As the Federal Government plans bids for about 15 marginal oil fields in Akwa Ibom, a former manager of Schlumberger, an international oilfield services company, has advised Akwa Ibom government and people to position themselves for the business. Mr Etido Inyang in an exclusive chat with Midweek Pioneer, said, "We cannot allow the external forces only to come and take these prolific fields from ExxonMobil and Total. "I will recommend that our eminent sons and daughters should stand up. Equally, our state government should also be involved as a producer of oil - set up a team that will go for bid rounds for the marginal fields, so that we can have our sons and daughters trained in the production of oil and send them out to work for the people. The chairman of Ibom Power Company Limited (IPCL) who said he "still believes in oil, maintained that the world has not produced anything to challenge the oil and gas yet. If not, you look at 27; 27 has just been signed in for the LNG to sign in. That will enhance the cost of gas in Nigeria; that means, other countries are still in need of gas. "If there's any technology that is taking the place of oil and gas, then it will not be profitable. It's about the only contract Nigeria is signing to be able to go through these doldrums. Even in COVID, they signed that contract. I still believe, yeah, in future, call it 10 to 20 years, there could be a technology that will come up. We know about solar, we know about thermal and others but it is not commercial enough to challenge the production of oil and gas, the former commissioner for special duties also said. He lauded Gov Udom Emmanuel on his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and for setting up a Post COVID-19 Economic Team in the state, saying he was confident that with the number of funding experts in the committee, the state would pluck from the numerous offers by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). "The CBN is doing funding for post COVID-19; funding for farm estate owners and all of that. Somebody needs to take that and drill it down, form a desk where farmers can go and get tutored on how to unpluck these because these are immediate monies that are available, if not other states will take it. We don't have a quota for it. There's no quota for it. It's for the whole country. One state can take advantage of it all depending on the ingenuity of how you tailor your own process, Inyang said. He also suggested training and how people can strategise and take advantage, of the various offers of post COVID-19 in the world. "We need to train people to actually understand what has happened to the world, and then you look at opportunities that are there like what is going on in ICT - now that everybody is doing zoom meetings and all of that. Pluck the minds of the middle class people; that is not about going to Lagos, you stay in Akwa Ibom and do whatever you want to do, he added. Inyang harped the Emmanuel's administration power for all project, saying, "Power for all is not just for people to have power or get the refrigerators, irons in their houses functioning and all of that. No! Power for all is going to make a lot more sense, in terms of what we're able to attract the SMEs of this world into Akwa Ibom; we're going to take advantage of the power for all and create industrial clusters. That is coming right on time where other states are going to have issues of power. People are going to relocate from other states to Akwa Ibom. Whatever we were talking before, this is what we have to do now. The post COVID-19 economic committee should strategise and fast-track for these things to be able to take effect. http://www.pioneernewsonline.com/news/6029/a-ibom-govt-urged-to-take-advantage-of-fg-s-planned-bids-for-oil-fields. Akwa Ibom let do it. Lalaclatat abeg carry am go front page |
Yankee101:am an engineer...Mechanical precisely so you may be right |
phantom24:so if your from the state then where am I from...am also from the state so stop talking nonsense ok |
Guys akwa ibom airport is not federal but a state owned airport.. It is considered a private airport so its can be open anytime the state feel like doing it. Its doesn't need federal approval to function ...if Lagos and Abuja airport commences operation then ibom will be open |
Yankee101:bro I understand what your saying but what those westerners don't give us loan but aid. Those given you loans are IMF or World bank inwhich everybody belongs to....And China loans depends on country and the conditions my brother ok |
phantom24:the problem with wimb like you is you allow emotions to outline your thought . Hmmm I cry for your ignorance but let me help you Ibom deep seaport is located in okposu in ibeno becos of its depths not ibaka. Ibaka was politically motivated incase you want to know if not you can die in your ignorance https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2020/02/akwa-ibom-govt-plans-to-involve-host-communities-in-execution-operation-of-ibom-deep-seaport/amp/ |
PrecisionFx:I nearly ignore you but I won't wish for you to go astray so let me help you. FSO and BOP though are mobile facilities but for this purpose the are stationary. I never said we used BOP or FSO for crude transportation you illiterate wimb. I told you retard its used for the same purpose as a port for crude transfer. For clude transfer to your so call america...there is a bunker called Tanker boat, those are used for the transfer of oil to the americas or Asia. Pls try and get educated ok |
Yankee101:becos the are the only one willing to develop africa and also willing to invest heavily here. The just need room to make a statement that all I see |
Nairalandmonika:How are you so sure he won't build? |
Konquest:Nice one |
Utanisco:amen |
adelaja70:The guy is a malicious virus roaming about |
SegFault:lol your right brother |
Nairalandmonika:My brother that is when feasibility studies are needed. The wanted making that same mistake with Ibaka before it was move to Ibeno and its was name Ibom deep.seaport. Ibaka is also is shower water , you need to drive upward close to cameron to site an ocean while Ibeno is open to the Atlantic ocean. Again people need to know the difference between River, Sea and Ocean. Tho sea and rivers are all drifted ocean inwardly to the land but some people are widely open to the ocean direct than some.people. |
PrecisionFx:Let me help educate a brother. Firstly you can export oil without a port using either BOP or FSO. Secondly ExxonMobil, Total and other companies operating in Akwa Ibom uses this facilities for export awaiting the completion of the Ibom deep seaport. Keys: Berth Operation Platform (BOP) Floatation, Storage and OFFLOADING (FSO) facility. Finally for your advance education the still have FPSO ( floatation, production, storage and again OFFLOADING. OFFLOADING occurs when you transfer product (oil or gas) from one ship or platform to another with transfer / receiving capability. Please am don educating your sorry ass. |
Konquest:brother why are you wasting your energy educating him. Meanwhile ibaka seaport is no longer in existence is Ibom you can read this lines below; First we need to understand one thing, there is difference btw ibaka seaport and ibom deep seaport. Ibaka was akpabio means to extort money the approval was audio and it was to be located in oron .. ibom deep seaport was initiated by the present govt since 2015 and is located in okposu in Ibeno L.G.A. ibaka is dead and dusted while ibom deep seaport is on course and its PPP. One thing I like about aks is the run the state as a state city in Nigeria the don't like weitin for federal governments but it's just that you can't establish a seaport without federal government approvals. I hope this help |
Blackking98:His a retarted fork that's all |
Blackking98:no mind am him no know say na only him the believe his lies |
Blackking98:his so uneducated .. River state has only 6 oil companies...while akwa ibom has 13 oil companies and produces 530k barrel a day. Making it the highest producer of oil and gas in Nigeria seconded by Delta before the old village rivers ok.
|
PrecisionFx:hahaha is clear you are an illiterate lol. Do you know what is BOP or an FSO ? This alone as really expose you. My brother google is your friend..I don't need to teach you everything lol |

Blackking98:Leave the fool he knows nothing , just trying to satisfy his hate on this project. Hateful bigot |
PrecisionFx:Is clear you don't know the difference btw jetty, shallow port , dry port , seaport and a deep seaport. Secondly you seem not to know their similarities... just get educated that all |
PrecisionFx:let just say you're a sad fellow I understand. Now run along you retarded wimb |
PrecisionFx:Which onne port export 2m barrel of oil, how many is nigeria as a country exporting in a day 1.9m barrel and how many exporting port do rivers has 1. Rivers is the 3rd top producer not even second... Akwa Ibom is the highest producer of oil and the export thier oil through qua iboe BOP or Yoho FSO so stop talking nonsense here ok |
PrecisionFx:you senseless goat you can go around confusing yourself with hate that is your fucking buzz. Akwa Ibom state deep seaport is not a federal government project fool. PPP is public private partnerships inwhich the state government is the public so shut your trapped up. |
