There is likely no Island in Akwaibom. It is Rivers State that has Islands so maybe you mean shorelines or riverine communities. An Island must be isolated off the coast and deep in the sea

I went to take photos by the oron River banks when I travelled to oron,then the guys kept shouting "Ami"!"Ami! I never knew women are prohibited from doing so by the banks.

With the arrival of ibom deep seaport, this and so many hidden treasures would be unveiled. However, the state by then, would have more capital for boundary course and developments. I want to personally thank you for your efforts. I was on one of the Islands off Eastern Obolo in December 2015 and was wowed!

But then I felt sad almost immediately.

Why so?

I felt Akwa Ibom could be like Florida.

If only they could forget about crude oil for a second and focus on tourism, which is still an untapped/neglected source of revenue in this part of the world.
