It is so sad that graduates with NYSC discharge certificate are insulting each other over a job they have not gotten for what? Nairaland is a public site and you may not know if the person you are insulting can offer an assistance to you that nobody else might offer you. Then why all this racketing abuses? Please let's be matured and act accordingly. It is sad that things got this way but let us learn to respect ourselves so that people can respect us. Thanks all. |

158,000 Apply for 1,750 Jobs at NIMC Enrollment Centres 21 Feb 2013 Font Size: a / A Omobola Johnson, Communications Minister Amaka Eze The rising level of unemployment in the country has manifested as over 158,000 graduates responded to the recent call on applicants by the National Identity Management Commission, (NIMC) to register and provide Nigerians with a biometric identity system. NIMC is opening the enrolment centres in its state offices nationwide following the successful certification of the premises based on its adoption of global best practice. Sources close to the commission said that the external consultants who were appointed to manage the recruitment process have submitted the full list of those who applied and are now screening the applicants to have a shortlist for possible interview. According to the sources, a CBT Computer Based Test will be administered to all the short-listed applicants before the principles of merit, federal character, catchment area, spread among others are applied. The preliminary report of the consulting firm also showed that there were between 100 per cent to 1,000 per cent over subscription in each of the over 94 job functions advertised. It was gathered that the number could have been more had those who had difficulties in filling the form been able to do so before the close of the application. The online application system is a test process which was adopted to deliberately test the IT usage and competency of the applicants. Those who are unable to fill the simple online application form might not be able to sit for let alone pass the Computer Based Aptitude Test and so it will be difficult to employ them now that the Commission is in a hurry to kick off the nationwide enrolment process come April 2013. It has also been revealed that successful candidates, who will be employed in batches, will be sent on between two to six weeks training before they are finally deployed. They will also be cleared by the security agencies. Director Corporate Communication of NIMC, Mr. Anthony Okwudiafor, said: "The enrollment centres which now have a minimum of 10 enrolment units each, will be scaled up to over 20 at the time the process will be formally launched. Each local government area is expected to have at least one functional office for enrolment daily. Okwudiafor, who spoke to THISDAY on telephone, also said that plans for the deployment of the Enrolment Units to Local Government areas and also the deployment of Mobile Enrolment Centres nationwide were ongoing and the pilot for these phases would commence March, shortly before the formal launch of the scheme centres, sources have revealed include: a provision for self-registration, provision of alternative sources of power and presence of security personnel in most cases. The NIMC Pre-Enrolment Portal has also been deployed and is being tested. The DG/CEO of NIMC, Mr. Chris Onyemenam, had said the commission was planning for the formal launch of the scheme in the second quarter of 2013. Already the pilot scheme is experiencing a large turnout especially in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Calabar and the state capital, Abuja |
Government are always slugish in their employment... I suspect foul play. CBT is the fastest exam technology ever developed and not only does it mark at the spot, it also uploads the result to the server. Naija Govt wetin dey happen... Make our youths blood no hot o.. E be like say many pass the exam and beat the cut off mark. |
If you log on to the nimc job web page, u will find out dat they placed a warning info for those who are paying money for personnels to help them into nimc... So by Gods grace let's hope they will be credible to their word. But still people, let us excercise patience.. |
Men!!!! Why are we fighting over unspilt milk dat we haven't seen. I know dat the patient dog was stupid for waiting for the bone while other dogs ate the flesh of the bone but in this NIMC case let us be patient. There are hundreds of jobs everyday so apply for them. U don't know which one might end up being ur dream job.NIMC no fit pay pass 60k - 70k, so why not apply for other jobs dan place our hopes only on NIMC job. |

Justyaxx: I really dont understand what you mean pls. I mean is there a way I can know the post I applied for? May be through NIMC portal or something.Ok!!! I also forgot the post I applied for but I searched d list of NIMC vacancies applied for and knew dat it was either enrolment and registration officer(LG) or enrolment and registration officer(state) .so even if I'm asked I wuld just tell them enrolment and registration officer .. Just look through and try and remember. It may help. But through NIMC portal, no option of such and its a risk to go through their help desk becos it may implicate someone. |
Justyaxx: Pls is their a way I can check the post I applied for? Cos I cant remember.Yes... Check my current post on hulkmarcopolo, I highlighted all the 81 positions there. So u can check and verify the one u applied for. Hope it helps. |

Pls read hard... Even if u answer the current affairs, what of the logical reasoning (15 questions), verbal and quantitative nko? Read and don't depend on what questions were asked today or yesterday.. If u observe nairalander's are no longer replying this post becos the success of one depends on another and NIMC is doing well to change the question for fools who will cram and come for the exam. Do ur best and leave the rest to God. May God be ur strenght. |

The highest point in Nigeria is Chappal Waddi at 2,419 m.... But pls don't cram this answers, try and read wide cos ur questions may be different tomorrow. Rely in God's favour and he will surely see u through. Don't cheat.. May God be ur strenght (26th - 28th) exam writers. Some people were caught yesterday and were taken away by the police. And dis led to the daily changing of the questions. NIMC is aware of this postings on nairaland.. Pls be wise. Read hard and smart. |
