Hi! Yes balogun is eko. Not too familiar with the market sha. What's the difference between the playpen and wooden crib? I personally prefer the crib but I'm worried cos we don't have much space in the room for it. What are the other options you're exploring?

Please kindly include pictures and prices when you get to check at the market.

Dear mamas, I read somewhere that Playards aren't supposed to be used as baby's permanent bed. The ish here is my family moves around a lot. As it is now, I don't know when the next move might be and due to that I've been finding it hard deciding which to buy between the regular wooden Crib and a Playard. I'm considering a Playard because most of them are portable which means one could easily pack them up in a travel bag and go. On the other hand, I'm considering a wooden crib because I wouldn't want L.O to develop any problems from constantly sleeping in a Playard. My question now is has any mama ever used only Playard for their L.Os? if yes, for how long and how was it? did you have to get a special mattress for the Playard? will appreciate your response/s as I intend to do all necessary shopping this new week. For the playpen new one is 5ok graco buh u can get a used one 25k below depends on what u want.. if u can get to eko market too u will get everyother things u need

My dear, I was away from Lagos for years oo and have only just moved back. I'm hoping to find a wooden crib but a Playard would do so long as I can find a very good Mattress for it.

Seeing all these baby stuffs just made me sad again because since 10:00am this morning, D.H and I have gone all around looking for baby crib to buy yet at 4pm we came back home empty handed. E.D.D is almost here yet I haven't bought anything. I will try again tomorrow, no choice.

Honestly, I'm with you on this. I came across this thread a few weeks ago; I read from the first page to this point and along the way I've come to love and respect all the women here. Nne biko kwa, you shouldn't self medicate during pregnancy. Only your Ob/Gyn should be able to prescribe your medications.

Based on personal experience, orgasm is the fastest way to induce labour. I don't know about anyone else but it worked for me. So, you could try putting your D.H to work on that and see how it goes.

Experienced mamas pls can a doctor sweep your membrane and ask you to go home?

Yes dear, a doctor certainly can. Infact, he can perform the sweep several times before your L.O decides to come out. Mine was twice and baby came out hours later. Wish you a smooth delivery.

@ i4eva at what trimesters were you given both? I have malaria and was given Coartem the 6 capsules green type.They said its for Preggy women and safe .I'm already in 2nd trimester This whole stuff is scary.

I was given both in my second trimester, about six weeks apart. I know nothing about Coartem in pregnancy. Mine was Fansidar.

Pls mama's, is it necessary to treat malaria in pregnancy, I don't feel sick since, but saw people collecting malaria drug @ D clinic yesterday.. What if I don't use it. What will happen Co's I don't feel any malaria.

Malaria drugs in pregnancy is basically for preventive measures; you don't need to feel Malaria symptoms before your Doctor will give them to you. The idea is to protect you and your unborn baby from the parasite. In my case, I have already had the recommended two doses of Fansidar. You should be able to have your doctor address any further concerns you might have on the subject.

All through the journey God was faithful, no MS despite d fact dat am a ftm, only dat I treated malaria 3times. Couldn't determine sex 'cos of d positioning for a long time, she was in transverse lie till 36weeks dis got me really worried I kept on praying n talking to my baby as well, by d time I did a scan @ 37 weeks she was in cephalic position already. Again I was tired n couldn't wait to see my baby I started evening walk but was lazy about it, so I started making declarations that my baby must arrive b4 EDD n has to come thru VD in fact Tuesday 'cos one of DH's friend who is my real gee's bday was on Tuesday. Beginning from 34th week I started having dis braxton hicks n from 37th week d menstral cramp keep coming on n off. Fast forward to Wednesday morning around 7:30am I started having contractions felt it was d normal one dat will come n go but it was consistent was exactly 39weeks. So I quickly had my bath n called DH to ask his friend to come pick me up, was even contemplating about carrying my bag thinking dey might send me back. On getting to d hospital around 11am checked n I was 2cm dialated I was admitted the VD examination is painful truely, d contraction kept progressing but was enduring it by 5pm was checked again n was 6cm so d doc said am progressing well so I won't be induced 'cos he was contemplating on inserting d tab. So he ruptured my membrane kai so painful by 9pm I was 9cm dialated was moved to d labour room d pain was unbearable but I kept on enduring didn't shout d nurses were so surprised as to how a ftm cld endure d pain so well was surprised actually 'cos d natural me cant even stand pain for long @ll but was already determined dat it was VD or nothing n was going to conserve my energy till wen its time to push. Felt d urge to poo n push but was told not to, d doc came in @ about 9:30pm there about was told to push @ every contraction I kept on trying naso d nurse said i was only shouting n not pushing dat I should push as if I was about to pass out a hard stool, sudden lay contractions wasnt so strong again as I was trying to push doc said cervix was thin but too tight upon all d kpekus with DH so he had to tell d nurse to add 1ml oxytocin Chai was so scared @ d mention of oxytocin 'cos I knew it was going to be very painful but it helped immediately contractions became so strong again I pushed@ every contraction but I had a perineal tear n was given an episiotomy. I pushed n baby was out was given an injection on d thigh n d placenta was out as well. D suture took over an hour but d area was numbed so didn't feel d pain.Then baby swallowed meconium immediately I remembered ma'am jazzjazz's lo, I got so scared but she's doing fine 'cos doc said staled meconium isn't bad n all was drawn out of her yesterday, by tomorrow we will be having a test for jaundice n God's willing be discharged still not lactating well but its gradually coming out little by little. DH was with me all thru d delivery process VD is painful o d back pain was out of dis world. I bless God in all

Hahahahaha! na shout you dey shout so? They told me that everything is going to amount to 250k or so that of course is apart from the Antenatal care fee and yup this is only for V.D
