There's diversity of sounds in Nigeria, not only Afrobeats(which is a major export). This brings in a competitive market. Anyhow, they influence the genz and females more.

After checking his Wikipedia, it seems like he also does dancehall music, which makes sense because there's no way this song and the other song bounce are Afrobeat.

I'm saying, these are not everyday musicians an average Nigerian would listen to.
Chella inclusive, never heard of him until his viral tiktok sound. These guys barely get the airplays in a normal Nigerian settings.
Though, they have more social media appeals and fanbase. Thats just it. I'm still surprised about their success outside the country.

Not every a lister is an household name. Two different things.


A list is someone who is amongst the most successful, influential or bankable people in a particular field- top tier.


House hold name is someone recognisable by the general public even by people who don't follow their industry... Messi is an household name and a list footballer because people who don't follow football know him or have heard his name. Rodri and van dyke are alist but not house hold names except by those who follow football.

That Ruger doesn't make your style of sound doesn't make him a list or not.


Davido, Wizkid and burna don't make some people's kind of sound of music but that doesn't make them not a list.

An alist can be an household name but not all a list are house hold names.


Summary is not only burna and Co are big guns they are other top tier musicians and Ruger is definitely amongst that list.

He’s a solid B-list celebrity.

The rest are not yet there.
