Politics / Re: Bianca Ojukwu Visits The Emir Of Kano (see Colorful Pictures) by honeyB2018: 9:31pm On Dec 17, 2023
ChinnysBlog:
Former Nigeria Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero during the UNA inaugural flight to Kano.
The former beauty Queen in her Facebook post shared colourful pictures from the visit.

‘A ROYAL VISIT TO KANO….’
It was an amazing experience, of grandeur and splendour when we were received and lavishly hosted by His Royal Highness, Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero at the Royal Palace as United Airlines launched it’s Maiden flight to Kano.
The Emir assured UNA of his continued support and requested for flights to link Kano, which had a huge population of Igbos, to the South East states.
He highlighted the long standing relationship between Kano and the South East, and stated that if a route is open between Kano and the South East, it would further boost economic development, not only in the region but in Kano as well.
The Chairman of United Nig. Airlines Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, assured that flights from Kano to the South East states will commence before the Christmas season to afford travelers faster ease of movement.

KUDOS TO OUR FRONTIER SPIRIT!
#Indestructible.

I love this visit to the Emir of Kano for some reasons.
(1) That magnificent palace, is so splendid.
(2) The Emir welcoming a woman from Igbo extraction, without subjecting her to dress like an Hausa or Muslim woman is a big plus to the Emir
(3) It shows we as Nigerians could really be one, without subjecting others to a second class citizen if we really want.
Kudos to the Emir and Mrs Bianca Ojokwu

You tried to sound like a Christian and one who knows the bible, but I'm so sorry to disappoint you and tell you that your are a novice in the bible.

Evangelism involves making of noise.
Check out all the places where evangelism is carried out, wether day or night there must be noise making.
Go to the North and tell them that the should control their religious noise making.

Hello nairalanders, please I need your advice on this. I work in a bank as a cleaner and I go on errands for bankers in the bank. Am 24 year old and I only have my school start with me. I have an ambition to further my education though.

So their is this lady banker I like so much. I do go on errands for her. She is in her youthful age too but might be a little older than I do. I love her but I don't know how to tell her. I fear she might cast me if I tell her my intentions or I might lose my self respect.

Moreover, I always feel lonely because I rarely socialize. I go on errands because of the tips I make from it. Nobody gives me money for not doing anything. I feel less cared for but I care more about my loved ones even though I only give to them. I feel lonely all the time cry

Please what should I do

I thought it was the other way round, following the caption.

Our mosque was closed up when someone (likely Christian) reported. It was reopened after some days.

The next thing that happened was that the outdoor speaker was removed and an indoor speaker installed.
The mosque is at Ishola street, Casino, Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos.

And there was another one, a central mosque at Fadeyi that had the same thing happen!

And I have reported some noise makers too that had been warned!

So its not a witch-hunting spree!
And its part of the work of Lagos state to curb pollution!

When Lagos State government said in the past that churches should not use their facilities for their religious services, did they do such to the Muslim organizations?
You may not understand what is going on. Closing down the mosques, is just a smokescreen which you may not understand.

Noise is not actually part of the Muslim and Christian dogma!

Islam

Christianity

And Jesus, whenever he wants to pray, us. ually goes to lonely places like mountains!

Look, it's not the Muslims that Lagos State government is after, It's the church. Including the Muslims in this case is just a smokescreen. Let it be know to you, that evangelism is associated with noise making to attract attention. This is not only in Lagos State. Can the governor of Kano State or any of the Northern States talk about this nonsense that the Lagos State government is talking about?
Which state in Nigeria is talking about noise pollution? Very soon, it will affect morning cry, vigils and other christian gathering. Very soon, the officials will start going from church to church to monitor speakers. This is targeted against the church, More especially, the evangelicals and pentecostals
I completely oppose and stand against it.
Lagos State should take governance to the interiors of the state, not noise making. We're in the dry season now, some roads are motorable, but during the rains, lots of places here, will be quiet unreachable, you see abandoned road projects scattered all over the places, uncompleted, this should be the priority of the state, not noise making. Agberoism has become a big factory here, nothing is done to control them and their menace and you're talking about noise pollution, indeed a misplaced priority.

I see this as a misplaced priority. Is noise pollution the major problem of Lagos State? If it's, let's start from the bus stops, not worship center.
This is another attempt by Lagos State government,to once again, interfere with the affairs of the church.
During the era of Fashola, it was about tax and tax collection, it was even then that this nonsense about noise pollution started.
Despite the humongous amount Lagos State government budgets yearly, the state remains poorly under governed, because right policies that have direct impact to the lives of the people are not followed, rather they keep on chasing shadows and not the substance.
Go close to the bus stops and see noise making first hand. Come to the suburbs, and see what generator noise is doing to households, you will marvel.
Provision of drinkable water is a mirage in many parts of the state, despite been close to where this water can be accessed.
Noise pollution Mr governor, is not Lagos State major problem.

When Tinubu was sworn in as the president of Nigeria, following his antecedents, I knew that the following will never remain the same.
(I) Party politics. Have you asked yourself, why in Lagos State, PDP has been always in a state of motion, but no action? Have you asked yourself why PDP chairmen have always ended up returning back to either AD, ACN or APC as the case maybe?.
(2) Judiciary. I'm not surprised at the pronouncements, coming out from the judiciary lately, considering what Tinubu said about power and politics as been GRAB IT, RUN IT mentality.
Under Tinubu as the governor of Lagos State, how many court injections, orders and judgements did he obey?
I remember clearly during the demolition of Boundary Market in Ajegunle. That matter was in court, and there was a restriction order, but what happened?
That market went down. So I'm not surprised. The opposition parties better get prepared. Before 2027 elections, there maybe nothing like Opposition parties again, if at all any remains, it will just be a shadow of itself. Can you imagine an active member of APC, been made an INEC commissioner, even when the tenure of the current one is yet to expire?
That's way it will be from now to 2027, the 2027 elections are over.

Properties / Re: Why Builders, Developers And Real Estate Agents In Lagos Are In Trouble by honeyB2018: 4:46pm On Nov 26, 2023
Sadwaste:
My friend who is a real estate developer in Lagos was complaining bitterly to me that business has been terrible. I told him it's a general problem affecting the whole country since Tinubu removed subsidy. But he said no, it was worse than that. He told me that Igbos used to be the bulk of their customers. They will send their staff to go to Igbo markets like Alaba, Trade Fair or Ladipo to canvas for investors. They're mostly the ones with cash to invest. But today, they've stopped.

These days there staff are sometimes chased away and threatened never to step foot inside their shops again. The man is from Edo state but is into real estate development in Lagos, Benin and P.H.

His situation prompted me to make further inquiries and what I discovered was quite startling. Something dangerous is happening in Lagos and people are not even aware. There is going to be a severe housing crises in the near future. A three bedroom flat will soon be going for 3 million annually and yet people will find it hard renting one. There is going to be proliferation of slums and shanties all over Lagos.

Anyone who is informed knows that what I'm saying here are facts. When people are no longer building houses. Government isn't either. And population keeps growing, then it will only result in proliferation of slums.

People in Lagos will soon find themselves spending all their income on paying rent. While most others who can't cope will end up in slums.

My friend is now focusing in Benin and P.H. while diversifying away from Lagos property development. Others who are proactive should brace up before it's too late.

Port- Harcourt and Warri, both in Niger Delta, used to be very busy, business wise before. Trans- Amadi Industrial area in P. H then used to be a place where lots of companies have their offices and it did offer employments to many Nigerians living in P. H.
In Warri, the Wharf and NPA quarters was very much busy also like PH.
Unfortunately, these two areas in these states, Rivers and Delta, have become a shadow of themselves, courtesy of Niger- Delta activism and hostile attitude towards non- Indigene investors.
Today, the sea ports are there, but no one is using them in Warri, Trans- Amadi Industrial area, still has those structures, but investors have taken a flight with their capital and those areas have become a shadow of themselves, while the Niger- Delta agitators, who saw those areas and their God given areas and we're hostile to non- indigenous investors, have abandoned their lands and are hustling for employment outside their God given land.
One bad aspect of life,is that people don't learn from history and the mistakes of others, till it hits them like thunder.
Watch the economy of Lagos State in the next 10-15yrs. I rest my case.

You should be asking about your state local government...

Crimes and criminalities, know no bound, tribe and colour. A thief in Lagos State, if he has the same opportunity elsewhere, will still display that attitude of criminality.
My post wasn't about tribe, but about the usage of the resources allocated to the local governments. I live, do my business, pay my dues here in Lagos State, not my State of Origin. During the census, I'm counted as a resident of Lagos State, not my State. Progress and and and lack of it in Lagos State, affects me, more than that of my state. Sometimes, it takes me up to 5yrs, before visiting my state of origin, while I spend more than 365 days here in Lagos, population is one of the factors considered in the allocation of funds to Lagos State and it's local governments, and mine is included.
So if I make comments about things here and the way things are done here and you are offended, I don't want to sound rude, but understand that I'm passionate and concern about the well being of the state. That's all I want to tell.

It did not start today. Nnamdi Azikiwe too in his days painted our leaders black and not a few believed him because of the liberal nature of the Yorubas.

In the last general elections, some mindless subhumans wanted us to discard with the political leadership of the SW and replace them with the failures from their ethnic group.

It almost succeeded but it will never be tolerated again in the SW.

To the issue at hand, the response is simple. If the LGAs ate not living to your expectations, kindly relocate to your state of origin. We believe our leaders may not have hit the expected level in governance but they are kilometers ahead of the kleptomaniac leadership that holds sways in a part of the country.

The other day, a failed governor commissioned streetlights. Then one installed Julius Berger signage and his people wept for joy. The same people were to jubilate with ecstasy when their 'performing' governor marked their capital city toads with yellow markings.

Therefore, I advice you to the political leadership of the SW for the people of SW.

I would have ignored you and your useless post, but doing so will amount to giving you a feeling that you have made a reasonable point, but in the real sense of it, it's a post of a chauvinist, who has failed to realize the point that he has failed.
In the first place,I will like you to understand, that as one who resides in Lagos State, pay my dues here, I have every right to make my comments about the way things go here without taking any permission from you and your cohorts.
Secondly, the money allocated to the local government where I dwell in Lagos State, my own personal allocation is there because population is used to calculate how much each local government gets. If I make any comments about the usage of the funds, slowpoke like you have no right to oppose me.
Thirdly, realize that Lagos State, not South West, is populated by non- Indigenes, therefore, non- Indigenes and not the people of the South West, drives the economy, therefore tribal bigots like you should hide your face and let the movers of the economy of Lagos State talk. For your information, know that Lagos State, is the only state in Nigeria, where the real indigenous people are less than 10% of it's population, to some extent, bigots like you may even be a stranger in Lagos State.
Fourthly, good governance and dividend of democracy, is the desire and expectation of good and law abiding citizens of any country and resident of any local government, if it's your desire that your appointed local government officials, should collect what belong to you and embezzle it, use it to better the lot of their families, while you wallow in pain and penury and die in the name defending your tribe and your embezzling officials without speaking out so be to you, after all, there's no road, market, filling station, rice, beans, cloth etc, that is made for any of the political party supporters, nor for any other tribe in any local government in Lagos State. All of us, do make use of the same facilities provided by the embezzling appointed officials.
So for their ineptitudeness and inability to correctly use the allocations for our wellbeing, we all suffer it together.
The present economic hardship, occasioned by the federal government and party you voted for in the name of my turn, hope it's biting only the supporters of those in the opposing parties? Yorubas are not feeling it?
Stupid ant. People like you should hide your face in shame. The other day, a Yoruba woman selling fish, was lamenting over the high cost of living in Nigeria and was calling the names of your political lord's in the state and South West. That Woman voted for a Yoruba man as president and governor. If it's was well with her, would she have come out openly to lament?
So many are their in their secret places, lamenting, and cannot speak, because of the castigation of bigots like.
All I want to tell you,is to continue in your stupidity of fighting for tribe and not for good governance. You will soon hit the street with placard for your stupidity.

Can you imagine that the majority is from Lagos State.
But where's the evidence of these humongous amount of money as allocation?
Come to Ojo, Amuwo Odofin, Apapa, Ajegunle, you can't see any sign that the collect this kind of money. Yet people will still want them to continue.
