Business3 Tips On How To Become Successful In Life With Your Own Ideas by hypetrak(op): 7:20am On Feb 05, 2016
Take a good look at successful people around you today. Take a good look at those individuals being celebrated for their activities and deeds. Take a good look at those successful businesses around you. Something is obvious: It All Begins With An Idea!

Some ideas seem to be so simple and you can't but wonder: 'Why hasn't any one thought of them before?'

Some seem so 'strong', that you can't but also wonder: 'How could someone have thought of this?'

Nevertheless, for you also to be successful, you actually need an idea that will make you indulge in things that would make you successful.

Indeed, before you can be celebrated, you need an idea that would evolve into some acts that would get people baffled. Thus, you need an idea. And since those great ideas don't come on command, let us talk about some insights that can help you come up with your own great ideas, and be applauded for them.

Look Closely At What Is Troubling You

In the entrepreneurship world, you discover that the success of many entrepreneurs lies on the fact that they are providing a solution to a common problem.

Meaning, those ideas often begin with a problem that needs to be solved.

And, in case you don't know, they don't usually come when you sit lazily around, wasting time with frivolities and pleasures. Instead, they tend to reveal themselves while you're hard at work on something else. Thus, keep yourself busy!

Yes, start your brainstorming with problems that you are personally invested in.

Building a business; building a brand; or coming up with an invention isn't too easy. Thus, you actually need to have a relentless dedication that comes from personal passion.

You see, great ideas and innovations come from executing your idea in a different way other than how every other person does.

You know, as humans are often faced with obstructions hindering their desires, each individual will want to bring out a solution to grant them their desires. And many times, there is always a 'usual way' of doing it. Thus, a great way to get splendid ideas is to look outside your immediate society to see how others are solving similar problems.

Many successful innovations you see today in America and Europe were inspired by what their founders saw in Africa. Similarly, many things you see being done by many African countries today are being inspired by what we see the whites doing in their own continents.

Those innovators look at how the solution flows in other continents, amidst those of different culture and beliefs other than theirs. They gaze at the similarities and differences of things and approach making it work amidst their own people.

What you should know is that every individual (including you) have their creative side. However, many of us tend to ignore our creative sides until we really need it. And when you are ready to look at things from a perspective which many people around you are looking, then something different is coming into your mind.

Whenever you are faced with practical problems, always take note of them.

Whenever you desire using a product that you can't find anywhere, take note. Whenever you desire a service that you can't find anywhere, take note.

Then ask yourself 'Is this a problem i can solve? And yes, you can go around to see (do research) if there are people who need similar solutions.

And don't forget, as said previously, the solution might exist in faraway continents. You can simply gaze at how the product or service works there, and bring a brand that will soothe folks around your own immediate surroundings.

Search For Better Way To Get Things Done

Whenever you use a service that frustrates you, don't just keep ranting and hissing. Ask, 'What is this lacking; and how can it be fixed?'

Whenever you use a product that didn't fully satisfy your need, instead of ranting continuously, if you need ideas to bring about great innovations, simply ask yourself 'Which better way can this be done?

Remember you don't even need to be a manufacturer before you can bring an idea of a classic idea that will make you a millionaire.

Now That You've Got An Idea

So, what next? You know, we typically think these great ideas as the thing that sets these great innovators on the path of success. However, an idea is only an idea (and unknown) until you actually do something with it.

Now, my advice for you is; Capture the idea; Grab the idea; and keep running with the idea (irrespective of the hindrances you will surely encounter)

Does this makes sense to you? Let me hear from you via comments.

Celebrities7 Untold Truths About The Nigerian Music Industry by hypetrak(op): 9:14pm On Feb 04, 2016
Peep some of the points I’ve succinctly outlined below and tell me if you already didn’t think them too.

1. Ice Prince

If anybody can mention 5 popularly hot songs on which Ice Prince laced his rapper prowess, I’m talking bars only, no singing, then I might consider retracting this thought. I mean, how can a rapper’s popular songs be the ones where he’s busy making cacophonious melodies? Honestly, Ice Prince trips me the way and manner which he runs his shxt but he seriously needs to have a handle on it.

2. Olamide

I understand that my musical choices can sometimes be far above the obtainable standard in the Nigerian music industry but regardless, there’s a global culture for music be it hip-hop or rap, R&B, alternative, classical and bla bla bla. Thank the stars that Nigerians have found a means to best suit everything they now do under the ‘afro’ context, it still doesn’t suffice… in my opinion though, especially when I think of where Olamide can be classified. Do we really want to call that thing he does, rapping? I rest my case.

3. Lil Kesh

I honestly thought talent (skill + hardwork) and presence were the major factors for one to succeed, or better still, gain due recognition. But dramatic turn out of events at the Headies awards stage on new year’s made me start to entertain thoughts otherwise. The obvious question is not whether Lil Kesh is talented, yet it seems the powers that be kept hitting a road block of ‘buts’ every time his izzue was set on cruise control. It may have much to do with the fact that this talent that we so speak of, cannot be in relation to an actual music art, i.e rapping. I may not be one to speculate but personally, I’ve had enough of this near funny yet phonic foolishness that their pac have become admirably famed for.

4. Tiwa Savage

There’s this popular adage that says when the breeze blows, the fowl’s behind will be exposed. The interpretation is quite lucid and suffice to say it’s an expression of best fit for what has now become Tiwa Savage’s music career. I was one of the #SavageSoldiers who stayed rooting for her comeback with a big bang so you can imagine my joy when she announced the surprise album. I am not so ecstatic for her anymore as her album was a mirror to how badly she has given in to pressures from the industry. Afterall it is not by force to be on top.
Unless Mr Billz likes it that way :-p

5. MI Abaga

It’s impressive that M.I (still) has a legion of fans who are ready to stake their lives over a stained glory that is now fast blotted out. So if I go ahead to say M.I is not (or rather, no longer) Nigeria’s king of rap, you’ll agree with me right? Even if you don’t, shall I remind you that Jesus Christ hasn’t ever stopped being Lord? So why then should we make an excuse for M.I when his case afterall isn’t any different? I’m shamed by how kids he inspired have risen far above the ranks where he now settles for less average. M.I has gotta stop being a lazy bastid!

6. Wizkid

Wizkid’s music has experienced a terrible downward slope from the boy who made it right off the ghetto streets of Ojuelegba and crossed onto the paved walkways of Wall Street to becoming the certified face of the Nigerian music industry who now sings absolute rubbish. And even without any regrets whatsoever, Wizkid has failed consistently in delivering songs whose lyrics border on simple common sense. Yet it appears that the potency in his magic potion is ever so strong that we never see him past the galaxy where his star shines the most. How long more before the effect finally wanes though? I suggest boy Wizzy gets a firm lid on his shxt.

7. D’Prince

D’Prince really is not that bad a guy. Very less than often, he shows flash signs of genius and his ovation can sometimes be the loudest when we applaud. But there’s also that satisfactory feeling you get when you use a switch button to turn off the sound of something that no longer gives comfort – this equally represent the very one and same D’Prince. Pathetic, right?
Bless God for the incredible person that is Don Jazzy, he’s brought and kept his kid brother in the music spotlight using savoury tunes that have infectiously stuck in our brains like soft gum on a very bad hair day. Thus, save for those rare moments of brilliance, I can’t categorically state whether D’Prince needs to stop, or be stopped! And so based on this inconclusive premise, I’ve decided to label him a white lie in the mix.

Career“my Boss Makes Me Feel Like An Idiot.” by hypetrak(op): 3:02pm On Feb 03, 2016
Welcome, friends.
Their story is almost always the same: a once-confident worker is suddenly thrust into a new situation with an intimidating boss, and instead of rising to the challenge, a downward spiral ensues of little mistakes, negative self-talk, more fumbling, obsessive rumination and complete loss of confidence. Leading to a search on the internet to figure out what to do.

I know it might be hard to believe, but almost everyone I know has had this kind of experience at some point in their career. The arrogant boss, the feeling of being singled out, the intimidation and negative self-talk, the jealousy towards all the suck-ups around you – it’s all part of the strange hazing known as Your Career Development.

So how does one handle a boss who makes you feel stupid? Here are some suggestions, from an expert.

1. Dial Down Those Negative Thoughts! Your first order of business is to manage yourself, and quick. This negative self-talk is spinning out of control, and your other half (the real, better you) must step in and take charge, immediately. The thing is, you probably build things up in your own mind much greater than the situation calls for, and it is rarely as bad as your inner loser is telling you it is. Try not to generalize the negativity to your entire life.
When those negative voices start taking over, give them the boot with positive affirmations. Remind yourself of all the great things you have accomplished. Get with someone who will tell you how great you are. Or, do what I do, which is to furiously write them down into a notebook that no one will ever see. Then I go back a few weeks later to look at what I wrote, and think, “Ha, Ha, wasn’t that funny how I got so worked up over that little thing!”

2. It’s not you! Some people are just plain mean. But in my experience, if you are feeling the chill from an intimidating boss, then others up and down the organization are, too. And it usually comes back to haunt the bad boss later on. Hold your head up, and give it time. Keep showing up every day and looking for opportunities to shine. If you can, find an ally outside of your boss’s realm, in another department, who you can appreciate your smarts and who can back you up in the future.

3. Surround yourself with encourages. Time to get out of your self-loathing cocoon. When you are feeling stupid, it’s usually easier to run away and hide under a rock – or cubicle. But instead, take initiative and get support and advice from others. Start meeting with people you like and admire at work and tell them you are looking to improve your performance – ask them what they think you can do to do better, how to learn and grow. You’ll be surprised at how many helpful people are actually out there, if you ask.
If you can, get a personal coach. You need someone to keep you line, to tell you that you can do it, and not to give in. Is there a friend, a confidante? A shrink? (Seriously, therapy can be life-altering). A mentor would be even better. Go out there and start networking.

4. Find your voice. Believe it or not, your confidence level emanates from your voice, and people around will respond to it. If you feel stupid, usually it shows up first in your tone of voice – and then translates to the rest of your body. Sometimes your commitment to overcome will have to precede your attitude. No matter how you feel, act confident. Dress confident. Walk confident. Talk confident. Find one or two things that you can have a legitimate opinion on, and speak up about it.

5. Do one thing really well. Focus on just one task or accomplishment that you can successfully complete in a competent manner. This will give you something to point to that will allow you to mentally tell yourself that you really are not stupid, that you are learning and growing. It can also be something that you refer others to when they are questioning your abilities.

6. Get Direct Feedback. Okay, here’s a crazy idea: ask your boss what you can do to improve your performance. If your boss is so all up in your face, why not be proactive and face it head on? Pull together any documentation you have that speaks to your performance – evaluations, reviews, examples of superior work done, so that you have an arsenal of hard data which references your good work. Take an honest stock of your strengths and weaknesses. Get a development plan together for your boss to be part of the program, so that he or she can buy into your growth as a person and as a professional.

7. Get another job. You may be in the wrong position, with the wrong boss. When all else fails, and time doesn’t help, then maybe it’s just time to look for a new job, or a new boss.

CareerMy Boss Is Asking Whether I’m Not Interested In My Job / 3 Work Mistakes You Don by hypetrak(op): 2:47pm On Feb 01, 2016
I am currently facing an issue with my boss. When I make a mistake at work or don’t do a task perfectly, my boss has, on more than one occasion, brought this up in our conversation, asking, “Are you not interested in your work?”

How can I explain to him in a polite way that his opinion cannot be further away from the truth, and that I am only human and I do slip up every now and then?

Despite me trying (and giving) my very best at delivering my work, he has never once said anything positive but rather jumps at every available opportunity of undermining my confidence and morale, in the event of a careless mistake. What is he trying to do or imply here? Does he want me to leave on my own by dropping such hints?

There are two possibilities here:

The first possibility is that your boss is an overly critical jerk who only criticizes and never praises and who expects an unreasonable level of perfection from people.

The second possibility is that you actually are making too many mistakes, and your boss is expressing a reasonable concern. While it’s absolutely true that everyone makes mistakes now and then, there’s also such a thing as too many mistakes, and it’s possible that that’s what’s going on here.

Either way, the thing to do in situations like this is to talk about it head-on. Sit down with your boss and say something like this: “You’ve asked me several times if I’m not interested in my work. I certainly am, but I’m concerned that you’re asking the question. What’s going on that’s making you worried that I’m not committed to the work?”

If he says that it’s because you’re making mistakes, then say, “I do sometimes make mistakes, and I can’t promise that I won’t ever make one again, because I’m human. However, I do really want your feedback. If I’m making more mistakes than people generally do in my role, I want to know that. Is your sense that I’m not working at the same level as others who do similar work?”

You can also ask, “What’s your assessment of how I’m doing overall? Do you see these mistakes as isolated incidents, or do you have larger concerns about my work?” While you may be concerned about what his answer will be, it’s far better to hear it and know where he’s coming from than not to know.

Have this conversation at a time when you’re calm and not upset about the criticism, and be open to hearing what he has to say. Don’t focus on defending yourself; your goal here is to hear his take on the situation.

Once you have that conversation, you’re going to be better equipped to figure out how to proceed, whether it’s concluding that your boss is just a jerk whose feedback isn’t worth much (in which case you have to either resign yourself to that or decide to look for another job), or deciding that he has reasonable concerns (in which case you either redouble your efforts to minimize mistakes or you decide that you’re not a great fit with the job). But it all starts with talking to him straightforwardly rather than trying to read his words for subtext.

3 Work Mistakes You Don’t Realize You’re Making

Some mistakes are easy to recognize – you usually know if you flubbed a presentation or upset a client. But others fly beneath the radar, and those are often more dangerous, since you don’t know that you’re making them. Here are three bad mistakes you might be making at work – and they’re common enough that chances are good that you’re guilty of at least one of these!

1. Not doing what you say you’ll do. Otherwise known as “follow-through,” this has the potential to destroy your reputation with your boss and coworkers. And it’s not just about whether you deliver on the big stuff, like a report or new product. You probably (hopefully!) do deliver on that stuff, or you’d be out of a job. But what about the smaller things? When you promise to send a networking client an article that you think they’ll like, do you do it? When you tell your boss that you’re not sure of the status of Project X, but you’ll find out and let her know, do you do it? A lot of people don’t keep these sorts of commitments – and it does get noticed. You might not lose your job over it, but you’ll definitely create a reputation for being unreliable – and lose the chance to build a reputation for doing what you say you’ll do, which has some serious currency in the work world.

2. Not getting clear on your priorities and acting accordingly. If you’re like many people, you have a constant flow of “stuff” coming at you throughout the day – dozens of email messages, issues to research, small tasks to take care of, people dropping by your office with questions on a project, etc. With a steady flow of demands coming at you, it’s easy to lose sight of the most important things you’re there to get done, and then reach the end of the day – or week! – without having had time to work on your own biggest priorities. In fact, the biggest time management mistake most people make is spending their time on what’s immediately at hand or on what’s most comfortable to work on, rather than what’s most important.
Instead, figure out what one or two items are most important to accomplish on any given day and make those your priorities. Whenever possible, do them first before other things have the chance to intervene. The details will fill in where there’s room.

3. Unresponsiveness. People who are unresponsive rarely think of themselves as unresponsive, but if you don’t answer all your emails and return all your phone calls, you’re guilty as charged. What’s more, you need to answer them in a timely way. So if, say, you wait to respond until you have an answer – even if that takes two weeks – you’re going to appear unresponsive to the other person, who is expecting at least an acknowledgement and a “I’m working on it.”

If you recognize yourself in any of these three bad habits, let this be your wake-up call to take control and put a stop to it!

RomanceWhy Men Cheat ?? by hypetrak(op): 2:45pm On Jan 27, 2016
Last week I wrote about why women cheat and I think I should balance it, So here is why men cheat.
There are reasons galore why men pull wool over the eyes of their wives. Oftentimes, it's out of spite and neglect, while the other times, it's because they feel they will never be caught. What makes men cheat? Dr Kamal Khurana, relationship counselor, dug through past research on male infidelity, and has even counseled couples and has arrived at the conclusion that most answers are from the wife's point of view. Here, some of his findings:

1. Disturbance in the marriage as the primary reason
When there are regular fights at home with his wife, which are left unresolved, a pattern sets in wherein he continues to be unhappy and 'disturbed'. In this kind of a scenario, either he can fight or he can flee. When he looks for an affair, he is looking to flee from dealing with the issues in the marriage, and be comfortable with that 'other person'. It is telling oneself that the problems do not affect anyone and life can continue in a better way with a parallel support.

2. Cheating men report boredom led to the affair
Some men may find the routine of a married life to be tedious and dull. These men find it easier to shift dominance or primacy to another relationship and feel the spark outside to be a thrilling option; instead of finding ways of charging their marriage. It becomes present moment for gratification versus the hard job that they will have to do in their marriage to resolve an issue. The extra-marital relationship provides them with a readymade and fresh experience, which is appealing enough to take the risk.

3. Cheating men love to experiment sexually
Sex has always been and will always be an integral part of a marriage. While some men are quite content spending the rest of their lives having sex with the same wife for many years, others prefer to experiment more as a need, rather than as an option. They want to sleep with many women, many times, and therefore do not think twice before an extra-marital alliance. It perhaps makes them feel sexually powerful and more adept than others.

4. Cheating men are emotionally dissatisfied
When their wives are too busy with their own lives, working or bringing up children or even looking after in-laws and parents, emotionally, men are left high and dry. But men are emotionally driven beings too. They want their wives to show them that they're appreciated, and they want women to understand how hard they're trying to get things right. Most men consider it unmanly to ask for a pat on the back, which is why their emotional needs are often overlooked. Sometimes the couple may not be compatible so however much the wife may do, the man will always find something to complain about.
It may also happen that the woman he cheats with is his co-worker or boss, someone who praises him, looks up to him, and compliments his efforts. That's another reason why it's so critical that he feel valued at home.

5. Cheating men have a history of EMR
Some men, in their childhood, may have witnessed cheating in their parent's marriage. This somewhere gives them a message that it is okay to cheat, even though deep inside they know this is wrong. All of us learn from our parents, so taking the risk is good enough. This acquired learning also happens through cheating resorts taken by elder siblings, neighbours, peer group and everybody who has been impacted. Sometimes as teenagers and young adults, some men have had multiple relationships, these men either intentionally or accidentally end up going back to their ex-girlfriends. The other lot goes back to their past style of having multiple relationships. It is well said, what a mind thinks, achieves. So there are females also who are either consciously or unconsciously looking for such men.

6. Cheating men have wives who cheat
Men also take revenge with their cheating wives, by having multiple relationships themselves. Even if their wives are guilty and come accept their extra-marital relationships, some men continue with their tricks. This is mostly done by men who don't want to forgive their spouses.

7. Cheating men think it to be 'divorce'
Some men are willfully adulterous and use it as a means for acquiring divorce. The law also considers adultery as a fair ground for the wife to seek a divorce. The man is cheating openly and is in a non-receptive mood, taking the wife's feelings of frustration to an all-time high. Although this percentage is less but it is there.

8. Cheating men need to be needed
When men feel that they are not needed by their wife anymore, they look out for some other woman, who can understand them and make them feel special. As an obvious outcome of a new relationship, they get that feeling from the other woman. And suddenly when they are showered with attention, which they haven't received in a very long time in their marriage, they toss their hands in the air and get deep into the new hot and happening relationship.
