Autos / Re: Auction Vehicles Below One Million Naira (*Updated*) by HRHGambino(m): 2:11pm On Dec 07, 2013
The EOD you posted don damage well well o for that price and mileage. By the time it gets here and one fixes it plus takes on the clearing costs, it should come around the price for a non-accidented fully cleared one. I might be interested but the price is a bit of a turn off.

Business / Re: UBA Named 'African Bank Of The Year. by HRHGambino(m): 3:16am On Dec 01, 2012
Thomas Anongu: Hold it there! UBA or Uba bank don't deserve award if it were based on excellent services, bank policies, quality of staff, etc. But I guess they used it to get money 4m dem. Mugu + Mumu Bank. Check out foolish bank wey get award. 4 wat?

@the pic you posted, what do you find wrong with that scenario? The queue or the banking hall or the customers
Business / Re: UBA Named 'African Bank Of The Year. by HRHGambino(m): 3:10am On Dec 01, 2012
The award clearly states "best bank in Africa" and not "best bank in Nigeria". It's okay to say in terms of customer service delivery, UBA might have a gap to cover in Nigeria but also remember Nigeria is just one of the 19 African countries UBA has presence in so I don't understand all this noise about the award not being well deserved or Gtbank deserving it. How many african countries is Gtbank present in? Gtbank wouldn't even make the nominee list for such an award when the likes of ecobank and standard bank who equally have as much presence are there. We need to open our minds and stop thinking of things only in the Nigerian context. Take for instance Standard Chartered, which is one of the small players in the banking sector in Nigeria (for now), does that rule out the fact that it's still one of the top rated banks in terms of everything globally?

UBA still remains the bank of choice when it comes to transacting business all over the african continent.
Business / Re: Ikeja City Mall At Alausa by HRHGambino(m): 1:15pm On Dec 22, 2011
Dude Tinapa is a free trade zone or area if you like and not a single mall in itself tongue
Business / Re: Ikeja City Mall At Alausa by HRHGambino(m): 3:09am On Dec 21, 2011
Be it a mall or a factory, I think what should be of utmost importance here is the amount of money that has been invested into our economy by these foreigners. The mall costs about a $100m or N16b and would employ about 900 people so I really don't understand why someone would say that building this mall isn't a welcome development. So many factories I know of didn't cost this much and certainly did not employ as much as 900 people when they started off. After seeing the place both during the construction and after making a visit there last week, I can say without a doubt that the Ikeja City Mall is the biggest mall in this country and probably West Africa as the owners say.
Politics / Re: Ojukwu: Gowon Blasted Over Biafra Comments by HRHGambino(m): 4:21pm On Dec 04, 2011
@aribisala0 I totally agree with you. That war wasn't well planned for which was a flaw on the part of Ojukwu and other ndigbo leaders. Even though the Biafrans had every reason to declare that war, you wouldn't expect your enemies or even the intl community to see reasons with you cos in the end what all the stupid western countries that assisted Nigeria were after was what they could get just like as it has always happened, as it happened in Libya and will continue to happen for a long time to come. If Ojukwu had used just even 5 more months to think about how to secure the biafran borders to prevent a blockade, get the displaced people settled down adequately in the region, get weapons and medical supplies, the casualties would have been far less and probably one or two of those western countries would have assisted Biafra cos it would be clear that both regions have equal capabilities so it would be a question of 'who has more to offer us?' Its a dog eat dog world we live in finally.
Politics / Re: Ojukwu: Gowon Blasted Over Biafra Comments by HRHGambino(m): 11:50am On Dec 04, 2011
@queensmith firstly you are just a very big fool for calling Ojukwu a goat about something you know little or nothing about. Ojukwu was stupid and yet the FG wants to immortalize him? The Senate held a special session honouring him? Britian apologised on their role in the war 3 years ago? The senate decided for the NAF to accord him the fullest respect any high ranking military officer would be accorded cos current security challenges in the country may compromise a state burial? Buhari referred to him as a legend? Gowon says that Ojukwu and Ndigbo were justified on their reasons for going to the war? If you do not know much then go and ask the right people questions or research before you blab. The choice of that war wasn't Ojukwu's decision as has been restated by Biafran war veterans. He declared that war following the advice of top igbo military officers, the eastern region parliament and even the eastern region in its entirety. You think its fair when displaced 2million easterners return back to the east with nothing and then Gowon refuses to pay those in the civil service until march of 1967 as was agreed in Aburi? You think its fair that no displaced easterner could return back to any region in this country to reclaim their properties cos of fear of their lives and Gowon with his ministry of finance also refusing to act on this as was stated in the Aburi accord? My grandfather recalls that when the pogroms in the north started he was a civil servant at the time with P&T but he had to flee away from his office through the window leaving everything he had worked for, for fear of his life. What exactly did you want the 'igbo man' to do? I hope you know that Aburi conference couldn't hold in Nigeria because no igbo man was guaranteed of his safety outside the eastern region. The war may have been too hasty but all igbos agreed on it and that's why the igbo people revere ojukwu as a true and a courageous leader till tomorrow. So please watch your utterances and show some respect. The war was our decision, and the casualties ours as well. We are not complaining so you have no right to.
Politics / Re: Ojukwu: Gowon Blasted Over Biafra Comments by HRHGambino(m): 8:54am On Dec 04, 2011
@dayokanu, what sort of prayer is this? "God Bless Benjamin BABAMAJA ADEKUNLE wherever he is for wrecking havoc on the Biafran heartlands" Have you heard from Benjamin Adekunle (black scorpion) of late? Have you seen how he has been conveniently neglected by the same Nigerian Army he killed his fellow compatriots for just to represent their interests? Do you have igbo friends? Can you say this where they are? Well all that is by the way.

Of course everyone here by now knows Ojukwu didn't just wake up one morning and declared an independent state of Biafra or that he even did so after the Aburi meeting as has been said by misinformed people. Ojukwu declared Biafra 4 months after Gowon reneged on everything that was agreed on in the Aburi accord on the advise of Awolowo and some other permanent secretaries at the time for purely political reasons because if you go through that accord carefully, you'd see that everything in it is what we all as Nigerians clamour for today.

Moreover its funny when I hear stuff like Ojukwu played on the intelligence of other delegates at Aburi. The eastern delegation at that meeting was only about a quarter of the total people present at the meeting and everyone there gave their submissions based on what they felt was good for the country at the time, so where does this notion of Ojukwu fooling anyone or igbo vs yoruba thing come up? Infact there is no part of that accord that left the operations of the upstream sector in the hands of any regional governor, eastern or whatever. Gowon reneged on that accord for purely political reasons.

The igbos were crippled financially and economically following Gowon's action. Their safety wasn't guaranteed anywhere in the country. Thousands of easterners had and were still dying as a result of Gowon's inefficiency and then you expect for them to just cross their legs and look on without doing anything? Ojukwu declared war following the decision taken by the parliament of the then eastern region based on all these reasons because Gowon was trying to force them into living in a country that didn't protect their interests at all. Igbos died in thousands during that war but hear me when I say this NOT ONE IGBO MAN living at the time felt they made a mistake by embarking on that war and whether you like it or not, unless a Sovereign National Conference is convened today, we would still keep on having these problems we face as a people. We can't be fooling ourselves that we are one in this country when only just a few months back innocent corpers of southern origin who thought they were serving their country were brutally murdered in the north for no reason at all. Boko Haram is busy causing terror wherever they feel they can because they want an islamic state. Niger deltans cry out neglect despite the fact that 80% - 90% of this country's foreign exchange comes from that region. We just can't continue like this!
