SportsRe: Zambia, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia - AFCON 2013 Group C by honeric01(mod): 7:57pm On Jan 25, 2013
CFCfan: If Burkina Faso wins this match and beats Zambia on Tuesday, they will top d group and avoid CIV.
But I think d game between Mukina Faso and Zambia will end in a draw.

Naija can top d group if we beat Ethiopia, and this game ends in a draw, or other favorable results go our way.
Quarterfinal is always not easy for any team, teams always play with caution.

Abi I should record a song? I may not be a football genius, but I know a good game when I see it, and whether those SS analysts (and the rest of you faithless, unpatriotic, sell-out Nigerians) admit it or not, the Super Eagles were the BETTER team.

RedReact: My brother, the word 'cursed' is too harsh. Please stop using it cos of its denigrate nature. Funny enough, Nigerians are too hard to be please. The team played well today, but the coach"s tactical error in bringing in forwards instead of fortifying the not-so-existing midfield. Above all, the ref gave a wrong penalty against our team. Despite the fact that our team have been lacklustre for some years now, people have been supporting the team and still hopeful. We all want to see the glorious days of SE back, when the mention of SE will send shiver down the spine of opponents. Our hope for the glorious days to come is what is breeding this impatience in us. Let's learn to accommodate others' shortcomings. Peace!!!
He brought in Obiora to add to the strength of the midfield. so who else should he have brought in to strengthen the midfield?

Nigerians indirectly curse the team, meaning they are cursing themselves, which means they're cursed. simple explanation.

Afam4eva: The fact that a lot of people left their crazy schedules to watch a Super eagle team that have disappointing them in past shows that they're still patriotic and they have the right to lash out at the team because they know Nigeria has what it takes to run over any team in Africa but due to bad running of football in this country, things have gone down under. If we can protest against fuel subsidy, Jonathan etc, then why not the super eagles. is it not the task payers money that's been used to fund the team?

THIS IS A LIE, THEY CAME TO MOCK, NOT TO SUPPORT, THEY CAME TO LAUGH AT THEMSELVES INDIRECTLY.. FOOLISH PEOPLE, THEY CAN SUPPORT ANYTHING FOREIGN EVEN IF THE TEAMS THEY ARE SUPPORTING HAVEN'T WON ANY TITLE FOR YEARS, THEY EVEN FIGHT FOR THESE FOREIGN TEAMS, BUT WHEN IT COME TO THE SE, THEY MOCK AND CURSE.

THE EVIDENCE CAN BE SEEN HERE ON THIS THREAD, EVEN THOSE WHO DIDN'T WATCH THE MATCH END UP INSULTING THE TEAM.

CURSED PEOPLE!

Why did God curse Nigeria with so many useless citizens?

THE SE commanded the game from start to finish, the ref gave the game away, yet some cursed Nigerians are blaming the players/coach.

Onatzi was a great addiction to the defence/attack line and did nothing wrong at all, the team played well, better than the first match.

GODDAMMIT!

This is to show how dark hearted some Nigerians are.

SportsRe: Is Joseph Yobo a good Captain by honeric01(mod): 3:15pm On Jan 25, 2013
Eklektika: The Joseph Yobo I knew who used 2 play 4 Olympic Marseille in France was a very good n reliable player. He was peerless in d Right Full Back position. At d 2002 World Cup in Korea n Japan,he was among d outstanding players dat Nigeria came 2 d Mundial wit. Remember dat Super Cross wit wich Julius Efosa Aghahowa scored d Super Eagles' only goal at dat Mundial. Few seasons later,d transition 4rm his tactically adept position of Right Full Back 2 Centre Half was imperceptible but permanent evnthough it was intended 2 b remedial in both Club(Everton, wich he had just recently moved 2) n Country. Because a permanent 5 n 6 pairing cud nt b found in d National team(Isaac Okoronkwo,Joseph Enahkhire etal were poor n unconvincing),he was drafted in there. At first d mistakes cud b ignored. But wit time it starte d getting worse(remember dat pass across d Toffees' box wich a then-deadly Wayne Rooney capitalised on 2 score 4 Man Utd?). Moyes saw wot we r seeing now n promptly allowed him 2 leave 4 Fenerbache. This problem, subtle as it is,has also afflicted John Mikel Obi,a player who wd hv by now bn a classy playmaker had he bn allowed 2 flourish in dat role. Un4tun8ly,we hv 2 deal wit both players' mediocre displays in their unorthordox n unadapted tactical position. Thats y both of them look n feel ill-at-ease in their current positions. Rather dan blame or villify him,I think we shd back him, sha,IMO. Its easy 2 criticize, but bn a footballer no be beans o!
As if we haven't been seeing "traditional center defenders making worse mistakes than the ones Yobo's made so far. Terry has has made worse mistakes than Yobo, Ferdinand also, Gerald Pique and Puyol make silly mistakes too. Bruno Alves silly back pass to Hilton, Calvaho's mistakes e.t.c.

You all can keep note of his mistakes but not when he saves you people from goal mouth clearance.
Last minute header
one touch stop against the Kenyans en-route SA 2010. e.t.c

Make una dey blame as usual o.

BTW, Gerald Pique was not a traditional CB, was formally a striker, now a known name when it comes to the CBs of this world.

It's not about changing roles, football and mistakes can't be separated.
