The problem of the NA is not money. Even if Elon Musk heard Odumeje preaching tomorrow, got born again and decided to donate all his billions to the NA, virtually nothing will change. You could dash them a thousand T-90s and add a hundred Blackjack strategic bombers to the mix, plus rail guns and TOPOL missiles and still nothing serious will change.

The NA as it is set up is as intrinsically dysfunctional as a 3-legged crab addicted to meth and formalin-soaked PCP. It's main problems are corruption, incompetence, near-total indifference to human rights and inability to change and these problems are what defines it.

They are still doing the same things they were doing when this insurgency began and if you question them they will say you don't love your country and don't appreciate the sacrifices of our darling troops. They are still robbing this country blind in the creeks, on the highways, at the ports and during equipment acquisitions and if you question them their friends on this platform will say you don't love your country because you are Igbo and because you are not eating with them.

I still remember the case of that general whose men took the hundreds of millions of Naira they were supposed to deliver somewhere and ran. Has the money fountain been closed or are there still convoys moving ill-gotten gains made by NA top staff from place to place that we don't know about?

The indifference to human rights I was talking about fundamentally weakens the NA and deprives it of local support. Remember that video of the last two weeks where they were filmed firing GMPG at houses in Enugu. Well, that was my village and within stone throw of my hamlet.

They killed someone that I know about and possibly others I do not know about. But of course they will deny if asked, just like they deny every negative thing. And after stuff like this if my village youths decided to join IPOB or other secessionist groups en masse I no go blame them. Same way, if after the IDPs raped and molested in refugee camps across the country decide to join Boko Haram tomorrow I no go blame them.

Yeah, in most cases, this gross disrespect for human rights by the NA triggers more problems than it solves and they do not seem to know that or care. They have been killing us at will, acting like fashion police, oppressing us all they like and still expect us to love them. Like how?


And those of you saying we should invite ECOWAS troops to help us out are just being naïve. This war we are fighting is above all things a political war. The enemy has sympathizers, apologists and collaborators in the highest reaches of this government and its agencies and within the army itself. Read David Hundeyin's expose and see what I'm talking about. So, why would a government filled with jihad-loving individuals invite foreign troops to help them fight other jihad-loving individuals?

Let's face it, if this government is actually serious about wiping out ISWA and the Boko boys once and for all, it can do that and within a year max. It doesn't though and if you can't see that then you are as blind as a bat that has been used for r1tuals

That Lekki incident was the breaking point for me how people still deny the obvious, incidentally I was at the DHQ a day after the incident I remembered how a lady a (naval Commander) was so bitter and was even verbally insulting an army Captain in her office for making disparaging comments on the protesters, emotions were high, even within the army many were sad at the turn of events but some trolls who only know about the military from blogs/media will be defending rubbish. That day I learnt alot of things, and I don't blanketly insult or curse the entire military they have lots of good conscientious officers within their folds unfortunately the bad ones are the loudest.

People that denied that viral video of soldiers shooting into a civilian home and later said they'll investigate the video have you people heard anything from them since then? We hate telling ourselves the truth in this country untill it boomerangs and we fall victim of what we defend. That won't stop us to continue praying for the men and women of the armed forces and rallying support for them.
The General that was unfortunately killed in action died as a result of ambush from an IED laden vehicle followed by rapid fire from the enemy, he was moving in a gun truck aggressively to the objective when tragedy struck; if we query the continuous use of Toyota pickup military tacticians that haven't crossed Abuja will say people are being irrational & emotional. I knew how vulnerable I felt inside an APC during a visit to one of the sacked villages in Zamfara; now think about those soldiers that helplessly sit-down like sheep's waiting to be slaughtered in an open roof guntruck we forget these are people's loved ones.

Omo I watched the unfortunate video of soldiers firing GPMG into what appears to be a civilian settlement and the idiots recorded themselves worst of it all they were chanting slurs in Hausa language thus creating room for perfect propaganda material for separatists to use. The rank and file of the l army are another breed entirely, I pray the authorities don't worsen the situation by coming out to deny it because that video obviously wasn't doctored the culprits should be used to set example if not they'll grant legitimacy to IPOB and if we can't win the hearts of the ordinary man on the streets, it's pointless fighting a war that the enemies have support from the locals.

What I tell some of these funny folks that defend the rascality of the military is that they should go and read The Posse Comitatus Act ; little wonder when Nigerian soldiers die in battle Nigerians don't bat an eyelid compared to the respect accorded the military in the US and other countries. Fela rightly called them Zombies and till date they keep justifying that statement it's unfortunate.
The entire security agencies in Nigeria needs serious reorientation infact recruits/enlisted soldiers should be mandated to go for a 1 year compulsory course on human rights and allied matters before they even begin basic military course.

I recall how Cameroon authorities tried to deny the killing of several women by their soldiers and pass it off as having occurred in another country ( unspoken suspicion being placed on Nigeria) . However International interest lead to investigators being able to determine their guilt by use of satellite and other digital means. Cameroon had no hiding place in the end.

It is very important for what occurred in this vid to be made clear ad transparent. Nigeria army should make a great deal of this so that no room is left for exploitation by agitators. If al turns out as it seems, then make an example of the soldiers, publicly, however difficult this may be to moral and reputation.

Don't waste your time they've already denied it in their usual manner.

The Nigerian army have a history of poor human rights record it didn't start today, this has been the case since the 60's it is not a matter of a few individuals this is almost like a policy. Similar scenario happened in a village at Aba were Nigerian Soldiers went house to house butchering unarmed civilians with matchete the video is even on YouTube.
I won't be surprised if they deny it and some people here will shamelessly defend them.

May the soul of innocent people killed by security agents find rest in God's Bossom from the massacre in Zaria, Obigbo, Lekki and Izombe etc and may those involved in extrajudicial killings meet their end.

Desert warfare experience for what? If the Naval infantry or the NNSBS needs such experience, why not just meet the Nigerian Army for the necessary training, same way the USN Seals meets the US Army for their Jump School training? That will save cost considerably compared to opening an independent training facility.

There are facilities in Jaji, Naval school Kachia that can easily be used for these trainings at little or no cost to the Navy. The Tri-services even have units of their special forces training in Jaji, I understand what the other guy was saying when he was referring sentimental attachments in building military facilities these are legitimate concerns but sadly we like dismissing these issues by calling critics bigot.

Come to think of it, no Military institution in the country produce the profession some cores of the army needs like Medicals profession, Public relation, legal and Education among others. if they scrap it then how can there recruit such profession which inputted immensely and are very important. Look at it carefully and think.

I think the person that talked about scraping DSSC was referring to course 26 not the entire DSSC. I also learnt about the cancellation of DSSC 26 from a personnel even though I have my doubts. Dssc 26 is the most controversial enlistment ever.

What's concerns Igbos in the north with what Kanu is doing? If the same Igbos and the entire south decides to pay the north in their own coin putting into cognizance the history of ethnic and religious violence in your region the north would have been expelled from the rest of the country. Gideon Akaluka, Bridget Agbaheme where killed and beheaded in Kano and no one was brought to justice, same for the Redeemed female Pastor killed in Abuja, no one threatened the northerners in the south because people believe that it has nothing to do with them.
Also no one is threatening to Kill the Hausa/Fulani doing their business in the south on account of the atrocities Fulani Herdsmen commited at Igangan, infact you have been silent on it. No one holds the sole monopoly to violence, but If the north think it can keep on threatening a section of the country then they'll be in for a serious shocker, same people that are all mute in the ongoing carnage in Benue.
All of you will soon learn that Nigeria does not start and end with Hausa/Fulani, Igbo or Yorubas. Hypocrites.

Nigerian Army (NA) troops operating in Owerri the Imo State capital foiled an early morning attack on the Imo State Police Command today 6 June 2021. The troops assisted by the Police Special Forces eliminated a top IPOB/ESN Operational Commander, Joseph Uka Nnachi alias King of Dragons, who has been orchestrating attacks against security agencies and government establishments in the South Eastern States. He has been at the centre of several heinous attacks since the death of Ikonso who gave up the ghost during an encounter with security forces on 24 April 2021 at Awomama Village of Orlu East LGA of Imo State.

Equaly neutralised along with Dragon were four of his cohorts while one was captured alive and has been assisting security forces with useful information. The troops recovered four AK-47 Rifles, a Toyota Hiace Mini bus used as operational vehicle by the assailants as well as several assorted ammunitions and charms.

It would be recalled that IPOB/ESN Terrorists attacked the Imo State Police Command on 5 April 2021 and since then, the security forces had been on the trail of the assailants leading to the successful elimination of the key figures involved.

The NA wishes to place on records it's profound appreciation to the peace-loving citizens of Imo State and the entire citizenry for their support towards combating security challenges in the South East and the rest of the country. The Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen Faruk Yahaya, particularly noted this as a patriotic gesture and appealed to the public to do more while assuring them of the NA's resolve to end the reign of terror in the country.
