RomanceRe: Love by HotFunmi1(op): 6:53pm On Feb 20, 2008
By naja Haje,
For the life of me i can't remember where in the bible but there is this bit that says your body is the temple of the living God and you should not misuse it or something like that.
The bible was making a reference to fornication.
RomanceRe: Love by HotFunmi1(op): 6:52pm On Feb 20, 2008
It is not clearly written that it is a sin but anything that defiles your body (the temple of the holy Ghost) such as smoking is a sin. I certainly would not want this to turn into a religious discussion but permit me just this post:

The wages of sin is death (Romans 6: 23) . . . does that mean God does not love the sinner? Unfortunately the only way the blood of Christ shed on the cross avails for the sinner is only if he/she repents of sin . . John 3:16.
Its just that simple . . . you sometimes don't need the bible to put things in plain english for u before u begin to connect the dots to understand what it says.

Back to the topic . . . even moralists and atheists think smoking is wrong . . .
My question remains the same, if you see what soda does to your body or what sodium do to your blood pressure, you may think twice before taking them. lack of exercise is another major killer but it's not classified as a sin or are they all sins? ain't we defining these things more than God that created them?

What about sexual habits like cunnilingus and MouthAction b/w married couples  that can infect the giver with yorimus carinii(lol), are they also sinful since it may be abusing the body? Do you know that the female honey pot is meant to be acidic for it to be healthy? If there is any change in the body and it ever becomes neutral, it will become a lethal recipe.
RomanceRe: Love by HotFunmi1(op): 6:44pm On Feb 20, 2008
By Naja haje,
Smoking is not a sin.

What it does to your body is disrespect to its creator. It is an insult to have disregard for the beauty of His work. A smoker is basically taking the p*ss with their body.
Same goes for GMF, soda, sodium we consume everyday. I am tired of so many Nigerian christians that translate the bible from their own perspective. Some will swear by their God in heaven that drinking alcohol constitutes a sin when the bible clearly states that it's only sinful when you abuse it. And, where in the bible did the body disrespect come in? that means that those that rarely wash themselves because they can't afford water or soap or toothpaste are offending God?

By Dejiman,
It's such a shame.
I can't believe the level at which we still have Star Illiterate. He as been traveling all around the world please let us ask him how many times he has been sprayed? and even besides that He only belives on what he is going to chop on peoples money. He is not looking at the future. He doesn't know they spend lots of money creating the naira notes, which the effects bounce back on the poor nigerians.
Well as for me The should enforce the law. And Nigerians should start living right. Enough is Enough
To be frank, the Nigerians here spray them with money although you cannot compare it with how much they get sprayed in Naija, besides, most of those guys that spray them are credit card fraudstars and now the feds are chasing them around, they don't usually do it again. KWAM1 is the number one beneficiary from these crooks.
RomanceRe: Love by HotFunmi1(op): 6:34pm On Feb 20, 2008
By 4Him,
Dont misquote the bible . . . Love covereth all sins only in the event that the sinner recognises his sins and is repentant.

In that regard . . . no amount of love will make me marry a smoker.
Is smoking a sin? and I didn't see where the bible wrote the only in the event part. Don't add your common sense to the bible abeg.
RomanceRe: Another Minute With Nigerian Men! by HotFunmi1(op): 6:28pm On Feb 20, 2008
My sister,if underwear washing was the problem with our Naija men then we have no problem.
You and I live here in America and I'm sure you must know or are friends with some divorced ladies.

The stories would make a single lady swear off Nigerian men.

Shall we start with the cab drivers married to women that eventually become nurses and inferiority complex sets in
or the "business men" that don't bring in shishi from year to year and the wife is slaving away at 3 jobs.
OR the ones that'll accuse their wives of cheating while they themselves are running around with little girls.

But come to all this kporakpo gatherings, these men are the loudest and would insist on being identified by their village titles.
The glitter on their chains and the the smell of their colognes can be perceived from across the hall.
And when you see some of them with their wives in the customary "uniforms".you'll be wondering what possesed such a beautiful elegant woman to marry such an uncooked man but suddenly you remember that his only qualification was living in America

Of course I'm not describing all Nigerian men in America but there are many of them that are a big disgrace and their families back home have no clue
that the mansion built in Mbano was from the wife's sweat and suffering.
Of course they'll never disclose that the wife is the one really working.
some of our men here need a real kick in the groins
On the issue of nurses in America, I may disagree here because in as much as they claim they make big money, they may not be making more than their cab driver husbands. We women have a big mouth especially when we contribute to household expenditure. I know what I make right now as a pharmacist and there is no much difference with what I made as a truck driver. So, If my husband is driving a truck in America, one can easily conclude that I am the chief bread winner because of my profession and you know that nurses make way less than pharmacists here. A nurse that works 16hr/day x 6 days/wk may end up making 100-120K/PA (MAX)and face IRS with their arm and leg taxes. A cab driver that works at the same rate will not make less either.

A friend of mine who's a physician told me that her husband is a car sales man and makes more than twice her salary( he makes about 350K/PA) while my friend make about 130K/PA. So, you see.

I am against those men that stay home doing nothing while expecting their wives to labour around to feed them and some even go ahead to use the money she makes on their secret wives in Nigeria. But, America has dignity in labour unlike Nigeria and we women shouldn't be biting our husband's or boyfriends because they are not nurses or doctors even if we make more than them. I know a relation here that went to nursing school on her fiancees bank account, she never worked for a day, graduated and got married to him. After a while, she's all over him calling him names and now they are divorced. She took their kids away and threatened to throw him in jail if he miss a single child support. I may be a defender of women, womanist etc but acts like that from a relation is way off the hook. If we clamour for our Naija men to respect and nurture us, we should also give something back. Don't use people to get to where you are because you'll pay for it someday. I know my cousin will one day face the music.

By Germine,
If the partner claims to love you and dosnt love him/herself someone smoking surely dosnt love him/herself
@bold, depends on your ideology. Personally, I neither smoke nor drink and am yet to have any association with those that do but, smokers will be quick to label you a hypocrite when you condemn them for smoking while carrying a can of soda or coffee or a wrap of junk sandwich. Many things are dangerous to health my dear, even love itself because it leads to heartbreak and heartbreak is the number one cause of depression in women. GMF are as dangerous as ciggy's and we eat them out here everyday. The tobacco stench gives me sleeze balls tho.

Babe you See where we get it difficult to handle this stuff with our own sister, they deviate it from it normal route to an authoritative command zone.
If I would do that washing of the almighty undies it will be definitely when am running the washing machine not exclusively.

this your under wears washing has a deferent undertune, it sounds authoritative and in that case you're inviting my opposition stand.
Funmi shakes head, Nigerian men and their ego! How did you decipher my undertone? I think what you are feeling is your greatest fear: "women always want to command us".

hotfunmi,
as long as madam has no objections about washing my undies, whats the fuss?

moreover, it would seem there are no washing machines in maryland(abi na maryland for lagos?). . .which is why you seem to take this whole business of
' washing your significant other's pant ' so seriously.
Even maryland lagos also have washing machines, so? And why must madam first agree to wash yours before you do hers? can't you surprise your woman?

By OzimaTv,

I think this is the time I should surface who I'm.
In the terms of domestic works, a whitewoman knows that it's the duty of both to cook, wash, clean and take care of the babies.
While our sisters claimed that it's the job made only for them (women) since the culture saids so
. .
Sisters don't claim it's a job meant for them alone, it's naija men that make it look like they cannot boil even hot water. Ask how many of them living in Nigeria when they cooked or cleaned last. The woman does the same job they do outseide the home these days, sometimes more, goes to agboju after work, cooks, feeds the kids, read lullaby to them and after that, he'll want some reciprocating in the bed at night. Where will the woman get the energy for reciprocating? is she a beast of burden?

Thank you for being a quintessential Nigerian male, I hope men like OYB will be humble enough to adopt your style. We want our men to see washing our undies as a normal routine.

By Blacklion,
come lagos, make ah show you big girls working for mtn and zenith bank who are third wives today. from there, make we go abuja, make ah show you lawyers and perm secs who are 3rd wives today

the fact is that women do not all reason the same way - just like men. there will always be women prepared to share men while the nwandos and michelins see it as an abomination. every woman's situation is different and she will respond to such issues based on her situation

e.g. the marriage options available to a 35 year old naija woman doctor in naija are not the same as she would have in the us. in america, she is an extremely hot cake just for being a doctor alone and dozens of naija guys will be begging for hand in marriage. even nurse and pharmacist sef, them dey beg them for marriage talk less of a whole doctor. but in naija, 35 year old female doctors are 2 for ten kobo. come to LUTH or UCH and you will see them plenty. so the one that is in naija's options will be more limited and she then considers being a second or third wife.

as for my personal take on polygamy? you women una wahala too much! one woman's wahala is more than enough for me for a lifetime!!!

but i respect the right of those men and women who feel they can cope with polygamy to do so as long no one is conned or forced into it
These women are desperate to attach a man's last name to theirs because the Nigerian society still frowns at women that are not married. So, it'll take some time for Naija women to understand that they don't have to be married inorder to be happy or pursue their career. Marriage is not a necessity, rather, it's a luxury and a damn expensive one at that.

like Simibrazil pointed out when she was here, make all of them practice menage a trois, or menage a million, for inside bedroom.

ie no need for sex by appointment. Just have the frigging sex at the same time, with all the wives "working" on the husband.
And the 'menage a billion' will soon turn to 'menage a heart attack' one day for you.

By 4Him,
It also works both ways . . . most of the nigerian women who claim to want to "know" . . . who claim to be concerned that nigerian men are more willing to slave for foreign girls are simply two-faced. Many would drop their pants for a white boy in a flash . . . however since they know they can't get that chance (no thanks to their low self esteem . . . cloaked by pretended aggression) . . . they hate on others with foreign partners. the only difference between a white girl and a naija girl is simply the color of their skin, sometimes the white girls tend to be even more desperate to make u happy. The nigerian chic on the other hand . . . God help us!
Imagine! which low self esteem busta? You think oyibo men and AA's don't hit on us?  I suggest you beware of those 'desperate' white women because if they are all that, they won't be desperate at all. You Naija guys sure do have a very big mouth; Y'all believe you are priceless and an icon akin to P Diddy or Mike Jordan.

I believe that at least some of u here have Nigerian dads and I don't think You see them in this light. I am still waiting to see a thread that somehow praises the African men. Mara of fact the only praise that the African man gets comes from even the unliklely quarters ( Foreign women). We just have to learn how to appreciate our own. If we don't , who will.
How do you expect 'praise' from Naija women when all you do is put them down and say their arse is smelly?
