cherieb2: Van Gaal can't survive with dis 3 man defence. Not in premiership n definitely not with dis inexperience defenders.
That's a 4 man defence, not 3!

I can authoritatively say that match fixing is live and running in the Epl.

just watch the games and the officiating for clues.

Is this the best ref Epl can produce?

2 out of the home side's goals are nothing but rubbish goals

ddippset: that'sthe prolem we have. Infact from day one. You are playing away to levante and you opt to leave your best players on the bench! You want to mess with levante right, or are you unhappy with the 6 point lead over madrid? Abeg make we stop this kind of arrogance. 2 years ago we wereindomitable and out of this world but today nobody even reckons with us. We should use sense to elect the kinds of games we rest players, maybe a barca versus eiber at home or a barca versus valladolid at home but definitely not levante away! Having said this, my lineup- alvez, alba, pique, mathieus, iniesta, busquets, rakitic, messi, neymar and munir. Madrid just collected 3 points and plus 6. We must collect ours!
You left out your goal keeper cheesy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by honeric01(m): 2:06pm On Sep 20, 2014
After the successful debut in the UEFA Champions League last Wednesday, Barcelona's focus is once again in La Liga, as the Blaugrana have three challenging opponents in seven days. The first one is Levante. It should be an easy contest, but playing away from home in the Ciutat de Valéncia Stadium might make the match a lot more difficult than expected.

Luis Enrique will once again make changes to his squad, using his philosophy of rotating the roster as much as possible to get the best out of everybody.

So what about playing Lucho and trying to guess which lineup the boss will choose? Use the comment section below to give us your take on the 18 players the coach should select, providing your opinion on the starting lineup and the bench guys. Don't forget to state why do you want each player!

My Lineup

I would say that Lucho will play basically the same team from last week, against Athletic Bilbao. Most of the guys are rested and ready to go. What about Lionel Messi? He's played all 360 minutes so far, so it would be interesting to see if he still cracks the starting XI or if Enrique gives him a spot on the bench.

Anyways, this is my squad:

Starting XI (4-3-3): Bravo; Montoya, Piqué, Mathieu, Alba; Busquets, Rakitic, Iniesta; Rafinha, Munir, Pedro.

Bench: Stegen, Alves, Mascherano, Adriano, Xavi, Messi, Neymar.

Now let me see what is your lineup!

http://www.barcablaugranes.com/2014/9/20/6573555/barcelona-vs-levante-predict-the-lineup

My line up
GK Bravo – No reason to drop him, he’s been pretty comfortable in his 3 games.
RB Montoya – Alves started the last game, don’t see douglas starting his first game away from home.
CB Mathieu – He’s our best defender RIGHT now, despite having a couple shaky clearances, and he rested during the week.
CB Bartra – Deserves some more game time. I wouldn’t be shocked if Pique started ahead of him.
LB Alba – Again, rested during the week and should start.
CDM Busquets – This was a toss up between BUSI and Masche, they both rested during the week.
RCM Rakitic – Was missed against APOEL, would be very surprised if he is left out again.
LCM Iniesta – Rested, despite coming on against APOEL. I would prefer Rafinha getting a start, but I don’t see that happening.
RF Munir – He’s been very impressive, just needs to be more composed in front of goal
CF Messi – Don’t think he will rest for this game, maybe he gets subbed if the scoreline is comfortable late on
LF Neymar – Came on against Bilbao and saved the day, had a good game against APOEL, his fitness is getting better, I expect him to start this game

Bench: ter Stegen, Douglas, Pique, Masche, Xavi, Rafinha ,Sandro
Sandro for Messi to give him a needed rest
Douglas for Montoya to test him out (if the game is already won)
Rafinha for Iniesta/Rakitic

sojihandsome: i think Betting Companies should also en devour to go and sponsor Nigeria clubs, foreign investors are also not exempted and i think with that on ground the league will be alive than this.
Nigerian league is not ripe for betting companies, too volatile and likely to cause excess corruption.

barackohandso: Lol

All defenders you mentioned here have all had their moments, top ones at that. What is Bartra's greatest moment for us? And if you keep using his age as an excuse, remember there are younger defenders who are doing far better

Not really judging with the Bale incident but at one stage during that incident, I was applauding him for pushing Bale out, until I saw Bale in front again shocked, it wasn't even a dribble, just pace. Now tell me, if any of the defenders you mentioned were in that exact position, wouldn't Bale have been stretched out. Hell Mascherano would have cleared Bale, and even walk out of the pitch knowing fully well he deserves a red card.
You keep saying Bartra should do better at 23 because pique was better at 23 forgetting the fact that pique has Puyol to nurture him. pique had an on the job training, so bro pls tell me, who is nurturing Bartra? pique or Mascherano? abeg who?

No need sweating, you want to see Bartra's greatest moment? check when he scored goals that won us matches, also check when his tackles helped us avoid defeats, you can type Bartra into YouTube to get what you seek.

enough said.

dmcdad: Not to mention that Sergio Ramos was completely outclassed by Robben in the World Cup. Now if Ramos could be run over by Robben, imagine the speed-demon 'Bale'?

Really, to be frank, it's not fair on Bartra. I didn't see what he did wrong last season. Or is it just me. In matches that he had the duty of marking certain players out, he did it excellently. Like what he did to Giorgios Samaras.

Na wa sha...

sebod: As in seriously I am surprised bro! Someone said he was the reason we went trophyless last season. So what do we say about Pinto who could barely save a goal or Busquets who was a real shadow of himself or Alves who obviously left his natural position only to expose Batra against Bale. The almighty Puyil couldn't have stopped Bale either but wouldn't have allowed him back to the pitch(that's experience). He may not be the next Puyol but definitely not as bad as some cules are now painting him.
I just tire o

The 2 rookie clubs should be used to give Munir, Roberto, Bartra, Bravo/Ter Stegen, Rakitic and the likes the UCL experience they need. tongue

It seems alot of people here forget things so easily or is it that some of us just type anything based on our mood?

So Bartra is suddenly bad and should be offloaded?

Who among our defenders last season was better than Bartra?

On this same board, people commended Bartra more than any other defender, all of a sudden, he should be offloaded.

Too many unstable thoughts only on this thread. SMH

Before you use Bale's incidence to ridicule the young chap, do not forget that every good defender out there have once or twice been disgraced by attackers.

Kompany against Di Maria
David Luiz against Muller e.t.c

You're obviously about 2 years outdated on what's going on in Barcelona.

Your present king in Arsenal (Sanchez) enjoyed alot of passes from Messi, hence the reason he was able to score 16 goals for us, for now Messi does more of assists than scoring. the guy don tire to dey score, so he does the assist.

our 2: 0 home win against Bilbao was made possible thanks to Messi for the great passes he gave Neymar.

The 1:0 away win against Villareal which occurred in the 89th minutes was made possible by Messi's goalmouth pass to Munir.

You are outdated and I am not surprised, this is common with EPL noisy fans. hehehehehehe
