If she is married to an Edo man that makes her an Edo woman. Why is now now representing Anambra state? But wait a minute. This Madueke woman who is from Bayelsa but married to an Enugu man, which state is she representing? If Bayelsa then Goodluck Jonathan is laying a bad precept for the country, putting asunder what God has joined together. He should remember in Marriage ,1+1=1

about i million or more enter china every year in search of cheap product, and if then the 1 million or more enter there with 10 to 100,000 dollars, you know what will happen. the factory will, sheat you 30% the taxi driver will sheat you 1% the truck pucher will sheat 2% you will pay additional 2 yuan for the taxi for there you supose to know.then every thing you do as a foreiner you must pay additional 1 to 15% which you don't know now tell . if you have shop whether you are gaining or losing you must employ there own citizeen to be incharge as to give report what is going on wthin the business if the business is booming thats the end of you that start and invest in that business infact your own is finished. so all this stealing from foreners tell me why there economy should not be booming, in nigeria when a our immigration ,officer or custom oe police even army see foreiner that beilive they have see THERE GOD they will star washiping them immediatly, if nigeria can aply the method which china is using to intimidate foreiners i tell you in the next one year our economy will rise more that china .you can imagine a country where cheating is welcome by the gmt so tell me china will load all kinds of there food come into nigeria for there own use but try and take one tuba of yam enter china you will see hoe the custom and imigration will cut it into pieces. and you are there claping and dancing for them,
Point of correction the Chinese Law states that for you to set up a company in China you must employ at least one of their citizen.I guess that is equally the case in Nigeria. It never says that Chinese must be in charge of the company as you pointed out.If you think this is so bad,why not try another country to see.Meanwhile many foreign companies are rushing down to China to set up offices and factories because of cheap and you are here whining. If i may add please try to work on your English ,especially your spellings they are total disaster.Peace!

While the USA are battling with aging infrastructure, for example JFK international airport which looks like an airport found in third world country.Try visiting Beijing or Shanghai airports you will see the state of the art airport which can only be compared to the likes found in Dubai and Qatar. There is massive investment in infrastructure here in China,railway,highrise/skyscrapers,bridges,schools,roads etc.So the Chinese are no pushovers in terms of constructions.Don't forget they are the ones handling about 90% of constructions be it railways, refineries, highrise buildingsetc in Africa.

It's a know fact now that Chinese kids do better than American kids in Maths and Science, this is of course from recently released reports.Chinese parents invest so much in education of their wards, enrolling them in after school hours lessons like arts and crafts, piano, martial arts, English, science lessons etc. The kids are taught to work hard from young age. They hardly have time to play, with homework piled- up.And it's projected that Chinese economy will overtake the US economy by the year 2030.So we are seeing the next superpower in the making.

@omega25red
tell you now that bridge has a life of 5 years before the made in china of it shows
You are uninformed.Do you think anything about Chinese is fake?My friend wake up and take a trip to China, then you will completely abandon that stereotype.Chinese built the fastest train in the world at the moment, they built the longest wall in the world and it has been there for more than 2,000 years hasn't collapsed ,now they built the longest bridge in the world and you are saying it will not last for 5 years.Guy wake up!

Good analogy. The British knowing all these deliberately handed power over to the poor, and uneducated northerners to rule the more educated and mobile southerner thereby dragging us way back. Now it's   the same north  that says "Western education is a sin" and want to continue to hold power."Born to rule"my foot.

With that kind of money you can go into international business. You can import building/construction materials from China. You can even import from UK products like Twyford bathroom wares.I tell you my brother your profit will be astounding and you will definitely be grateful to me for this advice.

Where are these Yoruba ethnic jingoistic that are always quick to see the log in their neighbor's eyes while overlooking the ones in their own eyes.
Doris you are right. You can imagine them trying   to excuse the guys action saying he might be possessed, he might have a mental problem, etc. If the guy were an Igbo, you would have seen the barrage of insult and curses they would throw not on the guy but Igbo people as a whole.I thought they said they are the most civilized ethnic group in Nigeria, they should try to see one action based on the individual not placing blanket judgement on a  particular tribe for what one of them did.

@Reflector ,Do you think that building a 20 bedroom(ensuite) hostel in a one storey building in form of "face me i face you "will be a better option on lets say 100 by 60 land?

It's rather on the high side.I hope this figure here doesn't discourage people like us who really wants to set up hostels.
PropertiesRe: Building A Student Hostel : Profitability And Challenges by hugooh42(m): 2:23pm On Jun 25, 2011
spent close to 35mil including the land purchase. 16 rooms, a storey building. 8 rooms on each floor. I would have loved post a picture of it, but for security reasons, sorry,no.
How can one build a hostel of 16 rooms upstairs for 30 million? cos he said the land was 5million.Is this realistic?
PropertiesRe: Building A Student Hostel : Profitability And Challenges by hugooh42(m): 5:38pm On Jun 24, 2011
I think having 5 different kitchen is risky and takes up too much space. Ensuite rooms with reading table and cupboards should be decent
Some big girl's would not like the ideas of sharing their kitchen with others. So i think having separate kitchens are Ok.
PropertiesRe: Building A Student Hostel : Profitability And Challenges by hugooh42(m): 5:25pm On Jun 24, 2011
@Reflector How about building in "L" form ,if there is 8 rooms downstairs and upstairs (10 by10) add extra 2 rooms on the" L" wing, thereby making it 10 rooms up 10 rooms down on 100ft by 60ft land.By your estimate how much do you think this project will cost?.Excluding interior furnishing.
PropertiesRe: Building A Student Hostel : Profitability And Challenges by hugooh42(m): 10:06am On Jun 24, 2011
Will it not be better to reduce the size of the room, then have the bed suspended in the air, and the closet underneath or reading table. With that there will be enough space in the room.If the rooms look to large it will encourage squatting many students.I wonder why people are not contributing to these thread or don;t they see the profitability of these project?
If i may ask Reflctor, are you are building engineer?
PropertiesRe: Building A Student Hostel : Profitability And Challenges by hugooh42(m): 4:42pm On Jun 23, 2011
I don't think such incident (cult fight)would make the students not to rent any.Rather if the hostel becomes notorious for such that should be when that will come to play.Every endeavour/investement have it's own risks but rather on dwelling on the risks we should be optimistic and hope for the best.Seriously since this thread started,i have gathered quite a lot and have already called home for land.
FoodRe: Is Rice, The Real African Culture? Africans Seems To Love Rice by hugooh42(m): 1:52pm On Jun 23, 2011
The Chinese eat rice twice a day.For lunch and dinner which amounts to 14 times a week and 56 times a month. I don't think rice is a a staple food in Nigeria. In most families in Nigeria, rice is still "Sunday Sunday" food.
PropertiesRe: Building A Student Hostel : Profitability And Challenges by hugooh42(m): 1:00pm On Jun 23, 2011
When building a student hostel of lets say 20 rooms self contain, there is need to put enough space into consideration.A storey building of 10 rooms up and 10 rooms down on two plots of land. Also you need to build shops to let for ,restaurant to serve the students and library if possible for extra cash.

AWKA – OFFICIALS of Anambra State Task Force on Markets and Park, yesterday, denied recovering 20 bodies from a tunnel near one of the MTN masts at Upper Iweka Road in Onitsha.

Contrary to media reports on the matter, the task force said it found only two bodies in the area.

The officials, who spoke on conditions of anony-mity, also said there was no report of any rape at the time they got to the tunnel. They added that what happened was that they received a report the previous day that dead bodies were lying there, but that when they got there, they found the two bodies.

One of the officials said: "We have been getting reports that hoodlums use the tunnel as a haven. So, on Friday morning, we decided to cut the grass that had overgrown the tunnel and we got some people to assist us.

"As we cut the grass and approached the tunnel, we heard some footsteps running in the tunnel. So we decided to go inside the tunnel.

"Unknown to us, the tunnel has an outlet at the other end after the bridge. Before we could get to that end, they had escaped.

"However, we saw a man with an injured person and when we asked what he was doing at the end of the tunnel, he could not give us a reasonable answer and we handed him over to the Police."
