Rawani: Thats because Jonathan never had the political will to fight corruption.
As for the immunity...
ABUJA—THE Conference Committee of the National Assembly on Constitution Review yesterday retained the immunity clause for the President and the Governors which was originally in the Nigerian Constitution but was recommended for removal by the House of Representatives.
The Conference Committee also approved immunity for legislators in respect of words spoken or written in the exercise of their legislative duties. Also adopted by the Committee was the power conferred on the National Assembly and the State Assemblies in Section 58 and 100 to override the National-Assembly-MembersPresident or the Governor in an event there was an impasse where the President or the Governor of a state refused to append his assent on any passed law.

Clerverly: Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State and his predecessor, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, on Saturday paid a visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Hilltop residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The duo arrived at Obasanjo’s residence at about 2:48 pm in company with a former prelate of the Methodist Church, Nigeria, Dr. Sunday Mbang, and some other state officials. The team immediately proceeded into a closed-door meeting which ended at about 4.05 pm. Udom, who addressed journalists after the meeting, said he was in Abeokuta to pay homage and to thank Obasanjo. According to him, he consulted with Obasanjo shortly before the general elections and that his advice paid off. “I have come to show gratitude and respect for someone whom I regard as a father and whose advice I regard as invaluable and which also contributed to my victory at the polls,” he said. The governor acknowledged that his predecessor had laid a solid foundation upon which he would build and move the state to greater heights. He said the Peoples Democratic Party remained the greatest party in Africa and would provide a credible and formidable opposition to the ruling All Progressive Congress in order to move the nation forward. Akpabio, who also addressed newsmen, declared support for a reduction in the cost of governance in Nigeria.

fulanimafia: I don't understand how everyone can see the efforts PMB is putting in, in the fight against BH yet some people deliberately pretend the armed forces have completely ignored BH and are facing Calabar.
1. Relocation of the command centre
2. The composition of the MNJTF and establishment of their headquarters
3. The commitment of $100 million to fight the terrorists.
4. The release of $21 million already for the fight.
5. The donation of $5 million from the U.S alongside technical and weapons support.
6. The commitment of the G7 to eliminating the terrorists.
While there is clearly a brief transitional lull in the actual fight which makes the terrorists appear to be winning, it should be appreciated that the aforementioned are crucial and vital for a solid foundation for dealing the blood suckers a final fatal blow. Fighting the militants does not translate into stopping the fight against BH, allowing such criminals to fester in the first place is what balloons into problems like BH.
All militants, kidnappers, and demented elements that think they can threaten Nigerians should either make good their threats, repent, or embrace the Hell-fire from the air. D militants will lead to sumtin Lyk boko Why d herdsman killing anyhow will become what? |

You have rushed to open a thread without knowing the details of the said bombing. Do you even know what prompted the bombing?.
Anyways, my question to you is, was there any civilian casualty?.
What they have done is in your interest. Yorubas will say "kekere la tin pe ka iroko, to ba d'agba tan, apa o ni ka". If such an action has been taken against BH, maybe, they would have been completely annihilated long time ago.
