PoliticsRe: State Of Emergency: FG Took Us By Surprise - Northern Elders Forum by HolyTruth(op): 6:38am On May 30, 2013
These bunch of clowns never cease to amaze me. The FG should announce to them...perhaps even breast feed and baby seat them before doing what is necessary as if Boko Haram consults the FG before launching deadly attacks on innocent citizens.

These northern ignoramus still think we dwell in the past when they manipulate their ways into getting whatever they wanted through unguided incoherent political tricks as these

PoliticsState Of Emergency: FG Took Us By Surprise - Northern Elders Forum by HolyTruth(op): 6:31am On May 30, 2013
The Northern Elders Forum is threatening to take the Federal Government to the ICJ claiming it was not consulted by the Government before the SOE was declared. The forum considered this a declaration of war on the north.
According to its spokesman,
“The proclamation of the state of emergency came to us as a surprise because of the way it came about soon after a change of policy and strategy, which incorporated dialogue and reconciliation,”

PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Forced Lamido On Jigawa People by HolyTruth:
May our good God grant common sense and wisdom to these set of Nigerian leaders.

The last time I checked, democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people.

Why would OBJ detect, nominate, impose or rig in a Governor for the people of Jigawa? And even have the guts to openly announce it...congratulating him and himself as per being "the god" of the people of Jigawa.

This is an insult to the people of Jigawa...this is a let down and injustice. A show of shame!

Uyi Iredia: Western nations have doled out money to Nigeria for a while now so that is not a good reason to praise GEJ's administration. I hope the money is judiciously used.
Is that all you can deduce from the post? Why allow stupidity and sentiments to take over your sense of judgement and thought process. Did you not see the statements below?

"The High Commissioner acknowledged that since his arrival in the country three years ago, “we have seen great improvements in governance in your country."

Why do nairaland moderators allow threads against Igbos but at the same time waste no time in suspending and closing down threads exposing yorubas?

Selfish people.
You may be right. But politics is about interest. No businessman invests without expecting good returns
PoliticsCanada Gives $5m For Nigeria’s 2015 Polls by HolyTruth(op): 9:29pm On May 26, 2013
The Canadian government has said it was satisfied with Nigeria’s democratic credentials and promised to provide the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) with $5 million to conduct the 2015 general elections. The Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Chris Cooter, said at an interactive session with the media and civil society groups on Sunday in Benin city, that his country was impressed with INEC’s conduct of the 2011 general elections and other subsequent elections in some states of the federation.

“We hope it will get better in 2015 and we have dedicated about five million dollars to that project.

“We will be working with Prof. Jega and INEC very closely to promote democracy in Nigeria” he declared.

The High Commissioner acknowledged that since his arrival in the country three years ago, “we have seen great improvements in governance in your country.

“It does not mean we have to have a revolution, but it just means that there has to be a little more of transparency in governance and a bit more of good governance to make a difference in most peoples’ lives.

“It is never a straight path. But a path that requires lots of people working together, But I am confident that Nigeria will make lots of progress because we have had a great year with Nigeria”.

He however, added that the vibrant presence of civil society groups “is a guarantor of good governance”.

He said after travelling to 29 of the 36 states in Nigeria, he could realize the improved difference in governance.

Yet haters would never see anything good in GEJ. I have always told those haters that " there is never anything hidden under the sun"

Seems I have been vindicated by the Canadian envoy.

babanaba: You know you are the most learned person on earth. You are more learned than everyone on this forum.
You said..I quote you "the present Iduu of Igbo land the greatgrand son of Eri personally showed me the portion where the Edo's started their journey from".His he a Nigerian or not?Besides a Kingdom that stated over a thousand years ago how come or what can you show to prove that they moved from that portion.
Please don't bring you arrogances and ignorance into this.Apart from what do on a daily base history is one of my hobbies.
He personally told me that the edo's migrated from Enugu aguleri and showed me the area where they migrated from..I don't have that recorded.
So the appropriate thing to do is to try to prove him either wrong or right..and after I saw ur earlier post I did a little research on nairaland and discovered the link I posted.
Now...I personally don't think there is anything to gain from the bini's or the binin kingdom for me to make up such claim...

babanaba: But you know that you are telling a bloody lie?!
Dude...if you are learned, then the right thing is to disprove me. If you don't have any fact, then the best thing to do is to keep quite and stay quiet until you have some facts.

As I speak I have a thousand and one facts to support my claims.

At a single search on nairaland I was able to pull up this particular link...Now the researcher in question is not even a nigerian. So if you have any beaf take it to him or deal with it. Thx

iHustle: Thank you my brother. Like Prof. Achebe said, "you cannot tell me who I am". Yoruba historians have tried to distort Edo history. Thank God for Oba Erediauwa ans his book.

Prince Ekaladerhan became the king of Ife and said to himself "imadoduwa", meaning "I did not miss the path to glory". Oduduwa is the Yoruba corruption of Imadoduwa. the word Oduduwa has no meaning in both Edo and Yoruba languages. The Yoruba story of Oduduwa is more like a fable.

The ancestor of we Edos is Idu. The first king of Benin was Obagodo who was the first of the Ogisos. The lineage continues till this very day.
Nice one.

But do you know that Idu migrated from Enugu Aguleri. Eze Chukwuemeka Eri..the present Iduu of Igbo land the greatgrand son of Eri personally showed me the portion where the Edo's started their journey from. ERI is the prognator of the Igbo race.

I am not making this up. I am speaking from fact. You may wanna make more research...also check the link below.

PoliticsRe: I Am Neither Cpc Nor Acn, I Only Discharge My Duties To Buhari – Pastor Bakare by HolyTruth: 2:52am On May 20, 2013
utumunta: Nigeria is just a theatre of absurdities. Even the man you think should know, knows nothing!
Bakare is not a member of the CPC but attends the congress, move motions at the congress and was a vice-presidential candidate of the party. There is no provision for independent candidature in our laws and should the courts stop him from contesting, they will accuse the PDP of witch-hunt. Bakare is a lawyer and should know better.
Buhari, the man with the magic wand that is going to end corruption in Nigeria is too "diskpleened" to obey the law. Foisting a non-party member on others as a running mate is the height of dictatorship and thumbing his nose at the law.

He looks to me as sincere, bold and calculated... does not have a sharp memory though...lol

At a point he even challenged any willing Bornu elder present to sign a guarantor form in exchange for complete withdrawal of all military installations in Bornu State. The volunteer however would be held responsible should there be further loss of human life, to which they gladly declined.

PoliticsRe: Wole Soyinka's Interview About Chinua Achebe by HolyTruth: 5:44am On May 19, 2013
Soyinka's is definitely a good man. No one can take it away from him. But I perceive some atom of jealousy - bad belle - in his response. Why not simply leave it as " Achebe deserves to be the Father of African Literature"

By making such remark, someone else would possibly refer to him (Wole) as the "King or Grand father of African Literature" at his demise.

There is a local adage that translates as follows " He who serves the King lives to become a King" - Just a food for thought
PoliticsRe: Wole Soyinka's Interview About Chinua Achebe by HolyTruth: 5:41am On May 19, 2013
babyosisi: Wole Soyinka should be careful not to destroy the legacy he has built by involving himself in unsavory affairs.
The first time the Prof disappointed me was when he spoke in support of Patience Jonathan's perm sec appointment, now this.

Chinua Achebe was called the father and grandfather of African literature by others
He did not label himself that
People recognized his immeasurable contribution to African literature and bestowed on him that honor in his lifetime so it is quite petty for WS whom I respect a great to utter such words.
It makes him sound jealous and he should be above such pettiness.
Michael Jackson was called the King of Pop
Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll
Donna Summer was the Queen of Disco While Aretha Franklin is and remains the Queen of soul
That label on Chinua is deserving.

Secondly why speak about Chinua's Book in his death what you couldn't say while he was alive?
I love Soyinka but his words here are beneath a man of his calibre
Maybe old age is setting in
Still respect you sir but you disappoint me here once again

Good job Asa...U've said my mind

PoliticsRe: GEJ Divides Newly Formed Opposition Party A.P.C.....Me I dey Laugh!!! by HolyTruth:
Prof Corruption: The parties are still distinct. It's only after registration of APC that one expects them to speak with one voice. Educate yourself.
Illitrate Prof. The OP made some vital points. I expected you to keep quiet and suck it in as others have done. Must you always make a statement?
FYI ACN, ANPP and CPC formally dissolved into APC last week, May 11 2013 precisely and are expected to flag off 2015 campaign by June 9. So a competent group should by now have a transitional body responsible for public relations or better still should learn to make joint speech. so how has it become the OP's fault that the new opposition party are still divided and having unresolved conflicting ideologies?
