The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has said that there was nothing wrong with the deployment of soldiers in Ekiti State for the governorship elections scheduled to hold on Saturday. The former Governor of Edo State made the point while speaking to newsmen at the National Secretariat of the APC after he had a closed-door meeting with the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright, in Abuja, on Monday. The former Labour leader was responding to questions about the deployment of 30, 000 policemen in Ekiti and whether soldiers should be deployed to strengthen the security arrangement. Oshiomhole maintained that the number of policemen deployed should not be a talk point but their capacity to respond effectively to situations. According to the immediate past Edo Governor, “Whether they should use the military or not, I don’ t think you want to argue that. “Over the years, since 2003, 1999, the armed forces have always been deployed. “Don’t forget, when I was in Edo state, I told people that I wanted the armed forces to be involved in the election because the rigging machine is serviced by criminals who are hardened and who are often hired. “Now, if you have criminals wielding AK 47 rifles on an election day, and the police are overwhelmed, you want to say the army should not be deployed? “We shouldn’t worry about who we deploy; I think we should all pray that however people are deployed that in the end , we are not counting dead bodies.” http://www.kendogist.com/2018/07/ekiti-2018-what-oshiomhole-said-about.html

The Reformed All Progressives Congress, R-APC has again hit at the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, saying President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo lacked coordination. The R-APC, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kassim Afegbua, cited the issue of restructuring as an example. It said that Buhari and Osinbajo held different opinions on the subject. Afegbua said the APC was not the party its founding fathers envisaged when they came together in 2014. He said, “As we speak, the APC has jettisoned its own manifesto. Where is the restructuring we promised Nigerians? They hurriedly came up with a committee headed by Governor (Nasir ) el-Rufai; where has that landed us? “The Vice-President is a supporter of restructuring. The President of the country is not a supporter of restructuring in the same government. “There is no synergy. There is no coordination on any issue. You have about three or four opinions from the same government; that is not the way to lead. “When the Fulani herdsmen issue came up in Benue State, the Inspector General of Police came up with a different position; the Minister of Defence gave a different position; and the Presidency is giving a different position.” The National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, had in an interview with journalists, claimed that the R-APC members were mercenaries hired to destabilise the APC. Reacting to this, Afegbua said they were genuine members of the party interested in retrieving the party from usurpers. Afegbua, added, “Adams Oshiomhole needs to take a look at our past. We do not possess the characteristics of hirelings or mercenaries. “We are bona fide members of the APC . When it is convenient for people, they dress you in very elegant robes but when they are losing the battle, they call you names, but we will not call them names, we will continue to insist that we are going to rescue the APC and reposition it for optimum performance. “We cannot be preaching to be progressives when we are law-breakers. We cannot be preaching that we are progressives when we are a party that has performed abysmally low in all sectors of the economy.” http://www.kendogist.com/2018/07/r-apc-identifies-real-problem-with.html

Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Provence, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuma has declared that God will not give victory to President Mohammed Buhari in 2019. The cleric also asked Buhari to ensure that Leah Sharibu was released immediately, warning that Aso Rock would be a living hell for him and his family if the schoolgirl remained in Boko Haram captivity. Archbishop Chukwuma spoke Friday while delivering his national address at the first session of the seventeenth synod of the Diocese of Enugu. He condemned the federal government for pretending to fight corruption and insincerity in the handling of the murderous fulani herdsmen that have killed and destroyed many communities. Chukwuma said that Buhari’s body language and actions recently showed that he wants to recontest for the presidential seat but “I can tell you that God will not allow him.” The cleric who said that the Service Chiefs in the country were over due for change accused the President of retaining them because of his 2019 agenda. His words: “We know that why he has refused to relieve the service chiefs of their positions is because he has a hidden agenda”. On the Leah Sharibu, the Archbishop said it was unjust and smacks of politics for the federal government to have kept quiet over the matter because she is a Christian. He said, “I am given Buhari ultimatum for 72hours in this synod if the Dapchi girl is not released the Ask Rock will be in trouble let them go and note it. “We are told that she was held back because she refused to renounced her Christian Faith, may the Lord deliver from their captive in Jesus Name if not let the Aso Rock be on fire.” http://www.kendogist.com/2018/07/buhari-will-lose-in-2019-aso-rock-may.html
