edogirl2:
"Various initiatives have been put in place in order to see that northerners from wherever they are, from the 19 states, become one as far as voting is concerned. We are not saying 100 percent of northerners should be in one political party but that northerners should have one voice, they should decide and dictate the politics of Nigeria; like it has been before independence and even during the First Republic because of the numerical strength of the North.
But of recent we became divided so we became so vulnerable. But God in His infinite wisdom and mercy used the goodwill of General Muhammadu Buhari and we have gotten the kind of unity that we have been yearning for for so long. We have realised this dream now. So now that we have achieved the unity we long for because of Buhari’s goodwill, it is only fair that we now make some efforts to consolidate these gains because General Buhari will not be the president for ever. So that after him, we have consolidated on this goodwill and we will be able to grow this unity, political cooperation, electoral cooperation from strength to strength so that the North will as much as possible dictate the political landscape of the country and what happens in Nigeria as it used to do."

_____________

Nairaland SS and SE ill-informed youths jubilating and wanting the north to occupy both Senate Presidency and HoR speakership, can you see your life now.

You will rather have the North have the Presidency, Senate Presidency, House of Rep speakership, Chief Justice of the Federation (basically 4 of the top 5 positions in this country), just so you can spite the SW huh So, the well-planned complete and total northern domination that will affect your lives negatively does not bother you? grin

You note in his long rant, this northern man didn't show any consideration for the SE or SS, yet PDP representatives from this 2 regions are lining up to vote for northern domination now which will pave the way for long term 'northern unity' and thus long term northern domination. Exactly what this man say they have planned all along up north.

So, who is the slave now. The SW that wants to prevent this northern domination at all cost or SE and SS representatives that are lining up behind their northern PDP masters to the detriment of their regions' long term well being grin

I will advise you watch as things play out before believing any news put in the public domain. What did we not hear about how the SW would vote before the elections? How about all the permutations of GEJ sweeping North central before the elections? If anything, these election should have shown all of us that anyone can say anything they want yet it does not mean such would happen.

Democracy remains a game of numbers and of winning strategy not emotions and a perpetual lust for vendetta that clouds judgement and reasoning. Some are prone to revealing their hand and intentions early yet this means absolutely nothing. It is better to observe, refrain from commenting prematurely and be 'entertained'.
Bros there is only 1 way Gbajabiamila can take it
Zone it to SW while making the North happy with the happy with the zoning

I don't know Tinubu reason in 2011,

Plus, you can be a Yoruba and still be judas.

So the SE is the biggest north ally in the SOUTH, I thought they claim yoruba betrayed them to north.

I guess the slaves have gone back to their master.

In your last comment, I think Tinubu will just have to use his influence to get block vote for SW.

That settles it angry
Tinubu only did what he did in 2011 to absolve pdp of wide range spread of power
And he used this as a campaign tool

"Jonathan hate us
He didn't give us power from 1-4
He even fight our son that enthroned him"

His influence that can coerced APC to zone it to our region?

Let's enjoy our glorified VP position

But as expected the SS and SE Will betray the SW to the north just to spite their brothers in the west.

These people didn't discuss Tinubu in 2011 when he worked for jonathan victory.

I just dey laugh, cause the northern knows the igbos are not smart hence they will use them and dump.

Instead of these people to lobby apc north to vote an igbo speaker or south south speaker, they will rather the north control both house

To what end?

To spite the south west
M yoruba and I like this
Tinubu worked for Jonathan for free?
If Tinubu thinks we don't deserve it in 2011

Why does he thinks we do nw

Bros wen u talk of North seeing a tribe as honest itz we yoruba that dey see as untrustworthy
Why is Tinubu nw be schemed out why can't Tinubu use his influence to get Gbajabiamila the slot

SS nd part of se is the best ally of North in the country
If a ranking rep or senator was produced they won't even cross check b4 zoning to dem

Gbajabiamila led the ACN then to make sure her sister from oyo lost the seat forgetting that
When u are digging a grave for ur enemy dig two

Politics › PDP Reps ‘ll Vote Dogara For Speaker – Okwu by HzRF(op): 10:23am On May 13, 2015
ABUJA— One of the leading All Progressives Congress, APC, members contending for the speakership of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, received the endorsement of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, caucus, yesterday.
A re-elected member of the House, Samson Okwu, who spoke on behalf of returning PDP members, said the caucus was determined to enthrone Dogara from Bauchi State as the next Speaker.
Okwu, representing Oju/Obi federal constituency, Benue State, said members were more disposed to working with a Speaker that will have a general appeal than someone who would likely be subservient to a godfather.
He also stressed that though members were elected on different political party platforms, what was of utmost importance to them as federal parliamentarians was the overall interest of the country.
He said: “We are about 142 members out of 360 and as minority, we are going to determine the leadership of the House of Representatives, especially the Speaker.
“We are determined to do that and we want to do it in such a way that we will choose leaders that will have support across party lines and will also look out for the interest of the country and members.
“It is no longer about APC or PDP it is about the House of Representatives and what is happening is not a different thing. By the time the 8th House is inaugurated, we are going to elect a Speaker of our choice.
Precedence

Yakubu-Dogara
“Let no one make a mistake: the House has a precedence and a scenario that happened in the House since 1999. PDP wanted Salisu Buhari to become the Speaker, but he did not last because he was not the choice of the members.
“He lasted only two months and Ghali Na’Abba was elected. The same scenario played itself in 2003.
“The party wanted Matazu, who was even a returning member, but the members did not want him and then elected Aminu Bello Masari as Speaker. Similar thing happened in 2007 when Patricia Etteh was imposed on members.
“They accepted her, but after four months, they forced her out and Dimeji Bankole was elected. The same scenario or even worse than the previous ones happened in 2011.
“PDP tried to impose Mulikat Adeola-Akande and we did not want her. So we brought Aminu Waziri Tambuwal as our Speaker.
“If the party in power is thinking that things have changed, they will surely be proved wrong. It is not about the party, it is the attitude of the House of Representatives to always go its own way in choosing its leadership.
“If APC is thinking that members will abide by its zoning arrangement, the same scenario will play out because we are all the same members and nothing has changed.
“All along, it is the House that has been playing progressive roles that Nigerians are happy with. We are going to do same thing.
“We will bring a Speaker that we want. We are not undermining any party, but the House of “We are solidly behind Yakubu Dogara as Speaker. And we are determined to deliver him come June.
“We want somebody who will rally all members behind him. Dogara is that person who will protect the interest of members and all Nigerians. He does not answer to any godfather.
“He does not take weekly briefings from a godfather who lives hundreds of kilometres from Abuja like a puppet. Dogara looks at the 359 constituencies as his own.

Politics › Chinese Firm Completes Major Power Project In Nigeria by HzRF(op): 12:28am On May 13, 2015
Chinese construction company Sinotec has completed a major power project in Nigeria which links the capital city, and expected to contribute immensely to the country’s national grid.

The project, which included the construction of a 330 kilo volts (kv) new-built transformer substation, 132kv substation extension, 330kv transmission line and 132kv tubular poles, was commissioned on Monday by Nigeria’s Vice President Namadi Sambo.

Designed to be one of the biggest substations in the West African country, the project, located in Gwagwalada city of Abuja, was completed within 14 months after the site work commenced, Sinotec’s deputy managing director, Bu Songbo, said at the commissioning ceremony.

“We have completed many projects in the past 10 years (in Nigeria). However, this is the only one which covered so many types of work scope,” the company manager said.

Chinedu Nebo, Nigeria’s minister of power, described the project, executed under the National Integrated Power Project scheme, as “a very critical link in the national grid” of Africa’s most populous country.

He said the Niger Delta Power Holding Company of Nigeria, which constructed the facility through Sinotec, will be in its second phase of the project, focus mainly on the construction of hydro power plants in northern Nigeria to assure a mixed grid distribution of power.

“All these will contribute immensely to the national grid,” said Sambo, noting he commissioned a similar power project six days ago in the north central state of Benue.

What am about to gist you is gotten from my mum's friend who is politically active and belong to labour party a card carrying members for that matter

She visited my mum today around 12 cause my mum and other civil servants in osun state now go to work when they can (when tfare dey hand, and they want to ) I knw you knw why
She said she and other labour party was in a meeting yesterday there part of what they were told that are

1)Buahri has met with GEJ where he requested to know the true state of FG and osun govt, there GEJ told buahri he owns us no kobo, the only money he hasn't paid are the FG roads aregbe built but aregbe refuse to solicit for approval in which terms such as the distance of the project(s), the width, the acceptable cost of the project(s) etc which automatically means that FG don't have knowledge of the FG projects he did

2)with buahri reluctance to show him the way out, he met with his role model (TINUBU) and Tinubu gave(borrowed) him money enough to pay 3months (both pensioners, civil servants nd others)

3)she said and I quote "as I am telling you kabiru has been arrested with the money"

As I am writing this over 3 of my friends has either text or call to tell me this same story

Many civil servants I knw in my area said
Our prayers has been answered

"If I can't pay salaries of the 1000 staffs at Silverbird should I blame my dad? Why would Govs blame FG or anyone for failure to pay salaries?
