We will see with the transfer acquisitions this off season. I have to say i side with Amaka on this one for this season. The only person in the team that can play in a single pivot as CDM is Matic and he is as old as Methuselah and can't play week in week out. Neither McTom or Fred can do it solo consistently and one can't really blame them as it was not part of their football education and development.

To me I really don't have any deep-seated issue with Ole,except his inability to do the simple things correctly.
That is what has derailed him thus far.

In reality,there's no guarantee that if you sign Mbappe Halaand etc for him,he won't misuse them; either by playing them out of position or generally neglecting them on the bench.

Somehow Pogba and Ravel weren't that lucky,though both had extenuating circumstances: Pogba his agent and Ravel his indiscipline. Almost nobody remembers Lingard as essentially the sole survivor of that era (2012, if I recollect)

I saw parts of that season that he,Lingard and Ravel Morrison starred together when they won the Youth FA Cup.

No vex. I just tire for our fans ni. I remember when people were saying we must buy Pogba to spit in the face of Madrid and we warned them that our midfield needed more than just that. Imagine all the years of prime Pogba that were subsequently wasted because of poor team structure.

Spending the whole transfer budget on Harry Kane when McFred and Magelof are in defense would be sheer madness. You should build your own team smartly not buy players to stop them going to other clubs the way we did with Pogba, Fred, Alexis e.t.c

We had the 2nd best attack in the top 4 but the worst defense in the top 4. We averaged the lowest possession stats and lowest passing accuracy in the Top 4 as well. This team has quasi-existential threats in the form of technically limited midfielders and physically limited CBs and they won't us to spend (waste) the transfer money on a position which is probably our strongest.

Kane can move to Chelshit or City and win the title does not mean he would win us the title. Those teams are very weak at CF. We are very weak at CDM and CB. They need a CF to progress but we need CDM and/or CB to progress.

Everything you wrote up there is accurate.
It's more to do with penny-pinching and reducing expectations by the owners who are satisfied with the status quo.

I feel that the guys who do the scouting/player recommendations for us need to be changed. It's hard to understand how weve been botching and bungling transfers for very sensitive areas in the team as you have highlighted for nearly 10 years. We have focused more on high-profile,celebrity signings rather than those that will actually improve the team for good.The ones we seem to get correct don't seem to be planned,but rather appear so out of happenstance or good fortune.

If It was me, I wouldn't sign Kane with what basically is all of our transfer budget. He doesn't represent a one-stop fix for all our problems. He also is ageing and usually has ankle problems mid-season. I wonder why pundits claim we need a center forward and insist on someone like Kane. Not doubting his ability,but he alone isn't the solution to our problems.

Like you said there's more pressing areas that need urgent attention. Also for me,our bench depth is lacking enormous quality.

I feel we won't have this luxury to coast to second next season when there's added pressure of the crowds as well as rivals making up for their wierd outing this year.

Man City has a complete team with practically 2 players for each position except CF where they need a first choice. Chelshit also has a very obvious weakness at CF but are okay elsewhere. Man Utd has McFred in midfield and Magelof in defence and they want us to blow the whole budget on Harry Kane.

The needs of Man City, Chelshit, and Man Utd are different. If the Glazers are going to spend 300m-400m and buy a RW, CMs, CBs as well as Harry Kane fine. If not he can go and win his titles at Man City cos he won't win them here with Magelof and McFred. This thing is not rocket science.
