IslamSteps One Can Follow To Remain Steadfast Upon The Religion Of Islām by Hussein27(op): 4:22pm On Jul 17, 2025
Copied.

May you Stay blessed bi idhinnillah.

🌻 _*Q & A with Dr. Sharafuddeen Gbadebo Rāji (حفظه الله)*_

*Questioner*: What are the steps one can follow to remain steadfast upon the religion of Islām?

*Dr. Sharaf*: Praise be to Allāh. If a person desires to remain firm and steadfast upon the religion of Islām, one of the foremost means is to seeking knowledge of Islām. This is because knowledge is a key factor in helping a person stay upright. When you acquire knowledge and truly understand what Islām teaches, it becomes difficult for you to knowingly act against those teachings. You’ll realize that any action contrary to what you’ve learned will be a proof against you and not in your favour on the Day of Judgment.

Another important step towards steadfastness is to consistently read about the life of the Prophet Muhammad *ﷺ* and the lives of his Companions. Read about how they practiced Islām, the numerous trials they endured, and how — despite those hardships — they never abandoned their religion. Reflecting on their perseverance and commitment strengthens one’s resolve to hold firmly to the Deen.

Similarly, one should regularly recite the Qur’ān, especially with understanding and contemplation. The person who reads the Qur’ān while knowing its meanings will naturally find themselves motivated to abide by its commands and stay away from its prohibitions. Because in the Qur’ān you’ll find what Allāh has commanded us with — and as such, you’ll try your best to implement those commands. You’ll also find what He has prohibited us from — and as such, you’ll strive to abstain from them. When you read about the rewards prepadred for the steadfast and the punishment that awaits those who are not firm upon the religion. All of these will help you to hold on firmly to Islām.

Alongside the Qur’ān, reading the authentic Hadith of the Prophet *ﷺ* is equally essential.

Likewise, read about the lives of our pious predecessors. Read about the challenges they encountered, the difficulties they went through — and yet they did not leave the religion of Islām. All these will assist a person to be firm.

Because really, whatever hardship you face in this world is insignificant compared to losing your religion. If one abandons Islām because of life’s trials, the misfortune of that is upon no one but you yourself.

Another important aid to steadfastness is the constant remembrance of Allāh (Dhikr). Allāh says in the Qur’ān:

*أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ*

“Verily, in the remembrance of Allāh do hearts find rest.” *[Sūrah Ar-Raʿd, 13:28]*

Also, one should frequently make Du’ā (supplication) to Allāh for firmness upon the religion. Because in reality, no one has the power to achieve what they desire, nor can they avoid what they fear, except by the permission of Allāh. Because indeed,

*لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ*

“There is no power and no strength except with Allāh.”

Another important thing is to pay attention to who you surround yourself with — who are your friends? Because those you associate with will determine your firmness or otherwise upon the religion. If you keep good, upright friends, they’ll have a positive impact on you. Whenever you fall short, they'll encourage you towards good. Their company will uplift you and strengthen your practice of Islām.

Moreover, always remind yourself about death. Think about it: if you were to die right now, what will remain of your deeds — good or bad? If you were to die this moment, would you meet Allāh with a hopeful heart or in a state of regret? Each person knows the state of their own soul and actions — you know your deeds.

Look at how many sins a person may have accumulated just from morning till now and this is how he has been living his life. If bad deeds continue to outweigh the good, and you die upon this state — how will you face Allāh on the Day of Judgment? If you constantly reflect on this, it will aid your firmness upon the Deen. Because, truly, all these life struggles and difficulties will come to an end — but what remains for you are your good deeds, determining your eternal fate.

CareerFrom Labourer To Contractor — The Journey That Built Wittyhustle by Hussein27(op): 10:26pm On Jul 12, 2025
Before I ever touched a ceiling, I was just a site labourer.

Running errands. Mixing mortar. Moving blocks on construction sites.

No skill. No clear path. Just one thought in my mind:

Man must survive.

But even that?

It wasn’t where I started.

I first tried to learn fashion design; the plan was to become a tailor.

But hunger and the distance to the shop made it hard to keep up.

Sometimes I’d go there tired, weak, and come back hungrier than I left.

So I left it behind and joined a site crew, hoping I could at least eat and hustle.

Still, I felt empty.

Like I had more inside me, but no tools to bring it out.

That’s when a brother of mine stepped in.

He didn’t just encourage me he connected me to someone who would change my story:

A ceiling installer. Skilled. Focused.

He wasn’t rich, but he had something I wanted; a skill that could stand on its own.

I watched. I learnt. I practiced. I failed.

But I refused to quit.

From lifting boards to measuring angles, from patching mistakes to smoothing corners. I started building confidence with every job.

Fast forward:

Today, I run a full team.

Wittyhustle isn’t just a name — it’s a story of grit, guidance, and growth.

Lessons this journey taught me:

✓Your beginning doesn’t define your end — your hunger does.

✓Skill will open doors that connections can’t.

✓Every block you carry today might be the foundation of your own business tomorrow.

I didn’t get discouraged.

I just stayed faithful to the next right step.

If you're in a tough spot right now — keep going.

You’re not stuck. You’re being shaped.

Stay focused.

Properties4 Signs You’re Getting Scammed By A Ceiling Installer by Hussein27(op): 9:51pm On Jul 11, 2025
Hello there, hopefully this post finds you well.

I'll let you in on a little secret;

Not every installer is a ceiling professional.

Some are just guys with a ladder, a name, and a dangerous level of confidence.

If you’re planning a ceiling installation, watch out for these red flags:

1. They can’t explain their process.

If all they say is “don’t worry, I sabi am,”

Without breaking down steps, timelines, or materials run.

2. Their price sounds too sweet.

If it’s way cheaper than market rate, they’re cutting corners somewhere

Either with the material or with your peace of mind and safety.

3. They insist on 100% payment upfront.

We get it, trust matters. But no structure, no receipt, no agreement?

You’re begging for stories.

4. No samples. No references. No proof of work.

Even a beginner should be able to show something.

If they can’t show past jobs or walk you through their knowledge?

They're incompetent probably looking to elope with your money

There are good installers out there.

But there are also people playing with your home like it’s a practice board.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, demand receipts, and protect your project.

Your ceiling isn't just decoration but a lifetime decision.

And that's a wrap.

Hello there, hopefully this post find you well.

These are what most installers won’t tell you:

Do they show up… or switch off their phone?

At Wittyhustle, we believe trust doesn’t end when the job is done.

That’s why we operate with a clear and honest warranty mindset.

Here’s what that looks like:

✅ No Vanishing Act

Our number works. Our word holds. If you call us after completion — we answer.

We can’t control every storm.

But we can guarantee this:

If we installed it, we stand by it.

Properties3 Mistakes I Made When Starting My Ceiling Biz by Hussein27(op): 9:38pm On Jul 09, 2025
Nobody starts perfect.

When I began my ceiling installation journey, I made mistakes that nearly sabotaged my growth.

Not because I was unserious —
But because I didn’t know better, and I thought hustle alone was enough.

Here are 3 of the biggest lessons I learnt the hard way:

1. Underpricing Myself

I was so hungry for jobs, I priced myself like I had no value.

Clients paid small — and still demanded the world.

Cheap prices attract stressful clients.

2. Saying Yes to Every Job

Some sites were clearly wrong for me.

But I said yes anyway — chasing experience.

All it gave me was stress, health challenge, and strained relationships.

3. Ignoring the Power of Systems

At first, I didn’t have a structured process.

I’d forget material lists, mix up timelines, and lose track of payments.

Now?

Every project follows a process. And that changed everything.

Mistakes will happen.

But growth means reflecting, adjusting, and moving wiser.

If you’re service provider:

My experience should reinforce that you grow better through real life experiences.

So embrace each experience and always learn from them.

And one day you'll realize those experiences were stepping blocks that gets you to where you're now, where you always wanted to be.

And if you’re a homeowner hiring someone for your ceiling:

Ask them what mistakes they’ve made and what they’ve learnt.

The ones who’ve suffered and grown are usually the most careful with your space.

Stay blessed

PropertiesWhy You Should Rethink Your Next Ceiling If It Isn't P.O.P Or Polystyrene by Hussein27(op): 9:01pm On Jul 08, 2025
There are a lot of ceiling types, and every market has its preference.

P.V.C, wood, P.O.P, plasterboard, polystyrene, aluminium panels, etc.

Each has its place.

But when it comes to living spaces where comfort, style, and durability matter, there are really just two worth seriously considering:

–POP and Polystyrene.

Here’s why most other ceiling types fall short:

✓PVC sags due to heat coming off the zinc from the inside (especially under metal roofing).

✓Wood requires constant treatment to fight termites and moisture.

✓Aluminium panels echo sound and trap heat great for offices, not living rooms.

✓Plasterboard is neat but expensive and hard to find in the marketplace.

Now compare that to:

POP

Elegant, classic, customizable… but heavy, messy, and prone to cracking if inadequate materials was used.

Polystyrene:

Lightweight, clean finish, moisture-resistant, cools the space naturally.

So before you rush into “what’s trending,” ask yourself:

Is this ceiling going to serve me, or stress me?

The best materials are not always the trendiest.

Sometimes the best choice is the one that does the work quietly and lasts.

And that's a wrap.

By the way, before you go:

PropertiesWhat Developers Use In 50+ Homes That You Don’t Know by Hussein27(op): 10:19pm On Jul 07, 2025
Let me tell you something many homeowners don’t realize:

Developers don’t guess. They optimize.

They’re not emotionally attached to trends.

They don’t care about hype.

They care about cost, speed, finish, and durability.

And guess what many of them are quietly doing now?

They’re switching to polystyrene ceilings especially in new estates, duplex clusters, and short-let properties.

Why?

Lower site disruption

— Projects move faster = faster returns.

Uniform finish

— Every unit gets the same high-quality look.

Less maintenance

— No callbacks for cracks or sagging.

Cooling advantage

— Less complaints about heat upstairs.

Budget control

— Material cost is consistent and manageable across multiple buildings.

These developers understand one thing most homeowners overlook:

A ceiling isn’t just decoration; it’s a long-term investment.

So next time someone says just give me POP because that’s what I’m used to,
ask them:

“What are the smart builders using?”

You’ll be surprised.

And that's a wrap.

PropertiesWhy I Abandoned POP For Polystyrene (they Called Me Lazy) by Hussein27(op): 10:23am On Jul 07, 2025
When I started installing a polystyrene ceiling more than a pop ceiling, I was mocked.

Get told I was being lazy and that I didn’t want to do real work.

Even some fellow artisans called it lazyman job.

But I’ve learned something over time:

~People fear what they don’t understand.

Here’s why I love installing Polystyrene ceiling more and not just for me, but for practical home owners:

✓Time matters.

POP takes time to dry. Projects drag. People get frustrated.

✓Cleanliness matters.

POP creates plenty mess and splatters.

Polystyrene is lighter, less messier and easy to clean, faster.

✓Durability matters.

Too many POP jobs start cracking before the house even warms up.

✓ You matter.

Most homeowners today want peace of mind, not a ceiling that flakes after one year or less

So I chose to work smarter, not harder and give people something that holds up not just in looks, but in performance.

They can laugh.

But while they’re still casting and patching their hard work,

I’m delivering to home owners a ceiling that works, lasts, and brings peace.

PropertiesWhy You Should Choose Quality Over Cheap — Especially In Nigeria’s Economy by Hussein27(op): 11:57pm On Jul 06, 2025
Choose Quality Over Cheap

Truth be told

The cost of everything is high.
Food. Cement. Paint. Labour. Everything.

So when someone offers to do your ceiling for small money, it usually sounds tempting.

Especially when your building project already don chop your savings.

But here’s the trap:

Cheap work isn’t cheap.
It’s just delayed punishment and more spendings.

In today’s Nigeria:

That affordable ceiling material might not survive one rainy season.

That rushed ceiling job might start cracking by the time you paint.

That installer you underpaid may not even show up to finish the job.

Then you’ll start again with double the stress and double the cost.

We’ve seen it too many times.

People calling us after they’ve wasted money and lost peace of mind.

It’s not about spending big.

It’s about spending smart with people who know what they’re doing and won’t compromise your home to save ₦20k.

Nigeria’s inflation is real.
But so is long-term regret.

Don’t build your home on shortcuts.

Build it with clarity and your peace of mind intact.

PropertiesWhat To Know Before Installing POP Or Polystyrene Ceiling by Hussein27(op): 11:36am On Jul 06, 2025
Before you buy materials...
Before you call any installer...
Before you send that deposit...

Read this.

Because once that ceiling starts going up, reversing a bad job is costly.

Here’s what you should know before installing POP or polystyrene ceilings:

1. Both don't work for all environments.

If you live in a humid, coastal, or leaky-roof zone, POP might crack or stain fast.
Polystyrene performs better in moisture-prone homes.
PVC is a good choice too moisture-prone areas but not for long term

2. The design affects room airflow and lighting.

A poorly designed ceiling can make your room hotter or block your light flow.

A good installer knows how to balance design and ventilation.

3. Cheap materials will embarrass you later.

That sweet deal you’re chasing might flake, sag, or fall apart after 6 months.

What saves money upfront often steals more later if you patronize - I can do it cheaper - labour

4. Never skip proper framing and curing.

Especially with POP, weak framing or rushed finishing = cracks. Every. Single. Time.

5. Always ask for a work process or step-by-step plan.

If they can’t explain how they’ll handle your ceiling, they have no business being on your site.

This is your space.

And ceilings are not something you redo often.

So before you hire, buy, or decide — ask questions.

The right installer will not be angry. They’ll be glad.

And that's a wrap.

About it flammability, read my article about it here on Nairaland. I give my honest, no nonsense break down on it👇

On durability, it is non biodegradable due its synthetic properties, so it's more durable compare to regular pop ceiling

Although pop ceiling is quite durable too, but if it get exposed to moisture it will disintegrate fast which is not so with polystyrene because of its moisture resistant properties.

PropertiesWittyhustle Polystyrene Ceiling Installation Process (step-by-step) by Hussein27(op): 10:50am On Jul 05, 2025
Too many ceiling jobs start with vibes and end with regret.

You see cracks after two months.

Materials look different from what was promised.

And the installer? Ghosted with your balance.

That’s not how to go.

Here’s a simple breakdown of how we at Wittyhustle handle a typical polystyrene or POP ceiling project from start to finish; no gimmicks, no guessing:

Step 1: Site Inspection & Measurements

We come to your site especially if it is within our vicinity, take exact measurements, assess the condition of the roofing, and discuss your preferred design.

Step 2: Quote & Clarity

You get a clear breakdown; materials, labor, design complexity, timeline.

No hidden charges. If we say ₦300k, it’s ₦300k.

Step 3: Mobilization & Setup

Once you approve, we mobilize. That includes material sourcing, transport, and site prep.

Our team sets up with purpose for project.

Step 4: Finishing & Detailing

This is where the work happens. Sharp edges. Smooth lines. No sag. No stains. And no corner cutting.

Step 5: Site Cleaning & Review

We don’t leave debris behind. And we walk you through every inch before we pack up.

It’s not just installation — it’s a system.

Because you who trust us with their home deserve a team that upholds that trust.

And that's a wrap.

PropertiesMy First Client Didn’t Pay Right — The Lessons I Learnt by Hussein27(op): 10:31am On Jul 04, 2025
My first ceiling job? It shook me.

I was excited. Hungry to prove myself.

The client sounded serious.

So I charged what I thought was fair.

I showed up early.
Worked late.
Took no shortcuts.

When I'm done, they smiled. Said it was beautiful.

Then underpaid me.

No fight. No argument. Just pain.

I went home quiet that day.

But that experience taught me more than any training ever could.

Here’s what I learnt:

✓Don’t undercharge just to get the job; the client will still treat you like you’re cheap.

✓Doing good work doesn’t always mean you’ll be respected until you respect yourself first.

✓Reputation builds slowly but integrity lasts longer than ego.

That first job didn’t make me money.
But it made me a business.

Wittyhustle became a name I swore to protect.

A promise to never let excitement overshadow self-worth.

I still work with passion — but now, I also work with boundaries.

If you’re just starting out, here’s my advice:

Don’t chase the money. Chase the standard.

The right clients will come. And when they do, you’ll be ready.

And that's a wrap. If you learnt a thing or two please be sure to put it into action.

It’s Lexus + Toyota DNA — which means you're not visiting the mechanic every other week. This isn’t just a car, it’s a loyal iron buddy. Although parts maybe on the high side but are easy to find , and sure enough maintenance is light because Toyota, the parent use premium raw materials.

You should want It Because:

• It looks clean and mature without trying too hard.

• It’s affordable luxury that doesn't scream "I’m trying to impress."
PropertiesIs Polystyrene Really Fire-resistant? Click To Find Out by Hussein27(op):
On surface level:

Polystyrene is NOT fireproof.

But that doesn’t mean it’s a hazard waiting to happen.

Here’s the truth most people don’t get:

✓Polystyrene is flammable in its raw plain state.

But when installed with proper finishing using fire-resistant pop cement and putty-based screeding paint it becomes inflammable and protected from catching fire or spreading flames.

Think of it like wood in your roofing:

Wood burns too. But does that stop people from roofing their homes with timber?

No at all.

What actually matters:

✅ Proper screeding thickness

✅ Fire-retardant paint

✅ Electrical wiring that’s professionally installed

So yes — it can melt under more than 100 degrees heat-temperature. I mean nothing can withstand that extreme heat except maybe iron.

But with correct installation, you’ve got nothing to fear.

Because as with any material, it’s not just what you use

It’s how you use it that matters.

And that's a wrap.

By the way,before you go:

Whether you’re building from scratch or upgrading your home, remember:

Your home deserves more than just ordinary — it deserves purpose.

At Wittyhustle, we bring function, finesse, and lasting finish in every Polystyrene ceiling we install.

PropertiesRe: Why Is POP Getting Replaced By Polystyrene by Hussein27(op): 8:33pm On Jul 03, 2025
was the ceiling choice for most homes. Stylish. Common. Big man status.

But gradually, quietly — more people started asking questions.

–Why does my POP ceiling crack after just a few months due to exposure to moisture?

–Why do I have to repaint?

–Why did I have to move out for installation to finish?

And most importantly:

id4sho:
How about fire outbreak, is it fire resistant Boss
Yes in naked form

But once we use pop cement to suspend it from the inside and pop cement again and Screeding paint to screed it from the outside, it's then fire-resistant like the regular pop ceiling

Kind regards
