rickkid: And on the second goal, Ambrose was simply ball wwatching while Bifouma strolled past him.

Ambrose is becoming a problem to the team.

He is an excellent ball-player and an offensive threat but defensively he is just average at best. I can't believe he is a first choice centre-back for a UEFA champions league club.

Someone needs to work on his positioning skills. They're costing us.
His club is not among the UCL clubs

dabossman: Yes Oboabona. Omeruo was the one who headed the ball down towards Oboabona on the touch line. Oboabona chased the Congolose player who lost him. Omeruo then moved in to close the player down, but the Congolese cut in leaving Omeruo sprawling on the turf. The Congolese player then cut the ball back for his team mate. Boom! Goal!
Omeruo caused the goal with his weak head pass from the start.

btoks: Unfortunately, this is trying to explain the verse away but this goes against Christian history. Can these believers also retain sins?
If believers can't retain sins, then why should "priest" retain sin? are they more of a believer than a believer or do they possess some exclusive right to forgive and retain sins?

could that be the reason for thier loss to Congo?
check out the keeper, onazi, mikel etc
No excuse for them, they must win o.

In essence, all true believer can forgive sins. not reserved for any pastor, priest or whatever if we are to go by that verse.

dabossman: The first Congolese goal showed a lack of tactical sense by Oboabona. An opposing player takes you on a mazy run down your flanks and is heading for you 18-yard box. You know you are loosing out on the race, the simple solution is to foul him. Yellow card and free-lick is the most that will happen. He wasn't the last man, neither was it a direct attempt at goal. I remember Paolo Maldini at USA 94 pulling such a stunt on Yekini. Maldini was the last man in defence and Yekini was about to go past him with pace. Maldini grabbed his arm and wrestled him to the floor. Sadly for us, then the straight red card for a professional foul had not been introduced, so all he got was a yellow; but he averted a one-on-one with Yekini and his goalie. I don't think Keshi is the one that will teach Oboabona that.
Oboabona or Omeruo?

Those other town u called have u been there?? If no den just rest ur case

Even the warri stadium as world class as it is has drainage problems and the standard hotels re very far from it and with the poor road network...(even tho roads dey) to me still doesn't qualify to host a game
Comprehension is really a problem in our society, for understanding sake, read through the OP again to see if i ever said anything about Calabar not fit to host. Before UJ Eusene, i guess the SE were playing in the moon.

some Nigerians and comprehension!

Na, you were not explaining, rather you were giving excuses for why UJ Eusene is being used even though its standard has dropped. you assumed others don't have some certain things/environment which to me sounds funny knowing fully well that most of the cities you mentioned are more developed than Calabar.

Anyways, it's your opinion sha.

SportsRe: Is UJ Esuene Stadium Calabar The Most Suitable Stadium We Have? by honeric01(mod): 1:47pm On Sep 07, 2014
SirChotas: I think it's about the fans. Home crowd. The turn out in Calabar has been consistently great. Far better than what we used to have at the National stadium in Abuja. There may be doubts about the spectatorship that would be found elsewhere. And then, our players have been known to complain about artificial pitches ( why I think they've ditched the Teslim Balogun stadium.)
UJ Eusene stadium has a capacity of 18,000 while Abuja National stadium is more than 40,000, what you think is "crowd" in Calabar is likely less than half of the number of people that come to watch matches in Abuja. you need 2.5x number of people in Calabar stadium to fill up what we have in Abuja.
SportsRe: Is UJ Esuene Stadium Calabar The Most Suitable Stadium We Have? by honeric01(mod): 1:44pm On Sep 07, 2014
ideyvexnow: Asking questions like this topic, is what is so wrong with many Nigerians. We like to only remember bad things and easily forget good things.

When the Super Eagles were winning their previous matches in Calabar, why didn't you ask questions like this.

Now that they lost only 1 match out of over 40 matches, you come now to criticize. You didn't even consider the fact that our football house is
not in order and that our coach is out of contract, volunteering to work without pay,and that all this brouhaha can psychologically affect both the coach and the Super eagles.
All you can focus on is criticism. Na wa for you oooo.

For me, failing 1 out of over forty exam questions will still give you 99% which is equivalent to an A score.
Comprehension! is the post about the performance of the SE? huh
SportsRe: Is UJ Esuene Stadium Calabar The Most Suitable Stadium We Have? by honeric01(mod): 1:41pm On Sep 07, 2014
Afam4eva: I have said it before that the Calabar stadium does not project our image as a country that well. Our main national team should be playing in a world class stadium. That notwithstanding, i wonder why this issue of stadium always comes up whenever we perform badly in a match. I remember how people condemned the choice of Kano as the venue of our Germany 2006 qualifiers against Angola just because we lost. If we had won convincingly, the choice of Kano would never have come up. People have alkso criticized the choice of the Abuja stadium is the past citing the fact that the fans are too bland and that the city is not fit to host the SE. No matter where it is taken to, people will complain as far we are not doing well. Let's just make sure we play in standard stadiums irrespective of the location.
Did you read the post well or you are posting before reading? i am not against the state hosting the super eagles but the standard of the stadium is dropping drastically and the state government or whoever is managing the stadium is not doing the image any good. the pitch is becoming a shadow of itself and no longer camera friendly. i hope you can spot my points now?
SportsRe: Is UJ Esuene Stadium Calabar The Most Suitable Stadium We Have? by honeric01(mod): 1:37pm On Sep 07, 2014
onuwaje: It's not about the stadium u knw... most tyms u have to consider things like airports, hotels(standard ones) and road network.. also u have to consider security/protocol/safety measures.. u av done well by voicing ur view but these other places u listed do they have
1.Airports?(not airstrip/or runway)
2.Standard hotels for foreign teams?(i mean standard)
3.good road networks( I guess not)
4.security/safety and protocol measures (I leave that. For the house to answer)

I believe calabar can offer most of those I guess

SportsIs UJ Esuene Stadium Calabar The Most Suitable Stadium We Have? by honeric01(mod): 10:54am On Sep 07, 2014
After yesterday's match, i kept asking myself if in the whole of 36 states of Nigeria (+ FTC), we can only showcase Africa and the world at large our national heritage, the Super Eagles in a stadium like UJ Esuene Calabar.

I checked other African countries that played their qualifiers, only 2 countries had horror pitch like we have in Calabar, Ghana and Sudan, the others looked so great, i thought they moved their game outside the shores of Africa, check out Gabon's stadium, Tunisia, Senegal, Zambia e.t.c, their pitches look great and nice to the eyes.

Why can't we move our games to a more suitable pitch anywhere in Nigeria? fine, UJ stadium was once a beauty to behold (Pitch wise) but as usual, once any Nigerian business/person/state/e.t.c begins to get great patronage, they start dropping standards, UJ Esuene stadium is becoming an insult to Nigeria and i think it's time we move the Super eagles out of that state until they wake up to do the needful.

I took out time to check on other stadiums in Nigeria and i was able to locate few stadiums that should be given chance to host the Super eagles.

Lagos
Abuja
Enugu
Kano
Kaduna
Kastina
Port Harcourt (Looks sick though)
Bauchi
Kogi

Though some of them are artificial pitches, but i don't mind seeing the SE play there than the rubbish pitch i saw yesterday even though Calabar is in a region that enjoys heavy rainfall and nice weather.

And once the one in Akwa Ibom is completed, our super eagles home games should be moved there until the National Stadium in Lagos and Abuja is revamped.

Attached are 4 stadiums (Side by side), compare them, Calabar (REAL), Lagos (ARTIFICIAL), Kano (REAL) and Enugu (ARTIFICIAL).

mikeansy: Sherriff as Governor of Bornu had a Boko Haram chief in his Government and there are claims he even paid monthly allocations to them until their relationship went sour. The Boko chief in his government died is suspicious circumstances and this perhap explains why Boko haram is on record to have demanded sherriffs head as a peace deal prerequisite.

Sherriff is Boko haram enemy at this moment but he was in the loop and knows one or two things about the organisstion.

It is correct to invite him for questioning to see if there is anything to learn from him.

I am also sure intelligence organisations are always in touch with Ihejirika for brainstorming and if they don't feel they don't need to invite him publicly for questioning there is nothing wrong with that! I am sure someone would have spoken to Ihejirika on the phone!

Nigeria is fighting Muslim extremism and jihad! I think the SSS or any security agency for that matter will be turned into a big joke if they believe a former christain COAS from the South East is sponsoring Jihad!

If there is undenyable evidence Ihejirika will be arrested! But you can't arrest the former head of the army because terrorist said so! We are trying to be a serious country here not some joke of an animal farm!
Lol, you actually think he is being probed because of this sermon you listed? did SSS just know this or you don't think it's because of what the Revd said?

mikeansy: Ihejirika has nothing to charge Dr Davis for

Dr Davis said Boko Haram told me so, Dr Davis did not say Ihejirika sponsors Boko Haram.

Ihejirika will be wasting his time taking him to court because what he was told is what he was told! How true what he was told is a debate for Boko Haram who I am sure will not appear in court!
Now answer me if you have any sincere blood in you, why is
Sheriff being probed by the SSS based on the same accusation
from the Rev Father leaving out Ihejerika?
