Effie advising Diana not to Bleep Tariq is suspicious though. I can almost bet that she'll Bleep him without thinking twice. Anyway, the movie has succeeded in painting her as lesbian.

She and tariq slept together in season 1 and she felt heartbroken when tariq didn't show up the following day and left Stanfield for her school.
Go and watch the season one all over again.

It was at Stanfield in the season 1 of power book 2. He did it before the GTG member attacked him at the swimming pool complex. He had already told Effie he would come back to her but couldn't after the attack which resulted in Effie breaking up with him.

Facts! Tariq also has an alibi for the night jabari was killed. So Tariq could argue that he's being framed. The credibility of his alibi depends on his grandmother as you've said, but with the kind of person that grandmother is I don't think she will allow Tariq go to jail over their little misunderstanding about Yas' custody.
At the end of the day, Brayden might be tempted to give up cane and all the heists they've pulled together, brayden is not a snitch so I don't think he will give that up. He might not have to do any of that because of his parent's influence though

The grandmother could give up tariq because taking yaz away from her will stop her from benefiting from yaz trust fund. Remember when tariq was told by their family attorney that she is using yaz money to buy alcohol. So she will do everything to protect her interest including giving tariq up.

The only way tariq could get out of this is if Brayden open up to him about his little adventures with cane which I highly doubt cos he already knew he wasn't suppose to roll with cane. Remember he doesn't tell tariq about canes frequent visit.
While Lauren could help out by telling him about the cops plan to search all the dormitory which will prompt him to do away with any drugs in their room thereby finding Ramirez badge. And if he get to see in the news that Ramirez body has been discovered then he will know cane is unto him.

Cane does not know if Tariq goes down, he goes down too. In fact the Tejada family business too.

If I were Tariq, the cops rope me with murder..... I start spitting. I will be better than the world best snitch because I won't leave any detail out.

I'm not about to pay for Cane's foolishness, remember he shot Professor Reynolds first, Tariq concluded the job.

Things would have been different if Cane didn't show up. Cane thinks with his gun not his brain.

That is why I feel Cane's move was a bad one.

Cane has nothing to lose, he is a soldier and was ready to run away and give it all up if not Mecca who suggested he should make someone else to take the fall.

Tariq has a lot to lose than cane. Remember he is a Connecticut student so he could graduate on time and get is inheritance unlike cane who doesn't have one. And if tariq is caught he get to face the death penalty.

Everyone knows cane in season doesn't make the best of decisions but right now he is making moves I expect tariq to be doing. Look at how he was able to get back to his family. No one knew cane had it in him to pull that off with the stolen drugs and replacing it with sugar and also linking his family with a new connect without them suspecting a thing.

Kane is not as dumb as you might think. He was able to get Brayden to himself, pull out Ramirez badge and was able to plant the evidence in Tariq room. That is some slick move and we all see where it is heading to. Making tariq to take the fall.

Brayden parents won't be able to close the case cause the press is no following up the case and someone need to take the fall for both death and it won't be Brayden. All the cops have to do is to question both tariq and Brayden about where they were on the night of the murders. Tariq only alibi is his grandmother and now he is having problems with her. He is in for some deep shhit but I expect him to wizzle his way out cos that's why he is GHOST.

Kane so dumb

The cops finding Ramirez badge in Tariq room will prove that he was the one that killed him. Let's not forget that the cops called tariq burner which was the last call jabari received before he died. So they will link the murder of both to tariq.
