Julius Agwu, has been hospitalized in the UK. The comedian who was due to perform at his show, Crack Your Ribs UK Edition yesterday August 28th, couldn't make it after doctors insisted on keeping him in the hospital for observation.
According to sources closes to the comedian, he went to the hospital on Friday August 26th for routine checkup and was grounded by his doctors who felt he needed to get some rest. His hospitalization has nothing to do with brain tumour. He broke broke down from stress from planning his show and his doctors wanted him to rest.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann have both been named in a 10-man shortlist for UEFA's Best Player in Europe award.

European football's governing body released the list on Monday, with Ronaldo the early favourite to scoop the gong after playing a key role in both Portugal's Euro 2016 triumph and Real Madrid winning the Champions League.

After all opposition, criticism, protest, threats, and advice, the board of the Nigeria Football Federation has settled for a foreign coach for the Nation team.

The NFF will name either Frenchman Paul de Guen or Tom Sainfield of Belgium as the new technical adviser. Their immediate task is to qualify the Super Eagles for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Coming on the heels of Samson Siasia’s failure to qualify the Super Eagles for the Nations Cup in Gabon, the new coach will have a tough task ahead.

I do not believe we need a foreign coach at the period when the President Mohammadu Buhari has made it clear that Nigerians must look inwards for her solution. He even re-echoed his position that the era of free money is gone during a visit to Zamfara state. The situation is so precarious that Team Nigeria has not had its money for the usual Olympic jamboree released. Although, the money was said to have been approved, it may not be released until few days to the Rio 2016 Olympic. So, if the government could turn its back on the Olympics, who will give a hoot if an Oyinbo coach the government never wanted gets paid or not.

I can bet that no amount of advice would force the NFF to have a change of heart about this Colonial mentality of having an oyinbo coach even though we are in a change era, but are they prepare for the backlash that would follow his failure to meet the expectations of Nigerians? If they owe local coaches they can appeal to his emotions to continue to work for free or use subtle threat to keep him on track, owing a foreign coach would bring international embarrassment to the Country.

What purpose would the hiring of a foreign coach serve Nigeria? Can he even qualify the eagles for the World cup? If per adventure he does, is he capable of winning the World cup? Can he bring any fundamental changes to the growth of Nigerian football? Can he effect changes that will give our Football new values? Can our league benefit from his technical knowledge? Would he be ready to work without salary? Can he cope with our current economic realities that may make honoring away matches as tough as KILIMANJARO MOUNTAIN? Does he understand our peculiar nature of not planning? Would he be ready to travel to Zaria, Minna, Kutuwenji, Ogbomosho, and other remote places to watch the abundant talents that abound in our great Country? Can he cope with the vociferous fans, who wants instant result or would he capitulate like Oliseh who could not bear the heat in the kitchen of our football? These are questions that seek answer

According to statement from NYSC released on their official
Facebook page, awaiting otodons should reprint their
Green-Card. Read full statement below..
Those with two different callup numbers are advised to re-
print their slip (greencard) next week Monday or Tuesday to
ascertain the correct one. Those who couldn't print their
greencard was because NYSC technical team are working
on that aspect and should pls checkback on Monday or
Tuesday to print. All is well, little patience is what is
needed.

I am sure by now most of us will have finish the NYSC
registration and have gotten the new call up number by
SMS, if you have not just relax you will get it. Now back to
the reason you are here, i noticed some of us paid the 3000
naira for the call-up letter , and you were probably debited
but requested you pay again. This is what you will do, rush
down toyour phone and open the alert message you
received from your bank, you will see a 16 digit pin starting
with 2016***, copy out the number and go to the Nysc
website (nysc.gov.ng), and click on payment status, you
will be prompted to enter the16 digit Transaction ID, enter it
and it will display your full name, now click on Query
interswitch , you will be directed to where you will print your
reciept.. Don't forget to leave a comment below and also
your questions..

Hello buddies!!
So, I’ve been looking forward to NYSC for quite a while, had
some sort of extraordinary ginger. I even started a group on
whatsapp and added friends that I knew will be serving in
March Batch A 2016. Registration started on the 8th of
February and something new was added…Choosing of 4
preffered States (of your supposedly choice). One of my
friends went to registered quite early and unfortunately the
NYSC portal is yet to be open for registration, she informed
the group members and we all felt relaxed, a minutes later
one of the group member informed us that its opened, I was
so happy that I forgot to brush my teeth ( my body they
shake).
On getting to cafe I met fellow awaiting otondons I had to
pick number, I started registering for the first stage which
was actually very easy for me I received the verification
mail and Nysc server started acting funny (404 error). Some
minutes later the server continue going and I continued with
my registration, on getting to the last part I couldn't choose
the 4 states I wanted, I had to opted for 2 states (Kaduna
and Abuja) I clicked on submit and that was it..
On getting to my dashboard I saw a message which reads
"You have not yet been mobilised because valid details
were not sent from your institution. However, your
institution has been notified. If rectify you are likely to be on
stream 2" I was like shooo after all this stress I will still go
to school to lodge complain, chai, I left the cafe and went to
the bank to pay. On getting back from the bank to the cafe
I checked my mail and my transaction pin was inbox to me
by "sender" NYSC, I input the pin and I printed my popularly
acclaimed "Green Card", i thank God my Call-Up number
was on it, I was happy a little bit ( but my heart still dey
beat fast).
I went to school the next day, on getting to the DSA's office
i showed them the message and my Green card, the man
attending to me response was like "wetin dey do U, U see
call up number u know happy abegi commot" As far as u
have your Call-Up number the problem is from NYSC end
and not from school. I believed the man and woman and
went to the nearest cafe to check and found no error I.e,(no
message). A girl that sitting beside me just showed me her
Call-Up letter, I was like ahn ahn where u see am, she just
gave me the link, as I input the link I saw my call up letter. I
was so so happy, unknowingly that NYSC will still claim
that there site has been hacked bla bla bla, giving excuses
just to cover their gafee.
All in all it was a stressed and great experience, but why
online if students would still go through rigorous, ramrod,
strict, flinty process just to register.. Na wa for NYSC
ooooo...

The attention of the NYSC Management has been drawn to
the activities of some hackers sending messages
requesting prospective Corps members to go and check
their states of deployment online. They refer their victims to
a link and ask them to enter their login details as well as
choices made during their online registration. Management
wishes to inform prospective Corps members that posting
to states of deployment has not commenced; but will be
done at the appropriate time in line with our laid down
processes. The so-called “link” being sent to prospective
Corps members is handiwork of cyber criminalsand should,
therefore, be disregarded.
Prospective Corps members are particularly warned not to
make payments for posting or change of posting as that is
clearly the motive of the cyber criminals. Management will
inform prospective Corps members as soon as their posting
letters are ready forprinting online or delivery to their
various institutions of graduation. While assuringthe public
that the situation is fully under control, we shall continue to
take measures to safeguard the integrity of the Mobilization
process.
