Sports / Kano, Port Harcourt, Kaduna In Early Lead In MTN International Polo Tourney by hotznewz: 5:23am On Aug 26, 2016
Participants featuring in the on-going MTN International Polo tournament in Katsina.

The prestigious MTN international polo tournament got off to a great start in Katsina last Saturday, with 32 top polo teams vying for honours.

The event that attracted a huge crowd to the Sir Usman Nagogo venue saw an impressive opening ceremony conducted by officials of the Nigerian Polo Federation (NPF), and other top government and private sector dignitaries.

The tournament, which has visiting teams from other cities like Bauchi, Kaduna, Kano, Minna, Port Harcourt, Sokoto, Yola, Zaria among others, was also accorded the royal blessing of the Emir of Katsina and Life Chairman Nigerian Polo, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulmumuni Kabir Usman.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, General Manager Consumer Marketing, MTN Nigeria, represented by MTN’s Regional Trade Marketing Manager, Abdulhamid Hassan, thanked the Nigerian polo family for patronizing the MTN brand, urging them to make good use of the various innovative products and services offered by the company.
“The Polo family in Nigeria and MTN has become a symbolic one, based on shared values. We are thankful to all Polo enthusiasts for the opportunity to have supported the development of the king’s game in Nigeria thus far,” Hassan said.

Also speaking, the former Governor of Kaduna State and Life President Katsina Polo Club, Alhaji Lawan Kaita, after bowling the first half of the tournament, acknowledged MTN for its support of polo. He also urged all participants to always play by the rules.

He described the telecom company’s relationship with Nigerian Polo as an endearing one and assured the cheering crowd of a most memorable time in Katsina.

As one of the most glamorous polo events in Nigeria, the MTN sponsored polo fiesta lived up to its billing with two Coommasie Cup, two Talba Cup and the Opening General Hassan Cup games taking the centre stage on the first day of the event.

In the first game of the event, Katsina Samraj outpaced Katsina Evergreen Land 7-61/2 in the opening game of Coomassie Cup. Port Harcourt Strata Base overwhelmed local rivals, Port Harcourt Shabbaz 3-2 in a fiercely contested second match.

The race for the Talba Cup got underway with Yola Yelwa and Kaduna Amana clinching impressive wins to set the pace in the intermediate Cup chase. Kano Bagauda came from behind to secure a morale boosting 5-4 victory in the General Hassan Cup opener to close the day on a high note.

Major prizes at stake in the MTN international polo festival include the much-coveted Nigerian Cup, which is the biggest cup. Other are the MTN Cup, the President’s Cup, the Governor’s Cup, Nagogo Memorial Cup, Maidabino Cup, Dikko Memorial Cup and the Beginners’’ Cup among other individual awards.

Sports / Five Things We Learnt In The Premier League by hotznewz: 6:49pm On Aug 21, 2016
Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and surprise package Hull City maintained their 100 percent records in the Premier League this weekend, but champions Leicester City and Arsenal remain winless.

Here are five things we learnt:

Pogba gives Manchester United extra heft

Paul Pogba made his second Manchester United debut in Friday’s 2-0 win over Southampton following his world-record 89 million pounds (105 million euros, $116 million) return from Juventus, catching the eye with his purposeful running and shooting. With the rangy Pogba, the gangly Marouane Fellaini, the strapping Eric Bailly and towering striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic — who scored twice — also in the starting XI, United look a more physically imposing team than they have for some time. United no longer instil dread in their opponents as they did under legendary former manager Alex Ferguson, but they look ready to go toe-to-toe with anyone under Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea’s Costa is back to his best/worst

Chelsea have won both their opening league games 2-1. On both occasions, Diego Costa scored a late winner. On both occasions, he was fortunate to still be on the pitch at the time. Against West Ham United, he netted an 89th-minute winner after avoiding a second booking for a wild lunge on goalkeeper Adrian. At Watford on Saturday, he was booked for dissent — as he had been against West Ham — before escaping punishment for an apparent dive on the edge of the hosts’ box. With three minutes remaining he raced onto Cesc Fabregas’s through ball and tucked the winner past Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes. Costa’s 20 goals inspired Chelsea to the title in 2015. He looked a shadow of himself last season, but if Chelsea are to mount a sustained title challenge in 2016-17, new manager Antonio Conte will hope the troublesome Spain international continues to play on the edge.

Stoke no longer provide England’s acid test

When Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona were weaving their dazzling patterns across the top-flight playing fields of Spain in the latter part of the last decade, a common refrain in England was: “Yes, but could they do it on a wet, windy afternoon in Stoke?” Guardiola took his Manchester City team to Stoke City’s newly renamed Bet365 Stadium at the weekend and the weather was appropriately unpleasant. But with Stoke manager Mark Hughes trying to introduce a more expansive playing style, the Potters are no longer the fearsome prospect they were under former manager Tony Pulis. They proved no match for Guardiola’s men as Sergio Aguero and new recruit Nolito each scored twice in a one-sided 4-1 victory.

Burnley prove possession isn’t everything

Another effect of Guardiola’s achievements with Barcelona was a Europe-wide fetishisation of possession, but as Burnley’s 2-0 win over Liverpool proved, it is what you do with the ball that counts. Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool saw 80 percent of the ball at Turf Moor, but Burnley’s supreme defensive organisation restricted the visitors to long-range potshots. Sean Dyche’s side prevailed courtesy of well-taken first-half strikes by Sam Vokes and Andre Gray to record their first win since securing promotion from the Championship in May.

Wenger is running out of time, and patience

Arsenal’s supporters could be forgiven for feeling like they have been here before. Just as in 2015, the north London club have made one exciting signing early in the transfer window — Petr Cech last year, Granit Xhaka this — but once again they have failed to strengthen their squad further with any significant signings. Just as in 2015, they were beaten at home in their opening game — by West Ham last year, by Liverpool this — and are already being written off as title contenders. Manager Arsene Wenger angrily hit out at scrutiny of the club’s transfer policy following his side’s 0-0 draw at champions Leicester City and said he would not spend money for the sake of it. But with 10 days until the transfer window closes, the clock is ticking.

Sports / Siasia Gives Team Nigeria Only Medal Of Rio 2016 by hotznewz: 4:06am On Aug 21, 2016
NIGERIA’S Dream Team secured the country’s first and only Rio 2016 Olympic Games medal with a 3-2 defeat of Honduras in the bronze medal match at Mineirao Stadium on Saturday.

It is the third Olympic medal for Nigeria’s footballers after taking gold at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games and silver at Beijing 2008. Honduras missed the chance to win their first medal in any sport in 11 Olympic Games appearances.

Sadiq Umar opened the score in the 34th minute after a weighted pass from John Obi Mikel and made it 3-0 with his fourth goal of the tournament midway through the second half Aminu Umar gave his team a 2-0 lead just after the half-time following a shot delivered by Mikel that goalkeeper Luis Lopez of Honduras struggled to catch. As in the 6-0 defeat by Brazil in their semifinal, Honduras’ backline showed their frailties. Before scoring, Aminu Umar shot against both the right and the left post and Usman Muhammed put his header over the bar. Honduras pressed to get back in the match as Antony Lozano found the net with 19 minutes remaining and Marcelo Pereira benefited from a costly mistake by Emmanuel Daniel to net a late second.

Despite pushing hard for a goal to even the scores and force extra-time, Honduras could not make the equaliser and Nigeria secured their medal.

On their way to the bronze medal match, Nigeria finished top of group B and beat Den- mark 2-0 in a quarterfinal before being defeated 2-0 by Germany in the semifinal.

Speaking on the match, Dream Team captain John Obi Mikel said the team was spurred to victory because of the loss to Germany. “I was disappointed against Germany (beaten 2-0 in the semifinal) because I don’t like losing, I always want to win. But I am so proud of this team, the boys. They worked so hard.”

“We have an amazing coach, he’s always been there for the boys.” On what the medal means for Nigeria; “It is very important, because football in Nigeria is absolutely massive. We had extra-pressure perhaps, but we have done it for us, for our family, for Nigeria.”

Coach Samson Siasia on his part said: “I want to say thanks to the players. They did a great job. It is good to take something back home. “Having bronze is not easy, we are happy and we have to celebrate. We have to enjoy this moment.”

On Brazilian crowds during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games: “I want to thank Brazil for the great support and hospitality. We are very pleased about staying here.”s

Nigerian army flushes insurgents out of Bauchi forests

Armstrong Bakam, Bauchi

The Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, Brigadier General Abraham Dusu, said the military has embarked on an operation to flush out insurgents and other criminal elements in Bauchi State forests.

Dusu, who disclosed this while addressing journalists on Thursday said the “aggressive” operation was ongoing in Lame and Burra forests in Toro and Ningi Local Goverrnent areas of the state.

He said that the Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Yusuf Buratai, had directed the Brigade to carry out the operations after a series of complaints by residents of the areas about the movement of unidentified people with arms in the forests.

Dusu said, “Residents said that people carrying guns had been sighted in the forests or migrated to the state from Sambisa forest as a result of operations there.

“For the past two days operations by our officers and men have been going on.

“We are going to enter all the forests in the state and any other location within the state where there are reports of bandits , kidnappers and cattle rustlers. We have adequate troops and I will also tell you that we have air support to flush them out.”

The commander said the operations would be extended to every nook and cranny of the state as well as Yankari and Balmore forests, which are dense.

He urged the residents of those areas to remain calm and report any suspicious movement to the authorities.

Dusu told journalists that the Nigerian Army had the support of other security agencies in the state in the operation.

“The Commissioner of Police in the state gave me his word that the police will give us the necessary support we may need, he said.

It would be recalled that a Senator representing Bauchi Central, Hamma Misau, recently raised the alarm that insurgents were setting up a base in some forests in the state, calling on the Federal Government and the Chief of Army Staff to immediately intervene.

I tell people to always avoid trouble with the military. They're hard to prosecute. The military authorities only treat 1 out of every 20 cases involving them with civilians. It's usually on OYO basis...

Well... this is true but it has to stop.

It's crazy that the same people we are told to feel for cos they protect our country for us come back into "our" country and brutalize us.

IT'S AN EYESORE!!!

We need to re-orientate our military men trust me!
Politics / Nigerian Legislators Reply Babangida; Remind Him Of History by hotznewz: 11:53pm On Aug 19, 2016
Some Nigerian legislators on Friday, August 19, 2016, took time to react to a recent comment credited to former military head of state, Ibrahim Babangida, in which he said he would prefer a part time legislature for Nigeria.

Nigeria currently runs the a full time legislature in the 36 states of the federation as well as at the National Assembly. The country also operates a bicameral legislature at the national level and this is broken into the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Speaking with journalists as he clocked 75, Babangida said: “In 1989, we proposed that the National Assembly should be made part time and I still believe if I have the opportunity, I will make it part time.

“I strongly believe in it and it is all in the effort to reduce the high cost of governance‎ and I know I may be in trouble for suggesting part time legislature.”

The trouble he is expecting as a result of the comment comes from both serving and past members of the Lagos state House of Assembly, some of whom reminded him of how he destroyed the country and the dream of democracy.

While some gave reasons why they think Nigeria was not ripe for part time legislature, others said he asked him to keep shut because he is not the right person to speak on the country’s democracy while reminding him of some things he failed to do when he had the opportunity.

Romance / Sexy Tips: 10 Sex Rules All Women Should Follow by hotznewz: 2:12pm On Aug 19, 2016
If you are interested in having a hotter and more exciting sex life, these are the rules to follow.

As a woman who wants to have a satisfying sex life, it is important to keep a few things in mind. Figuring out what works for you and what doesn't will help you guide your partner.

Here are ten basic things you must know in order to have a better sex life.

1. Nothing wrong with the bedroom

A lot of articles and advice columns recommend doing it in all kinds of wild and wonderful places and that's not necessarily a bad thing, but never underestimate a good time under the covers. Your bed is one of the places where you are most comfortable and if you want to explore and get out of your comfort zone, what better place to do it than where you’re most comfortable?

2. Stop comparing

Are your friends having more or better sex than you are? If so, does it matter? The real question you should be asking yourself is - are you happy with the sex you’re getting? Each one of us is different and while your friend may get her kicks out of swinging from the chandelier, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying a slow evening of sweet kissing, cuddling and gentle love-making.

3. Have more sex

It is perfectly natural for our sex lives to ebb and flow. Sometimes you can do it 6 or 7 times a week and sometimes you can go without it for a couple of weeks. If you want to keep your sex life active all you have to do is do it, and do it well. When you are having great orgasms, your body will naturally crave more. The reverse to that of course, is that if you go without it for too long a period, your body forgets what it’s missing and you have to put in a lot of effort to get yourself excited again.

4. Have alone time

Masturbation is awesome for many reasons. Not only is it pleasurable, it gives you the chance to know what turns you on and gets you off.

5. Get active

You should always have sex in mind when you exercise. The Kegel move is great for strengthening your pubococcygeal (pc) muscles and the muscles lining the wall of your vagina and the entire base of your core. They’re the muscles you use when you’re peeing, when you give birth and when you orgasm. So working these muscles until they’re nice and strong will give you Read the full gist

Romance / Short And Sweet: Seducing The Neighbour by hotznewz: 1:48pm On Aug 19, 2016
http://news.naijaobserver.com/view/4149/short-and-sweet-seducing-the-neighbour

By Lola Phillips... I had been Hot all through that morning and my hands and toys were just no longer doing it for me. I put on a simple robe and went over.

Biodun moved next door opposite me two months ago. The first time I saw him, I thought he was extremely handsome.

I did not know him all that well until after a short discussion one day when he told me that he worked part time as an electrician.

This was why, when my cable started acting up last week Monday, I was excited to have a reason to invite him over.

I had been Hot all through that morning and my hands and toys were just no longer doing it for me. I put on a simple robe and went over. He opened the door and looked surprised to see me.

“Kemi, hi,” he said.

“Hey. I don’t mean to bug you but I am having some problems with my TV and cable.”

“Oh, it’s no problem. Give me a minute and I will come over to check it out.”

I went back to my apartment. I considered changing out of my t-shirt into something more decent, but I was really hoping to get some, so I figured I will have to stay that way.

Soon after, I opened the door to lead him in. As I got near the TV, I bent over to show him the cords like he asked.

My shirt hardly covered my ass standing up, bent over it covered nothing. At that moment I decided I would have some fun with him and just maybe if I was lucky I could seduce him.

When I turned around to face him, he had a funny look on his face. My eyes fell to his groin, he had a very noticeable bulge. I gave him a wicked smile.

He slowly came over to where I was standing. He stood half behind me half beside me, leaning sideways to see the cables. His hip brushed my ass as he leaned. I could feel his body heat radiating through his clothes, smell his cologne, and feel his breath on my cheek.

I stood up pressing softly against him, asking if there was anything else he needed. His voice wavered slightly as he stammered a "no, not yet". I could tell by his voice that my plan was starting to work.

I turned to face him, my breasts brushing his chest, my hand ‘accidentally’ touching his hard dick as I moved away so he could get to the cables.

He shivered almost just a little as he began to check the connectors to see if they were the problem.

I went to the sofa, and sat so that my shirt was above my hips. When he stood to ask me a question he stopped mid-sentence.

Stuttering, he asked if I had any other connections in the house, his eyes roaming my body as he spoke.

I watched as his eyes went from my feet to my bare hip. He licked his lips, perhaps unconsciously, and asked if I could show him where the other TV’s were.

I got up and my shirt slid down to cover my ass, his eyes followed it, tracing the outline off my round buttocks through the thin, silky material.

"It's in my room,” I said, as I stood and headed towards there. I wanted to be in front of him so he could have his fill as we went.

I could feel his eyes on my a$$, watching as I made my way to the room. I walked to the table upon hich the TV sat and bent over to pull it away from the wall to give access to the cables.

As I was bending over I felt a warm hand caress my bare ass. Mmmm... I was wet from the teasing already, now I was dripping. His touch felt sooo good.

He asked if he was out of line, if he was getting the wrong signals from me. I turned to face him, his hand stayed and slid around to my hot mound, trembling just a bit.

I looked him in the eye, covered his quivering hand with mine and slid it between my legs.

His fingers moved easily, manipulating my hot, swollen cunt. Our eyes locked on each other's as he delved a finger into my slippery kitten. He seemed unsure about if what he was doing was right so I took his other hand and placed it on my breast.

Mmmmm I moaned, I loved the feel of his hands on me, his fingers in me. I swayed toward him. Just as I was an inch or so from his face he kissed me, kissed me with a lustful hunger, rolling my clit with one hand, gently pinching my nippl# through my shirt with the other.

I leaned back against the dresser that was right behind me, hoping he would replace his fingers with his tongue. His hands came around to my ass, kneading my hot flesh, pulling my hips forward. He sat me down on the dresser and lifted my legs over his shoulder.

He softly parted my puffy lips with his talented tongue. I was so Hot I orgasmed as soon as he touched my clit. My body shook as I rode his tongue, cumming again and again.

Feeling weak from the intense pleasure I let my leg slide from his shoulder, walked to the bed and sat on the edge.

I motioned for him to come to me. As he stood he unbuttoned his shirt, pulling it off and letting it fall to the floor. He started to unzip his pants and I told him to stop, that I wanted to UnCloth the rest of him.

As I reached the waistband of his pants I pulled the button open, slowly unzipping them, the hiss of the zipper echoed in the silence.

I was so wet, the bed under me was wet, I wanted to be filled with him. I laid back and waited for him to take over me.

I groaned and told him I wanted him t that very moment. I wanted him to take me, fill me with his hard pecker.

He slid his rigid staff into me as I was begging him... slowly, still teasing me… giving me just a little of what I wanted. It felt so good to have a man inside of me.

I started to move my hips in rhythm with his, raising to him as he pulled back, pushing into him as he thrust forward, forcing him deeper into my hot tunne. He pumped in and out of my dripping cunt, making me cum really hard.

He was moaning deep and loud, thrusting faster and faster, the room was so quiet aside from the sounds of our heaving breaths and gasps of lust, and the slopping, sucking noises of him pounding my sopping kitten.

Slamming my slippery cunt, throwing his head back, groaning low in his throat, he told me how good it felt to 4k me, how good my kitten felt wrapped around his c)ck.

I was ready to cum again, I tightened my kitten muscles on his pulsating hardness. I felt him slam into me harder as he came.

I squeezed my kitten even tighter around him, milking him as my juices flowed over his c)ck. My body shook from the pleasure, he smiled at me as I lay there, my head spinning with the intenseness of the orgasm.

I closed my eyes. This is definitely going to happen again, I thought.

Romance / Solo Sex: 3 Big Masturbation Mistakes Women Make by hotznewz: 1:39pm On Aug 19, 2016

If you are not getting the very best from masturbation, it might be because you are making these three mistakes.

The art of female masturbation is one that requires a lot more than simply getting it on. Some women have expressed concerns that they have not been able to achieve orgasm or even intense pleasure during masturbation.

If this sounds like you, here are three big mistakes you might be making.

1. You try too hard

If you are feeling pressured to achieve orgasm, the less likely you are to experience it. After all, masturbation should be first and foremost about pleasure rather than getting to orgasm as fast as possible. Giving yourself permission to enjoy the moment rather than feeling like every moment not spent orgasming is a failure will actually make an orgasm more likely to happen. Try not to think about the end goal, and rather focus on just touching yourself in a way that feels good.

2. You do not give yourself consent

Unfortunately, the taboo surrounding masturbation, particularly female masturbation, dates back centuries. While we might be a lot more accepting of these things, if you're having trouble masturbating, it could be because you're still harboring some kind of guilt. If you're not giving yourself permission to touch yourself, then how else are you going to know how you like to be touched?

3. Your sexuality depends on a man

Because masturbation is something some women don't feel they are "allowed" to do, it's possible they're placing the responsibility of their orgasm solely on their partner. If you've always relied on other people to get off then your orgasm belongs to somebody else. While this is a totally understandable place to be in, if you really want to get it on solo, you have to push your partner out of your mind and explore your own sexuality. There's only one way to learn about your sexuality, and that's to dive right in. Try looking at photos, reading erotica, watching porn, whatever makes you feel sexy.
