Rental properties are always there to save you during raining days and they are usually the easiest approved collaterals for any form of loans. Not to mention the fast rate at which they appreciate. As a lady I am glad we started earlier, people that discourages it are either not properly informed or don't know what is long term lasting investment with low risk. Every month I must collect rent somewhere or resell something double the initial cost.

From our experiences It's easier to deal with residential tents if you know the scope.

Better to build shops or corporate business building for banks to rent than build house for tenants to rent.

The wahala is too much. Anyway, I would advise you to look towards solar setup that will power you laptop and few other things when you finally rent house and forget about light.

Maybe also get small solar generator in situations when it rains and there is no sunlight to power your stuff up during raining season
