Why is it that any opposing views to any write up by a Yoruba man, is always attributed to the IGBOS?
Does it mean that it's all Yorubas that are on the same page with what any Yoruba man says? I'm baffled at the rate of hatred for the IGBOS by thesd Yoruba people.
Check out the response to this post, any contrary view is always believed to have come from an Igboman, when it's not true.
Hatred and sentiments can't take you to anywhere, instead it further divides the would be unity between the two tribes. That's why the Hausa-Fulanis are having hay days in the politics of Nigeria.
Yes, OGD, may have gate crashed, but he's one of the leaders in Ogun State,by extension, Yoruba land. A space would have been created for him, just to show politics without bitterness. All of you, are craving for the recognition of Tinubu, but if the table turns against him tomorrow, will you all still struggle to have his ears?
This is not what is wanted now. There should be no permanent enemies, rather intrest in politics.

Your post have clearly shown how deficient your reasoning faculty is, if you think it's only and your Yoruba people that knows what respect is.
I have never in my life, seen a tribe so insulting and full of innuendos like you and your people. It's what people came into Lagos State to see about the Yorubas, that they live with. I don't want to repeat some of the things you say here.
Respect is reciprocal. You don't abuse your visitors in the name that you are their host and expect them to keep quiet. Yorubas are visitors in other places too.
I think I will be wrong,if I give a general classification of all Yorubas as been like you. I have live, worked and dined with lots of Yorubas and I know, that there are some Yorubas that have bright minds and reasonable, the real Omoluabis. For them, they have shown respect and must be respected and for them,I withold my peace
You don't demand respect, you earn it. If you do anything worth respecting, you will get it but otherwise, you will get it wotowoto.
For the fact that you are going everywhere, demanding that IGBOS respect you, kindly do a cross check. You have missed it big time.
Like I said earlier, for the real Omoluabis. I hold my peace.

The guy is calling for an overhaul of the system in Anambra before people relocate their businesses to the state. Open defecation he spoke about is rampant in Lagos State, get to Mile 2, Lagos Island and other places in Lagos, it's there. But generally, he wants things properly arranged, infrastructures provided, security provided before the governor can think of mobilizing people to relocate.
He talked about Agbero and multiple taxations, that are also rampant in Lagos as some of the things, to be looked into.
It's not more than a cry for better governance which all and sundry want anywhere.

Politics / Re: “Jimi Chukwuemeka”. Throwback Picture Of APC Associating Jimi Agbaje With Igbos. by honeyB2018: 11:57am On Jun 26, 2023
Throwback:

Yes!

Jimi Agbaje also embraced blanket support from the Igbos who have been obsessed for many years with an Igbo agenda to decide who governs in Lagos State.

Funny enough, it is the same PDP that Igbos have now rejected, that they wanted to foist on Lagos State.

Infact, the Igbos proudly boasted of it like it was a disease they were going to afflict Lagos with just for the fun of it. They were eventually disgraced as always.

Igbos on this forum never hid their desire then that they (Igbos) will decide who governs in Lagos and not the Yorubas.

So Agbaje was rightly classified as the Igbo candidate for the Lagos Governorship.

The question is, why are Igbos obsessed with determining who governs in Lagos?

Other non-Yoruba tribes resident in Lagos do not harbour this same obsession.

Your post makes no sense to what GRV is saying.
I want you to know, that every Nigerian, wether Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani Efik etc, is guaranteed by the constitution, the right to live anywhere of their choice peacefully, vote and be voted for. Therefore they IGBOS anywhere they are have the right to vote and be voted for, wherever they reside, as long as it is done in a peaceful and lawful manner.
But the issue here is tagging any candidate from any Party aside the ruling party in Lagos State, an Igbo candidate, to be able to win that election
It didn't only work in the last two elections, it happened against the gubernatorial aspiration of Dapo Sarumi in his hay days in politics
This is a dangerous political weapon, to stigmatize and humiliate both the candidate and the Igbo nation in Lagos State.
Ambition is something that is related to everyone. People are free to have ambition, based on the side that favours them. The IGBOS, both as individuals or as a people, haven't committed any crime in having any political aspiration or ambition in a place, where they have contributed to it's development in a humongous way.
They commit no crime in having aspirations or ambition in a place that have become their second home, where they pay their taxes, rents and dues. They have no crime, expressing their ambition, aspirations in a place where the grand norm of Nigeria, the constitution have guaranteed their rights and aspirations
I see no crime any Igboman have committed in having ambition in a place where some have spent over 75% of their life time, if truly they are Nigerians, except you are telling me they're not.
Giving their own sons,Igbo tag, to rob or deny them the sense of right belonging, to me is bad politics. It's worst than any terminal illness.
Today, Jimi Chukwuemeka Chinyere has gone back to APC, no one in APC is raising any doubt about his true indigeneship again. No one is accusing Dapo Sarumi of being Igboman or candidate after the election. It could be the turn of GVR tomorrow. If he decides to align himself politically with the high and mighty in the mainstream Yoruba politics and party, no one will remember his mother and wife are of Igbo extraction.
This is a dangerous form of politics
My concern in Lagos State,is about the real indigenous people of Lagos State, the Aworis and the rest, that have refused to stand tall to reclaim what belongs to them. They have elected to be docile, adopting a sit - don- look attitude. Otherwise how can someone come all the way from other parts of Yoruba land, to be governor, speaker, senator in Lagos State, when there's no kind of reciprocity of that magnitude extended to real Lagosians in those states. Your family ancestral linage, cannot be linked to any family in Lagos, You can never be an Oba in Lagos State, yet you want to exercise authority over Lagosians because you are a Yoruba man, this is quite absurd. This is my worry, not what one Obasa from Ogun State is talking. Imagine Hamzat Obafemi,a prince from Ogun State, been a deputy governor here, and no one from indigenous people of Lagos State can be that anywhere in the South West.
So it's that right you have as a non - indigene in Lagos State, that every Igboman and other Nigeria have also in Lagos State.
As to why other tribes in Lagos State, don't express their views about politics here, I think they will be in the best position to answer your question with regards to that.

Tinubu always play the long game.

He is somehow lucky. The IGP is his personal person and the NSA is also very close to him. Their loyalty is 100%.

Buhari had one issue where he worked with people that he doesn’t have that much closeness with and just people recommended to him. That affected him because some of his appointee are grossly disloyal and did whatever they like at the detriment of the General.

That NSA for Ribadu is also very strategic. Ribadu is a trusted ally, someone like that will be trustworthy and loyal such that he will most likely tell the president the right state of security affairs. These are people Tinubu can trust with his eyes closed.

But ACN leaderssold him out in 2011, when he contested to be president under ACN. While he was campaigning for the post, ACN leaders made a secret deal with Jonathan, while ACN won all the state assembly, National Assembly and governorship elections in the South West and lost all but Osun State in the presidential election.
Please someone should get the tape of what Nuhu Ribadu said about Tinubu, when he came to the National Assembly as the then EFCC chairman under Obj as the president of Nigeria then, to give a report about his findings about the governors then.
Honestly, this life no balance at all. As Nigerians, we must learn how not to kill ourselves for these politicians.

Politics / Re: 7 Bad Omens That Preceded The Alaba Demolition Signaling A Yoruba Vendetta by honeyB2018: 12:54pm On Jun 19, 2023
AlexBells:
I'm fully in support of Igbos gradually reducing their investment in Lagos and take precautionary measures on acquiring non Movable properties.

Now to the issue at hand, while understanding that Lagos state government have every right to demolish distressed building as was said, the lead up and timing is suspicious. You can argue that a state can do whatever they wished without caring what anyone feels however perception is very important in governance.

Here in Enugu the governor tried to stop the sit at home head on earlier on but the people didn't pay attention to him becuase the people felt that was a wrong timing, he should first fix the potholes, becuase there's still a cold war so far Nnamdi Kanu is incarceration and creating another war is uncalled for.

Coming to the case of Lagos state, Igbos have that justification to feel targeted given the events of the past 3 months. 1. Tinubu losing in Lagos, 2. Sanwolu having a tough time winning in Lagos 3. The statement by the Lagos state house of assembly members threatening to make anti non indigenous laws. 4. The No Man's land saga 6. The increased rhetoric between Yorubas and Igbos and 7. The targeting and harassment of Igbos during the election.

All these are Omens that have transformed a government decision into a vendetta. Who am I to advice the government that the timing was wrong and that it could have been better to give the Demolition at least six months, since the people in the business district are mainly Igbos, if the buildings collapsed on them fair enough.

These sort of morale lowering event is coming at a time when economic hardship is unfolding in the country, I don't know who will laugh last but Lagos state is being a little impatient and while those buildings were marked since 2016. The timing is suspicious.

Couple of months ago, Alaba Arago, was marked for demolition and 14 days quit notice was given, till date, nothing has been done to that,it was swept under the political carpet.
The atrocities that are committed in Alaba Arago, if it's done in Alaba International market, Alaba International, would have been demolished long ago.
Well whatever happens, whatever has a beginning, will also have and end. It may be that in the end, the demolition will turn around to favor the IGBOS.
Let's watch and see.
Politics / Re: Imagine Operation Araba Succeeded by honeyB2018: 12:47pm On Jun 19, 2023
AntiMarxist:
Operation Araba was the major motive by the Murtala led mutineers composed mainly of northern officers.

The mutineers wanted to avenge on behalf of the north on the Ironsi Igbo led dictatorship that had supplanted itself following the Jan 15 coup.

Their main agenda was to leave Nigeria .

This was opposed by the northern Christian officers who were rightly weary of being overwhelmed in a future Arewa Islamic state.

Gowon prevailed on Murtala and told him there was no money in the north to support an independent northern Nigerian state. The icing that made Murtala rescind his seccesionist bid was when Gowon told Murtala and his co mutineers that it will be better if the north remains in the new centrist Nigeria fashioned by the Igbo coupists as there was now a bright future with the discovery of oil in the Niger Delta.

Now ,imagine if Murtala and his co northern officers had gone ahead with Operation Araba .

For one, there was a political vacuum in both the current SW and SS owing to the execution of their leaders by the Igbo coupists in 1966. Awolowo was serving a prison sentence for treason and the Yoruba nation was in total dissaray following both the lack of leadership and almost zero presence in the new military setup.

The Yorubas were mute through these turbulent times because there was no way they could challenge either the Igbo dictatorship or the Northern one that succeeded it.

With a scenario that Murtala left with the north, I can bet Ojukwu would have rolled over both the Midwest and western region and southern Nigeria would have been a totally different place with Igbos ruling over the SW and SS people.

The Igbos planned for that coup decades prior as they were silently enlisting in the Military and Zik was packing the officer cadre with his Zikist students .

The north found out very late in 1959 about this lopsided domination of the military by the Igbo and the Sarduna began recruiting young secondary school students in the north to enlist into the military college.

The likes of IBB and Abacha were inspired by Sarduna visiting their schools with a young sharp looking Gowon in his smart officer suit.

While the north was playing catch up with the Igbo , the SW and SS people were oblivious on the future shift in our political landscape from that of an intelligenstia led democratic leadership to brute military rule .

This is one reason why I believe that the unfortunate Jan 15 coup was no accident but the outcome of a long standing ambition by the Igbo Marxist to infiltrate the military and seize power from there on.

In summary, if not for Gowon ,the Igbo would have entrenched themselves as rulers above their betters in both the SS and SW.

Thank God, Gowon intervened.

Can you also notice the porosity of your write up?

Whether he/she is from owo in ondo, remo in ogun state, ede In osun state or anywhere in the south west and bares a yoruba name the person is free to claim Lagos if him/her want to.

It always funny when people says tinubu is from irabiji and not Lagos especially my brothers from the south east .....tinubu is a yoruba man and you can never see a yoruba person saying that rubbish you people cry about all the time.

Only a yoruba man can be a governor in lagos state and he can come from anywhere in the south west....we don't care once he is yoruba.

It gross ignorance when you people try to always push the narrative of tinubu should go back to iragiji BS cause I don't understand what the complain for.

Have we the yorubas ever complained about where he comes from ??

Why are igbos so much interested in what goes on in the south west than your states.

Some of you don't even know who are running in your state but day and nights you so engrossed in what happens in south west.

You people are already crying about osun state tribunal out come.....how does that concern you igbos.

Pls face your region and leave the south west alone...it becoming irritating how you people don't even talk about your leaders but everytime it all about what going on in yoruba land.

The hausa and other tribes don't do that thing but only you igbos.

It is gross stupidity when a non yoruba says tinubu is from iragiji and not lagos cause any yoruba man can walk into any local government in lagos and get a state origin certificate but a igbo or hausa man can't do that....so that wailing about tinubu iragiji hogwash needs to stop.

Once again yorubas from any south west state are first class resident in lagos and are free to become a lagosian if they want but no other tribe can do that.

Can any Yoruba man from any Yoruba state, become a traditional ruler in Lagos State?
Is your explanation better than the constitution of Nigeria?
Can you see your fible mind how low it's?
Can any Lagosian, go to any part of Yoruba land and contest election, even as a counsillor?

When people said the Igbos approached the 2023 elections with bigotry and bitterness, I defended them because I have a few of them as friends. What I have seen since last night by Igbo influencers is bigotry and bitterness.

There is no airline, Global and Local company that has not had cause to delay flights because of Technical glitches. From Emirates to Air France.

It is sad that the Igbos have subtly decided to attempt to demarket Ibom Air owned by a neighboring Akwa Ibom in a bid to promote an airline owned by one of them.

Today, Igbos are the second highest employees of Ibom Air, after Akwa Ibom indigenes. Ibom Air is owned by a State where over one hundred thousand Igbos are living peaceably and doing business without any form of attacks. The Igbos have businesses in Akwa Ibom and never has any conspire to demarket them. Tell me one single time Akwa Ibom people have shown hated against the Igbos?

For the records, Ibom Air is on the only Nigerian Airline listed in the top 10 airlines in Africa by the globally recognized Business Insider. Ibom Air was Leadership Company of the year and in only four years of commercial operations, Ibom Air is rated as one of the most successful airlines in the country.

Ibom Air has, as part of its assets, 10 A220 aircraft valued at one Hundred Billion Naira, and home Company to West Africa's only MRO facility. This is not a kind of investment you instigate hatred against.

I call on proud sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom to rise and defend our own brand.

Akwa Abasi Akwa Ibom Aya diong Ibom Air. Yak Ekikere mmĂ© idiok Owo ade ntak ntak. AmĂȘn

You just want to create enmity where there's none. The opinion of one man cannot be used to discredit a whole tribe. If you have an issue with the said man, it's a business between him and IbomAir. It happens always. The other time, it was between Air peace and the Emir of Kano, it was a business trip, I believe they have settled now, the tribe IGBO wasn't brought into it.
The IGBOS and the people of Cross River and Akwa- Ibom, have been having cordial relationship, without any bickerings, they have intermarriage and done businesses together, there are lots of IGBOS that have married from the two states and I'm one. Lots of Ibomites are doing good businesses in Igboland, IGBOS as well are in the two states.
Don't start a campaign you cannot finish. You will regret it.

Now this is the kind of issues that generates trouble. Between the post and the bill signed into law, what connection has it got to do with South East?
Tomorrow, somebody will say IGBOS hate Yoruba, why don't you make your comment without mentioning the IGBOS in it?
May be an Igboman impregnated any of your sisters and ran away.
Stop your hatred for this God blessed tribe. You cannot curse whom God has blessed. Never

I still believe there are few people in the south east who have "the intelligence genes" in their DNA; I am only supprise as to why they allowed to be represented at large by low thinkers who cannot differentiate their left from right.

Has the Yoruba and the Fulani stop Anambra State from building the international Airport?

You people need to wake up from your dream state and start taking responsibility for your future. Start telling your governors to do the right things.

May be you should start excusing the word "Yoruba" from your rhetorics. Because it's irritating.

Thanks for your matured response. Your thought is a two way thought.
As you have the low thinker amongst the IGBOS, which I sincerely believe, following their response and comments on issues, the same is applicable to your people the Yorubas. Infact sometimes, I get so annoyed with comments from the Yoruba commentators, that I question the rational behind creating social media platforms, because without it, some of these people wouldn't have gotten the chance for it.
Imagine issues that has no correlation with anything Igbo,IGBOS will be brought it, not for any good reasoning, but to cast aspersions on the integrity and personalty of Igboman.
Like you said, may be the Yoruba commentators, should as well learn and ensure that the word IGBO is removed completely from their thoughts since it irritates from their comments.
If you read my post and avoid it, there's no how we will have an issue, but when you do and innuendos are released, it marks the beginning of contest.

Mr Igbo come and tell your misguided descendants where your land begins and ends o!

They are in Okigwe, Awka, Ohambele and claiming other peoples territories as Igboland.

A Bonny guy just told me few minutes ago “What concerns someone from Awka with Bonny?”

People are now seeing clearly that the Fulani that these Igbo people keep demonising every day and night are learners compared to their greedy inclinations and tendencies to steal lands that do not belong to them.

You are too old for the stupidity you are displaying here. Where in the post, did the poster claim anywhere unjustly as Igbo land?
In case you don't understand, he was only telling you of the nearness of the rivers in Igbo land mentioned, to the Atlantic ocean, therefore we demand that any of those rivers be developed in Igboland for the use of the people and Nigerians at large.
Take time, about your hatred for the IGBOS, otherwise you will die for nothing. Don't hate a tribe that doesn't even know wether you exist or not

Even at that, I think it's for commercial purposes, I supposed.
But my concern here is that, people from this part of South West, where this acres of land are found, will be in Lagos State, asking people to leave Yoruba land, Incase you manage to buy the land, they will want to tell you, you are taking over Yoruba land. They have sons and daughters, who are rich that can develop this place, they have left it undeveloped.
To the non- Indigenes, especially the IGBOS, don't invest your dime here.Once beaten twice shies
One of the Northern governors, asked the IGBOS in his state to vote for him, promising to give them land for development. We have told our people never to succumb to such a trick. It will boomerang in the near future.

I know some South Eastern senators voted for Yari despite being a Muslim . Yet we Christians complain of marginalisation .

Don't all the issue of South East, kill you and your family. You may never be alive to see the good that will come out of the land of South East if your hatred for the South East continues. Every enemy of the Igboland, will under 6th see the glory of the land of the rising sun. Mark my words
