Monogamy:In proferring solutions, some people end up becoming nuisances. You are one of the dissenting voices here, but your name is not on the list. There is a level to support. When you glaringly see black and try to sugarcoat it to suit your narrative, you become an extremist. |
EmekaBlue:You dey find trouble. When you see trouble no run oh! ![]() |
I created this thread out of my reservations towards some Nairaland monikers that I consider to be too obnoxious, excessive generalizations of comments and stray too far from topics. These people are overtly overzealous and sometimes, too emotional in their comments, whether for or against the government of the day in the politics section. Generally, in the politics section, which I consider the most popular on Nairaland, there are three categories of users: 1. The Wailers or Ipobs or PDP or ESN supporters: This group is considered to be in constant opposition of the government of the day. For instance, if there is a report that a man beat his pregnant wife in let's say, Okigwe, they would find a way to link it to Buhari and blame Buhari. They just derive pleasure in blaming the government for everything, I mean everything that happens in Nigeria. I hail una o.2. The BMC or Zombies or Afonja or Yoruba Muslim or Aboki: This group considers itself the elite members and feel very untouchable. They would provoke you to a fight and be the first to call Mynd44 or Seun and report you. They support the government of the day, regardless of how wrong the situation is. Take for instance, if the Army brutalised their own sibling in Ilesha, they would ask why their sibling would dare stand in the way of the Military, "don't you know that the army has the right to level anybody that threatens the sovereignty of Nigeria"? ![]() 3. The Unstable users or the middle ones or the undecided: These ones do not know where they belong. They are easily swayed by the aforementioned 'super men' above. In all these, each of these users have that particular moniker that annoys you. Personally, I Never read comments from and Racoon. Funny enough, they each belong to opposing sides of the divide. They are passionate about their support for what they believe but I consider them too passionate. The most annoying part of it is that, they would bring screenshots from other news articles of ten years ago to prove their points. Anytime I see their comments, I scroll past without wasting time to read. Worthy mentions include: Righteousness89. Who is that Nairaland user you would block from seeing his/her comments if you could? |
Pierocash:You are so very wrong that "when a coup succeeds, it is the highest ranking officer that takes charge" When Shagari was deposed in 1983, Buhari, a junior officer was drafted my the Military to take over the government. Who ever the Military council decides, whether junior or senior, automatically becomes the head of state. Then all his superior officers will go compulsory retirement. |
wagazala:Only a law court can issue a fine on offenders or Road Safety for traffic violations. The police have no reason whatsoever to demand or accept a fine. The "payer" is as guilty as the "receiver" but in this case, the receiver is mostly at fault because he is a Law Enforcement agent, the onus is on him to know better. |
Pastorjohn2:Bros, our mama dey tie only wrapper sleep in order to breastfeed us for night. Stop to dey exaggerate somethings, haba! I sure say almost every child don see him mama unclothedness. But nobi for studio like the mumu wey dem sentenced sha. |
I don't know what to say about women anymore. Confused and lost souls. |
fergie001:PSG is no match for City. How do I say this? There is no team currently in the champions league that is a match for City. We are talking about the only club that defeated her opponent H & A in the quarter finals, the only team. We are clear of our domestic duties, no distraction from that angle, because the Epl is securely in our cabinet, unlike Madrid that is still playing catch up and desperately need a La liga title. Fighting on two fronts only equals distraction and disaster. Make una focus on the league, forget the UCL because this is a lost battle. Don't waste valuable energy that is needed to win la liga on this one, it's not worth it, because you're fighting a lost battle. Copy my advice and paste on your club's official Twitter, who knows, Zidane might just stumble on it and it becomes your saving grace? And don't pay me for it, we are forum mates. ![]() |
fergie001:Now I understand your apprehension. You are scared of meeting Manchester city in Istanbul. You know that whatever makes City enters the final, and if your team manages to eliminate Chelsea( which is a tall dream from you), it would be an automatic L for Madrid! No fear, e no go be home and away like the last time. ![]() |
fergie001:The Champions league has proven time and again that you cannot predict its winner so easily the way you have done. I am predicting that City will win because I am a City fan and of course, my prediction is biased. But you on the other hand are doing it out of sheer bad belle. ![]() |
helinues:It says "earnings" not profit. Your argument can only be valid if this was profit. |
fergie001:Keep shifting the goal post. This is City's Champions league trophy, go write it this down. |
Full time Dortmund 1 : 2 Manchester City Only PSG standing in the way now. Champions league trophy in sight. Good job boys. |
Goooooooal!!!!! Well done Folden |
Guardiola please remove Mahrez and bring in Fernandinho so as to create room for Gundogan to go forward. |
Penalty to City.... VAR Checking..... Goooooooal!!! |
They have played their half, let's play ours. Let's show them why we are the Citizens. |
baralatie:Be careful young man, now is no time for Jokes. |
Come on City, Come on!!! |
helinues:You obviously have compression problem. Go read the article again, this time, read it line by line and slowly too. |
unanonso:How can you make an argument about religious differences by quoting from the religious book of just one religion? I wonder what they teach in schools these days. Counter his argument with a stronger logic not quotations from the bible which only belongs to Christians. By the way, I am a Christian and believe in Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour, I just hate lazy arguments. |
anyamashima:Actually, there are six people on earth who look exactly like you, but the chance of meeting just one of them is very very slim. Some people get lucky enough to meet their lookalikes, others don't have the opportunity. |
Niggar said it on Twitter that he was eyeing politics, I he has started taking steps in that direction. |
charlesucheh:It isn't really about football. As we grow older, reality dawns on us and we tend to assume our early years were better. Children who never watched El Clasico two years ago, watching it today would be the best game ever. |
A good heart is a pot of gold. David, you are a man! I pray to have half as good heart as you do. |
Lamasta:Don't mind those "bad belle" people. |
Monogamy:Such mentality is what got us where we are now. That a youth(unless you are above 35) would make such statement in a country where the majority population is youth, so pathetic man, very very depressing. Go and read about the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. He was a stand up comedian and an actor. In 2015, he joked that he would be the president someday. In 2017, he started taking his statement seriously and in 2018, he joined the campaign for presidency, with no prior political experience, nothing. He contested the Ukrainian presidential election of 2019 and won. He is the current president of Ukraine, an actor and stand-up comedian. Oh, he is just 43 now. He was just 37 when he first made the statement, became president at 39, same as Emmanuel Macron of France. But in Nigeria, we hope to replace an ancient of days with another ancient of days in a country dominated by youths. So sad! |
Women have to be the most confused living things on earth, Adichie inclusive. Women don't understand men, women don't understand life, women don't understand their children, heck, women don't understand women, not even themselves. If you have successfully lived with a woman for 3 months and above as a man, you deserve to be celebrated. It's not easy to cohabit with the most confused souls in the universe. |
Monogamy:If by "personally" you mean calling us or sending a message, then of course, no. But insinuations and body language, coupled with utterances by Yoruba elders, most recently, an Oba. The most potent form of communication is the non-verbal communication. It carries more weight than the verbal. But again, if we must follow your logic, then you shouldn't mind those who write or criticises Tinubu at all. The crux of this argument is about his supposed presidential ambition. But if you deem it unnecessary, then what is the cause of your "dragging"? You can't build something on nothing. If indeed Tinubu has no ambition, why waste your time fighting and arguing those who think he does? |
