Business / Re: Help! #200,000 With No Business Idea by Hombrenoir: 11:43am On Mar 05, 2012
@niyeee, With the amount that you have you can only survive if you could get the land for free. The only way to do that is to go back to your village and use your family land for a start. You could talk to your parents, uncles, maternal uncles, etc.

Agric is a slow but lucrative area. 200k is hardly enough to buy the planting crops/seeds, farm impliments, fertilizers, etc. But if you are patient, you will get better with each planting season. But don't stop searching for answers until you have made it. Goodluck.
Business / Re: What Products Are Best Bought In Dubai? by Hombrenoir: 11:25am On Mar 05, 2012
Gift items, kitchen wares, and furnitures. Original electronics are better in USA and Chinese made ones are better from China.
Business / Re: Electronic Prices In Nigeria by Hombrenoir: 11:11am On Mar 05, 2012
@Keflex, you really need to do your home work very well before importing anything to Nigeria. I know people who went to Dubai and purchased goods at a price higher than the price in Lagos. When the cost of shipping and clearing is added it becomes very expensive. Some of us have also imported things from China and by the time the goods arrived they were very differnt from the pictures we saw before placing the orders. You need to know the products very well before importing.

@Amtheone, You can help him more if you could mention two or more major dealers in electronics at Alaba market so that it will be easier for him to know who to talk to. Note that many people are scared of going to Alaba market because of the fake and 419 dealers. But if you recommend some shops he may even get in touch with them on phone since he is in PH.

Hello all, could you give some more clarifications on your rates by sea and by air in Naira. I would also like to know the additional cost if I want the goods delivered to me in Port Harcourt. Does this cost cover shipping and clearing? I am into Electronics and computer related products.

Business / Re: Looking For Business Ideas, On Low Key Investment. by Hombrenoir: 1:26pm On Jan 24, 2012
-Zil-, It appears that you have ICT background. If so, why don't you explore some other ICT related businesses? Depending on your level of skills, you can go into programming/software development, web design, on-line store set-up, or ICT training facility where you teach basic packages like MS word, powerpoint, excel, project, and some other packages.

I am not into professional consultancy services yet (I don't charge fees) so, I wouldn't like to post my email address on a public site like this one. I also prefer open discusions on this platform with no strings attached. But if you must contact me personally, then drop your email address and I will mail you mine. Have a beautiful day.

Carfeel, please if you have a genuine business idea then let it out so that others will benefit from it. That is the essence of a forum like this. This also will enable those who have experimented with such ideas to give their advice to the new comers to the business.

-Zil-, the business you can do depends on so many factors, namely, your skills, talents, interests, location, finance, contacts, etc. So, when you receive business ideas you may need to check if you have the required factors to succeed in that type of business. This is why an open discussion like this may be of help to you. Good luck.
