Ibks100:Here goes.... Good Afternoon Sir. My name is Dara Judah. I am one of the applicants in the ongoing Nigerian Customs Recruitment. Sir, I wish to appeal to you to help we applicants reach out to the Nigerian Customs hierarchy to conclude the recruitment process that began in early 2019. Initially, we thought the delay was as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic but go ahead has since been given by the Presidency through the PTF for the continuation of the exercise. Rumors already abound that the exercise has been hijacked by unknown forces. Various government agencies such as the Police, DSS, Airforce have begun and almost concluded their recruitment exercise during this same period. Kindly offer whatever assistance you can Sir so our voice can be heard. We are tired of unemployment. Our hope is in you Sir. Thank you and God bless. |
Guys I suggest we all send text messages to the chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs to help us request action from the Customs hierarchy on the recruitment. The Covid-19 excuse is no longer viable as other government establishments are already conducting their recruitment with strict adherence to covid-19 protocols such as the Police, DSS, Airforce etc. It's time we take action and demand the right thing to be done. The senate was established for this purpose, to make our voice heard. Let's reach out to them so they can reach out to the Customs headquarters on our behalf. The Head of the Committee on Customs is Senator Francis Alimikhena His number: 08155555884 Vice-Chairman: Senator Ade 08052242211 If this people cancel this recruitment because we no talk, e no go funny o. SEN. SULEIMAN KWARI, a very nice man is also a member of the Committee. His number is:08033019005 Please be very polite in your text message. We need their help. |

1. European Maritime Trade: European explorers established sea routes to West Africa, bypassing the Sahara Desert and reducing the need for overland trade. 2. European Colonization of Africa: European countries like France, United Kingdom, Portugal, Belgium colonized coastal regions, disrupting traditional trade networks and imposing their own systems. 3. Rise of the Ottoman Empire: The Ottoman Empire's expansion into North Africa and the Middle East redirected trade routes and reduced the importance of the Trans-Saharan Trade. 4. Decline of West African Kingdoms: The decline of powerful West African kingdoms like Mali and Songhai reduced the demand for luxury goods and disrupted trade networks. 5. Conflict among traders: The Tuareg and Berber tribes, who played a crucial role in facilitating trade, faced internal conflicts, external pressures, and colonial disruption, further weakening the trade network. 6. Reduced demand for slaves: As European powers abolished slavery (e.g., Britain in 1807, France in 1848), the demand for slaves decreased, reducing the incentive for slave trading across the Sahara. |
