them to press on. In what area of your life are you more challenged?

It is too late for you to give up on yourself now.You had always have God’s backing, keep pressing on. Even in that storm, God is with you.
Have this mindset, that in every circumstances or challenges you find yourself; Learn from it, grow out of it, be transformed into your best self through it. It won't be long, you are coming out of it victoriously.

Let Hope Feed Your Faith and Lift Your Spirit

Do not forget, the scars on the palm tree were needed for the tree to grow into maturity and become fruitful. In the same vein, you don't assume greatness. You grow into it. The process of growth in living cells requires both anabolism and catabolism of macromolecules; that is continuous breaking down(catabolism) and building up(anabolism). Your challenges are actually breaking you up, to set you up and build you up in conformity to God's original design of you, which is the GREAT YOU. YOUR SET BACK IS A SET UP FOR YOUR BACK. Keep Hope Alive. It is always the darkest before the dawn.

Religion / When Your Tomorrow Becomes An History... by Holyfire1(m): 9:14am On Jan 25, 2016
Many had hoped for a better tomorrow. Alas! they never saw the tomorrow they hoped for. Though still living but dead. They had become insignificant even in their own world. What a tragedy! What would you be saying, when the tomorrow you hoped for becomes an history, Or When there are no more goals to purse, owing to the fact that you are already stricken in age. Will you be languishing in regret with words like; "I wish I had done this or that..." or will you be saying; "Thank God I did what I ought to do each day of my life ".

I could recall a blockbuster movie by the then James Bond, titled; TOMORROW NEVER DIES". Yes! their will always be a tomorrow. However, every tomorrow will just be like any other day of fultility, Unless you choose to have the better tomorrow you want for yourself, and that can only be gotten by the preparation you made today.

Then the Lord answered me and said:
“Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it." (Habbakuk 2:2 NKJV)

Today is the tomorrow of your yesterday. Yesterday is gone and beyond your reach. Today is in your hands to control. But tomorrow, you never know. Therefore, use today which is in your control to produce the tomorrow you will see and be happy about.

Good planning is good when you do it today; "write the vision..." when? Today. Moreso, taking bold steps on plans made today is good for tomorrow; "that he may run that readeth it".
Do not only make plans for tomorrow, today. Also, do yourself good by taking actions on your plans for the tomorrow you hoped for.
Why wait and waste, do something. Waiting can be so disastrous as even time itself waits for no man. In decision making, the best decisions you can ever make are the right ones. The second best decisions are the wrong ones. The least of all and the most dangerous is not making decisions at all, just sitting, waiting and wasting.
Do not be afraid to take bold steps as regards issues that concern your life and destiny. Mere sitting and waiting will not bring that tomorrow you hoped for closer to you. The best waiting can do for you is to make you day-dream and give you false hope of an unrealistic tomorrow.

Friends, its high time we break ourselves loose from the laxity and procrastination that is creeping into our life in the name of "God's time is the best, let's wait". Every day and every time is God's, but the day you take a step for a change is your own day and that day, your change has just began. It takes faith to step out.
You have waited too long, now is the time to make the change for a better tomorrow. Go for that professional course. Be certified in that field you choose. That heaven on earth home can actually be yours only if you decides not to wait and waste but rather take a step of faith. Desperate people do desperate things. They are stubborn with there vision. They have a vivid picture of a better tomorrow and they settle not less of the picture they saw. The tomorrow you want for yourself will not come to you Unless you get up and walk into it yourself.

Like all others, I joined in the race

Going at a much soothing pace
Until the tide changed before my face

Indeed, it has been a rat race

Running from place to place
With the hope of finding a resting place

Life tempest never cease to raise its eye brow at my face
Despite my struggle to get out of this maze
The hurdles of life seems to slow down my pace

My God! Where is your face?
As I look up in search of His face
There I saw a comforting gaze
With much pleasant smile on His face

He gave me grace
Which changed the course of my race
Oh! I never deserve His grace

If not for His grace
Despair would have spat on my face
His grace found me in that place
A place where all hope is raze
And the ashes of hope set ablaze

He lace my race with His grace
Now am not running as uncertainty in the race
Even after I had ran a purposeful race
I have the hope of a resting place

Literature / If "You" Were "Me"... by Holyfire1(m): 2:35pm On Jan 23, 2016
Understanding your peculiarity keeps you away from unnecessary competition with others. It makes you Stay clear off jealousy, envy and hatred for others who are doing well in their own sphere. You are 'you'. 'You' cannot be 'me'. The only words which brings you and me together are; 'and' and 'with', which are purposely for partnership and for togetherness, so as to accomplish a greater task jointly and not to compete with each other.

THE REAL YOU
The real you is inside of you, not in others. Do not look for your true self in what others are doing. You are unique and different from others.
Until you discover your true self, you might still think others are Living your own life. Hence, the struggle for competition begins.
We are not created in life to struggle or compete with others. We are all uniquely engineered for a purpose. Each of us is created for accomplishment. But, until you discover that particular life task you are meant to accomplish, the struggle just began. Release your true self from his hiding place within you and let him come out in true identity of what he can do and accomplish.

CAN ANYTHING GOOD COME OUT OF ME?
Actually, the challenge is with our container, called THE BODY. It houses our true self and thereby provides us with a false identity of ourself by making us think nothing 'good' can actually come out of us. Just like the biblical Nazareth, when the question was asked, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth? Come and see". We are all witness to this; Jesus the saviour of the World.
Since the saviour of the World could come out of the relegated Nazareth, then, great feat, great discoveries, can actually come out of you. The principle is just simple; your body is not meant to dictate to you what you are meant to do. Take charge, be in control of yourself.

It requires a refining process, which is subject to time and life challenges before our true identity can manifest.
It requires you stretching yourself beyond your elastic limit. There is more you can accomplish with that which you see as little or insignificant. Do consistently that which you know how to do, that which gives you fulfillment and satisfaction. Do it and improve on it each day. Challenge yourself. Say to yourself, "There is more to what I can do with my life. I can. I will".

I JUST FUMBLED
Whenever you stumble
You say, 'I just fumbled'
No! Your stumble is to make you humble
To make you realize that it is not by your muscle

Though enemies might want to throw you pebbles;
God will build you an impenetrable wall of marbles
To shield you from there trouble

Every tumble leads to a change in level;
Even in the middle of the fearsome tumble
God’s angels surrounds you at every angle
To give you peace with the sound of their beagle

You will get an anchor rather than a sickle;
If you remain humble
And at the end of the tumble,
You will also realize that God is able
To help the feeble and humble

RELATIONSHIP PALAVA

I decide within myself to start following Sola and Deborah to church often, not because I am an ‘SU’ or I want to be a spiritual sister, but because I have a crunch on Mr. Daniel.
Mr. Daniel, popularly called Pastor Dan by the church members, is the assistant pastor to the residential pastor of our church. Mr. Daniel is also the branch manager of one of the leading commercial banks in my area. He is a tall, dark and handsome looking young. Pastor Dan has always been the answer to my prayer on the type of man I desire for a husband. He speaks so calmly, ever smiling and always welcoming. I won’t deceive you, Mr. Daniel is also ‘nairaloaded’.
To cut the long story short, I had always desire to get along Pastor Dan’s path in the past so that he could at least notice me. Alas! Our spiritual brother never took note of me o. I knew it was because of my flamboyant make-ups and my hot peplum gown that makes him ignore me. If you want to catch a monkey, you act like one. I joined the league of the ‘bless you brother’, though I knew I had a goal and that I was just pretending anyway.
It was after the service on Sunday, everyone were exchanging pleasantries as usual, so I decided to locate Pastor Dan before he enters the Ministers’ office. Fortunately for me, he was the one who preached that Sunday morning, so I hijacked the opportunity. “Morning sir, today’s message was so wonderful,” I said. You can’t imagine what happened afterward, I was surprise by his gesture, but at the same time was not too surprise.
I was surprise because Pastor Dan welcomed my greeting with a warmth smile and a side hug. That was unusual of him, maybe my feigning attitude had deceived him. At the same time, I was not too surprise because Pastor Dan’s spirituality was revealed in his manner of conversation.
“Would you like to see me in the Ministers’ conference room”, he said to me. I agreed immediately even before he concluded his statement. However, I was concerned about the reason why he wants to see me in the Ministers’ conference room. Could it be that he has fallen for me? Has he been eyeing me before now? Did he want to propose relationship? These and many more questions where running through my mind.
I summoned the courage and went with him to the conference room. As we sat down facing each other, I began so anxious to hear what he had to say. It wasn’t up to 10 minutes that we started the conversation before I started weeping. Those words from his mouth caught me to the heart. It was as if Pastor Dan knew all that had been the burden of my heart. He said many things about me, just like a prophet. About my life, about my future and what could be of me in the future.
As tears were rolling down my cheek, he asked,’ have you given your life to Christ?’, with sobbing, I responded ‘No’. He then prayed with me and told me what I ought to do. He also prayed for me to receive the Holy Ghost and I received it instantly. I started growing in the Lord. Sola and Deborah knew that I had change. They were so happy for me because my growth has been rapid.
I was already in my finals at the school of Nursing when the Holy Ghost spoke to me oneday. It was a trance, very brief. I saw a full name in bold prints, a name I heard not seen or heard of before, immediately I heard a voice in my spirit "that is your husband". I was not too surprise because Sola and Deborah had told me similar thing, which I never gave regards to out of ignorance.
I told Sola and Deborah to join me in prayers. As God would have his way, that same week, I came across a young man whom we meet in church after the Sunday service. Somehow, God brought us together and we exchanged pleasantaries. To my utmost surprise, his full name was exactly the same name I saw in that vision. We became friends and exchanged contact. I told Sola and Deborah about him and they both smiled at me. Mr. Paul Scott is a cousin to Pastor Dan who came visiting that same week. I kept my vision from him and Pastor Dan too. He calls often to check on me, send text messages, we became "close friends". This was how the whole thing started o. He told Pastor Dan about his interest for me. Pastor Dan called me to tell me about it, it was then I narrated the vision I once had to Pastor Dan.
It was a new beginning for me. I realize God does things for a purpose. My delay was God at work. Mr. Scott is indeed God's choice for me. I love him so much. He cares for me too. Our courtship has been so wonderful, We pray together and God has been revealing things about our marriage to us.

THIS RELATIONSHIP "PALAVA"
I am so fortunate, maybe favoured of God, to have such God fearing ladies as friends, even though I don't deserve them. To be honest with you, these ones indeed fear God truly, everybody knows it, even the devil knows it himself . Sola and Deborah never miss their morning devotion, not for a day, since the past two and a half years we've being together as nursing students. As for me, I am not use to those early morning, long duration prayers. Don't misquote me o, not that I don't pray, I do recite the Lord's prayer at least, especially whenever am in the bathroom preparing for the day's work. I must let you know, I don't joke with my sleep.
Sola could wake up in the middle of the night to study both her text books and the Bible too. Deborah's own is worst, did I just said worst, I mean too "spirikoko", She could pray for hours on her knees, praying in tongues. Little wonder our neighbours call them "SU" while me 'swaggalicious' sister.

Wait o! Could all these be the reason while they have such wonderful finance?
I think I know what to do, I said to myself.

I decide within myself to start following Sola and Deborah to church often, not because I am an ‘SU’ or I want to be a spiritual sister, but because I have a crunch on Mr. Daniel.

THIS RELATIONSHIP 'PALAVA'. part 1

It wasn't my fault o. You wouldn't have blamed me either, would you? Come to think of it, my friends are already hooked up to theirs. They speaks so highly of them, even in their absence, especially Sola. Though Deborah talks of her own too, but not like the way Sola does hers. Am not jealous of them o, don't crucify me yet. They are my very good friends anyway. Hmmm! I am older than the both of them, despite the fact, I had not gotten a suitor.

Sola's fiance, a tall and handsome looking young man. His handsomeness is revealed by the charming look of his slightly bulged eyeballs. What about Deborah's fiance, Whao! he is a man every lady prays to have as an husband. The love and cares he showered on her made me conclude that indeed good men are like the back of a fresh orange fruit while we the "beautiful" ladies are the sweet juice in it.
If I had not known much about who a virtuous woman is, according to our pastor's wife everyday sermon, Sola and Deborah are living evidence of what my pastor's wife says about a virtuous woman.
